  • I just looked it up here: http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/calories_burned_list.asp and according to this source there is no difference in the number of calories burned.
  • I have a Polar cycling HRM so it's not exactly the same, but it's my understanding that you input your sex as part of the setup process, so it shouldn't matter what the picture on the box shows. I don't think Polar makes any monitors that are gender-specific.
  • If the owner's manual doesn't say it gives calorie info then it doesn't. I think the New Balance N1 is a really simple one that doesn't give you anything more than HR.
