  • i started with my cut value and saw results. everybody is different. i'd stick with it a bit longer. if you don't unbloat and start to lose after a few weeks consider a reset or up just a little, whatever you are comfortable with.
  • not corny at all!! EM2WL has definitely changed my life for the better. i'm thankful every day. congrats on your less roundedness ;)

  • i heard really good things about optimum nutrition brand. i've ordered some but haven't received it yet. you can browse through diaries to get ideas for high protein foods. i actually don't use the powders most days, but i will be using them more often now that i started lifting.
  • I got accused of having a tapeworm recently. Have to admit it kinda cheesed me off at the time.
  • I still have days every now and then that are just HUNGRY days. I commented a few days ago that I had just eaten lunch and was feeling totally stuffed, and yet, somehow, I was still hungry. Weird, but it was just a HUNGRY day.
  • I always record my lows. Even though I know I will fluctuate up and down. Record it!! And 10 days was the magic number for me too. I recorded a loss from my Eat More Start Date on day 10. Congratulations!!!
  • Fantastic!! Congrats on getting through THE EVIL BLOAT. Keep up the good work.
  • awesome!! i skipped the whole skeptical part and went straight to "yay, i get to eat!!!!!" i was just THAT excited about the eating, lol.
  • hi, grace! the numbers don't even have to be that complicated. you can choose to eat at your TDEE-15% every day, or you can choose to do a metabolism reset and eat your full TDEE every day for about 8 weeks. either way, you set a calorie goal and eat that amount every day. the only time that you need to eat over your…
  • totally awesome! congrats and thanks for sharing the success.
  • nice work, mike! the water retention can seriously look like you're wearing a full body suit made of unsightly flab. no joke. but if you see the process through it is pure amazingness when it goes away. and if you cut your cals back again and up them later, you will totally have to go through the bloat again. not wanting…
  • congratulations!! keep up the good work.
  • I sure hope so because that is my goal at this point. Toning up and getting leaner/less jiggly in places and getting stronger. If I get any smaller, I want it to be through getting leaner and more fit, not necessarily weight loss.
  • So you're saying EMTWL has turned you into an EOS....Equal Opportunity Stud. ;) The Mayo Clinic saying that a 1200 calorie diet should contain generous portions of a bunch of stuff is laughable. They obvs didn't put any menus together to see if that was even possible. Looking back at my 1200 days, protein was the daily…
  • That's great! You are really sticking to that scale ban too. I'm impressed. I'm a bit jealous that you have an athleta store. I need to find one of those.
  • I made these after you posted it in another thread. I liked them. I replaced the cinnamon with vanilla and added some salt and tossed a bunch of blueberries in there. Yummy!
  • yep, if you are trying to hit those macro goals, you can't go too far wrong. browse through some diaries to get some specific ideas. many of them are open.
  • MORE cardio?!?! holy cripes, i don't know how he even said that with a straight face. that's crazy talk. if the huge amount of what you were doing wasn't getting it done then obvs more of the exact same thing just doesn't seem the logical answer. at least he wasn't telling you to eat 1200, but he was telling you to net…
  • You can check out my diary! My current favorite snack is half cup skim ricotta with a tbsp sweetened coconut and a tbsp of mini chocolate chips. Add a dash of stevia if you things on the sweeter side like I do. It's freaking delicious!
  • holy crap!! you look great!!
  • *snort* i like you. same advice as all the others.
  • oh, my bad....must ammend a bit. if i have alcohol, it typically all goes off the rails. :drinker:
  • if you need to up gradually, do that. a lot of people take it slow initially. i jumped right to my cut value and prefer that method, but you should do whatever you are comfortable with mentally and physically. just know that your goal is to get to that cut value (TDEE - 15%). once you're there for a bit, you will wonder…
  • that's awesome! i don't think it's a fluke. i showed inches lost that early and a couple pounds too. very nice!
  • it's really too bad MFP doesn't have an estimate for that kind of late night burn, right?? lol. i try to rein it in as much as i can. no going out big for me. but i'm also not bothered if i'm in the red. if i go beyond my cut value, i just try to stay within TDEE. if i go beyond TDEE, oh well, tomorrow is a new day.
  • Mike, it's amazing that that is only six pounds!! Awesome.
  • Very short answer because I'm going to bed.... I started 7 weeks ago. I was plateaued around 152 and wearing loose 12s and some 10s. I was eating 1350-1400 per day, recently up from 1200 per day. I jumped right up to my cut value of 1900. I was fortunate and found my sweet spot right out of the gate. After one month, I…
  • lol...i'm the total opposite. i'm kinda scared to up to TDEE because i'm afraid of having to cut back down later!! i'm afraid my body will revolt against a cut after having been upped.
  • and here's a cheesecake with no cheese. it's all greek yogurt. i actually like to use plain yogurt with it and add in my own fruits/flavoring. i've done lemon, blueberry, PB chocolate chip....possibilities are endless. http://nutritionfor.us/2012/04/eat-skinny-chobani-black-cherry-cheesecake/
  • Yes!! In my experience anyway..... I've been doing this 7 weeks tomorrow (so not 3 months yet, but i'm answering anyway). I jumped from 1350 to 1900, which is my TDEE-15%. Now, honestly, that is based on a moderate activity level which I did not end up doing for the first few weeks, but it wasn't quite full TDEE either. I…
