greysmom- i do think lucia is right about needing to eat more. but just regarding the bloat and water gain....i didn't feel overly bloated when i first started, but i took a "before" pic just a couple of days after starting to eat more. about 10 days later i took another pic, and the difference was shocking. it was…

Karin, if it's just a matter of registering on the website, do you have a friend in the US or one of the other approved countries whose address you can use?
-
It is a lot of calories. And it's totally reasonable. :) Sounds about right to me. Welcome to the group. You will love it here.

Yay, I get to eat more!!!! I was so hoping you would tell me to. Ok, I will up to TDEE once I get my steady workouts going. I probably would have been forced into it anyway with how hungry lifting makes me. And I will take progress photos. Thanks, Lucia!!

Thanks for the replies, ladies!! I'm doing a big happy dance that I finally get to really get down to it, lol. CC, I saw your pics!! Your progress is awesome. I have that jiggly belly bit too from babies (big babies!!) and c-sections. It may always be there, but I can at least tone it up and cover it up. I figure I will…

yep, me too. running or elliptical usually.

1. hi!! 2. read the stickies. 3. go here> http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ 4. plug in your numbers to get your BMR (what your body burns in a day with absolutely no activity - think coma) and your TDEE (projection of what you burn all day based on your stats and estimated activity level). 5. come back here…

but you get to EAT!! YAY food!!! just pumping you up a little there ;) yep, your numbers sound right. go forth and eat. if you are wondering what to eat, cruise through some of our diaries for ideas.

if you're going to put money into a fitness gadget, i would go with a bodymedia fit (the link version). i want one of those so bad!! and i think you are probably moderate. i set myself as moderate when i started, but then i hit a period where i wasn't able to workout like i had been (what i had based that moderate level…

omg, i have a dog that looks just like yours, lol. he's a pit/lab mix with the same black/brown shading, and if that's a white patch on his chest, they just might be twins. i used to eat very little fat. who would have ever thought that was a bad thing?? i still don't meet that macro very often, but i'm getting it closer.…
-
and good point above about the activity level!! pick the correct one or you will end up not eating enough. you do not sound sedentary. it really is better to eat over than it is to eat not enough.
-
i would go with the scooby numbers. letting your body know that it is going to consistently get the same base amount of fuel is important. and it's just simpler, imo. no this number this day and this number that day yada yada....one number every day. and just make sure that you are not burning enough calories to go below…

this sounds awesome!! thanks. what do you usually dip in it?

this is such a tease ;) post the recipe, woman! phoenix, my diary is open so feel free to browse it. if you see a long list of ingredients that sound good and you want to know what the heck exactly i made, just ask me. i find a lot of vegetarian recipes that sound really tasty and then add a protein source to them. my…

I started losing inches almost immediately despite the scale showing a big +5. Now just past the five week mark, I am down 6 or so pounds, many inches and at least 2 pants sizes. I freaking love eating more.

My random reflection in windows and such surprises me sometimes, lol. Wow, that's really me?!? Yep, that skinny chick is me. Sweet!
-
Love it! Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work.

I got jokingly accused of having a tapeworm today. I was all hahaha on the outside. On the inside I'm thinking my metabolism is a well oiled machine. No tapeworm required. So suck it.
-
Something nobody else has mentioned....my skin has cleared up. I've been struggling with breakouts on my middle back for a couple of years during times of eating too much and too little. Read recently that it might be hormonal, but five weeks into Eating More, it is SO much better.
-
Sorry!! I forget where I've posted, so I suck at following up sometimes. My goal is to do the NROLFW 3 times a week and HIIT or more moderate cardio 2 times per week. Honestly though, my schedule has been so up in the air that I haven't managed any consistency. Hoping to rectify that when my kids are out of school. So,…

do you know your BMR and TDEE? if not, go here.... http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ ....and figure it out and then come back and share.

ooh, that would be hard. what gym doesn't have a squat rack? you should demand that they get one. it could just be the rack to hold it instead of the more complicated one that slides up and down. i wouldn't think they would be that expensive. you get badass points for doing that. totally.
-
i was gonna look, but it's closed. have you been doing the eat more thing for a while or are you just starting?
-
*offers hand* You're right. It's water. Don't know if it will be gone by Friday, but you've already started this, so you might as well stick to it. The bloating actually passed pretty quickly for me though. Keep at it, drink plenty of water and watch your sodium.
-
Off the top of my head, I think you might need to go up a bit. My BMR & TDEE numbers are the same as yours (or very close), and I'm eating 1900 per day (usually a little more actually, but that's my goal). That number seems to be my sweet spot because I've dropped many inches, about 5 pounds & a couple of sizes in 5 weeks…

i really like the way the workouts are designed. i'm frustrated right now because i'm having a hard time fitting the workouts in twice a week, so i will essentially be starting over next week when my kids get out of school and my mornings are freed up. looking forward to it!!
-
i'm not sure if i never have rest days or if i have too many. i know i'm not getting to exercise as much as i want and it is pissing me off....grrrrr. but i also rarely manage to just sit around. there is always work to be done around the house. so essentially, i'm just b*tching and not answering your question at all. :P
-
i weigh every day, several times a day. i'm not bothered by the fluctuations. i actually find them interesting. don't do as i do, lol. i measure whenever i feel like something might be smaller. i am not the best model of consistency for sure...except in my diet. i use up all my consistency there. advice......go all in. be…

No. It's counterproductive. Eat your cut value ever day. A couple of over or at TDEE days aren't gonna mess everything up. The gain you have seen is most likely just water retention. Stick it out and be consistent. If you don't, you're not giving the whole Eat More thing a real chance to work because you're not really…

You can look at mine. Just overlook the popcorn and candy today :)
