  • I have seen calorie calculators that say 25 calories for every ounce of sweet potato. So 4 oz would be 100 cals. Its smaller than you think, so I'd weigh it in ounces to be sure.
  • I completely understand the need for increased protein through organic/sustainable/ethical choices. I have started making changes in that direction as much as possible. I'm planning to add more quinoa to my diet. I already enjoy tempeh frequently, but it is a great source of protein that is quick and easy (pretty…
  • Nope, I eat to my goal AND my exercise cals back. Was eating way lower and the scale wasn't moving. Now I'm eating more and losing more. =) Don't be afraid. Come to the dark side...
  • Mine is open and I log every day! I try to eat pretty healthy and stay at around 1800 cals to lose. =)
  • I log in every day and try to keep my macros at 50C 25F 25P. Feel free to add me!
  • I log in everyday and love to exercise. Feel free to add me.
  • I actually really enjoy my cardio workouts. The group classes at the gym are so motivating. I also have a new puppy that needs lots of walks and runs for her exercise. Perhaps I could tone back the intensity and the frequency to once a day instead of twice? I need my runs and gym time for my sanity. But I also don't want…
  • Feel free to add me if you'd like. I'm a workout fiend and love getting workout ideas from others, so I can definitely encourage you in that way. Best of luck.
  • I think you'll get a lot of different answers about the "perfect breakfast" because that means different things to different people. If you are trying to fill up on protein and fiber, you might try a favorite of mine: Brown some tempeh in a pan then add 2 scrambled eggs. When the eggs are cooked, stir in some pico de gallo…

  • I make these all the time. They are my new obsession! When I cook them for others, they always ask what I do to them. It's not a secret. Just a little olive oil and sea salt. Delicious!
  • Great replies, everyone! How could I forget to mention my early Christmas present that will surely be a fitness motivator-- my new puppy (my profile pic). Just have to wait a few months for her to be my new running buddy. =)
  • I posted this exact same thing yesterday! I upped my calories to maintenance for the holidays and I've gained 5lbs in 2 weeks! eeek! Pretty much everyone was saying that it's water weight and muscle recovery from workouts. I am putting the scale away until after the holidays and not weighing again for a couple of weeks…
  • Thank you to everyone who has responded! How much should I cut to after the holidays? I was not having success with 1400 net, but I wasn't lifting then either. Should I ditich the scale completely and just focus on lifting since I'm so close to my target weight?
  • I haven't taken measurements, but yesterday my usually comfortable size 4's were getting tight around the waistband, which is alarming to me. I've only been lifting for about 3 weeks so I know the weight is not muscle gain, but more likely water to repair the muscles. Also, today my rings don't fit properly so I'm thinking…
  • This is a great topic! This year I have been bringing brussle sprout and raddish skewers to potlucks. Just roast them with EVOO and put a little sea salt on top. Potlucks are always short on veggies. People always ask me to bring my raspberry phyllo bites: Mini phyllo cups filled with brei and raspberry jam, topped with a…
  • I donate frequently- You can eat the same amount as usual but drink LOTS of water and take it easy on the workouts. Even the next day you may still feel lightheaded/dizzy if you do strenuous exercise.
  • Feel free to add me! I do make an effort to eat healthfully and I exercise daily. My diary is open to friends. I try to make as many things from scratch as I can. I just took up lifting again and am currently eating at TDEE to maintain my weight. What are your fitness goals?
  • Snacks that I enjoy are: hard boiled eggs yogurt with a little cereal or blueberries apple with cottage cheese bananas kashi protein bars vitatops muffins
  • You can add me. My diary is open to friends. I eat 3 meals a day plus snacks. I love to get ideas from others' diaries also.
  • I like to make tomatilos as a side dish when I have mexican food. Just pan sear with a little EVOO. Another good one is the quinoa mango medley from skinnytaste.com Hope you find something yummy!
  • You can add me! I'm also 26 and at the point in my life where I want to be fit and healthy. It's always great to have motivation from MFP friends.
  • You are awesome! Keep up the good work. Exercise is so wonderful not only for long term health, but for short-term stress relief and energy. Way to go!
  • Since I have cut my sodium through clean/healthy eating, I feel so much better. I rarely go over 1500mg of sodium a day. To me, clean eating is eating whole foods in their natural state. Some of my most frequently eaten fresh fruits/vegetables are apples, bananas, grapes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, green beans. I typically…
  • Thanks guys! I am by no means 100% healthy-eating either, just trying my best. =)
  • I plan on using many recipes from skinnytaste.com 2 I have already tried are: Sweet Potato brulee (I actually omitted the sugar on top) skinny pumpkin pie They were both delicious. I agree with the above poster about cookinglight as well. great recipes there too.
  • So hard to choose! However, my most used are black grapes and broccoli.
  • Friend request coming your way. =)
