  • I'm literally munching on 200g of baked broccoli right now. I never realized it had so much protein and its nice to change up my snacks a bit.
  • Greek yogurt, shredded chicken (I make a batch for the week in the crockpot and add cheese/seasoning with it for lunch), cheese, beef jerky, edamame, Quest bars and protein powder.
  • It's fine if you let it sit. You may want to shake it a bit before drinking but it won't go bad. I mix mine right before drinking but occasionally if I can't finish the shake I'll leave it in the fridge for a few hours or overnight and it's fine.
  • They are the best thing ever. Not all flavors are 170 calories though. My favorite, chocolate chip cookie dough is 190 for 21g protein
  • I've been on this "journey" for over a year before my boyfriend got even slightly interested in getting healthier or fit. He doesn't want to count calories but wants to cut back his bad eating, his soda drinking and his mindless munching. He has started working out with me as well. I'm happy that he has decided he wanted…
  • I don't have contacts so I always wear my glasses when I work. My balance suffers when I don't wear them and the blurriness gives me a headache. I need my balance when lifting so there is way I'd go without them. They tend to slip off my nose if I get too sweaty but I think they are a little loose and need to be tightened…
  • Thanks for this link. I've been thinking of adding isolation exercises but didn't know which ones or how to go about it. I'll take a look at this program.
  • I've been doing Stronglifts 5x5 for a few months now with no prior lifting experience and I love it. My boyfriend started with me last week and he likes it too. He has some previous experience with lifting but not with any program or lifting routines.
  • OHP is the bane of my existence and I feel like I will never get a high weight on it. I couldn't even start with 45lb when I started Stronglifts. I started at 20lb and it took me almost two months to get up to 45lbs. I'll get the weight high one day.
  • I loved this article. It makes so much sense.
  • Sounds good. Saving for later after a trip to the grocery store.
  • This ^^ I had done weight machines in the past but had just picked random ones and didn't follow any program or use any real weight. I started with Stronglifts and it was great and I still love it. Do your homework though beforehand. Read the forum, watch some instruction/form videos online and don't be afraid to ask…
  • MFP suggested I eat 1500 calories TDEE-15% suggested I eat 1800. I eat 1800.
  • I've never seen anyone curl in the Squat Rack but it would quite a bother. Side question: I've always used the power cage at my gym for squats then OHP then deadlifts but we had two power cages and two smith machines and hardly anyone picked cage over smith machine so there wasn't a high demand for the equipment. My…
  • In my personal experience; I lost weight at 1200 cals and I lost weight at 1800 cals. Why would I want to eat less calories if I can eat more and still lose weight? Why would I want to deprive myself of food I love and create an unhealthy obsession with food when I can eat a balance variety of food and still hit my goals?…
  • This post is exactly why you are on my friends list.
  • You took the words right out of my fingertips...or whatever. I rather work out in the evening. I cherish the relationship I have with my bed too much and I'm always in a worse mood when I workout early. Also my lifts suffer greatly in the morning since I'm not fueled properly or warmed up from a day of activity.
  • 30DS was a good starting point for me and it helped teach dedication and commitment to a program. It's a good beginner cardio program. I recently did the Body Revolution DVDs and I think they are good place to go after 30DS for cardio. I personally hate cardio so I've moved on from them but they had their place in my…
  • I have no clue but I'll do some research and find out. It can't hurt. I would assume the CA state capital would have some good public services set up.
  • Shed is another good idea but I may have to check with the HOA. This place is horribly picky when it comes to the outside space. If outside doesn't work I may have to just deal with the crowded gyms for another year or two until we can afford our own place with a garage or 1st floor spare space.
  • No PFs close by and personally I disagree with a lot of their policies. I was a member for awhile and it was a great starting point for my cardio days but I wouldn't go back to their gym under any circumstance. Fitness 19 is only a few bucks a month but there is just not enough equipment for the amount of people that are…
  • Power Cage, Bench and Barbells! Once I get a place that has a garage or extra room I'll be buying my own power cage and barbell set.
  • and I am jealous. Congrats
  • Net Calories are how many calories you ate minus any exercise calories you burned. MFP is set up to give you a calorie goal that will allow you to lose the weight you set in your goal without any exercise. If you exercise then you burned more calories than MFP estimated and therefore you can/should (there is always a…
  • They have the new Polar Loop which works with the Polar heart rate strap and you wear both all day. The issue is that those activity trackers are just an estimate just like TDEE. I wear a Fitbit and love it because it provides me with activity information but I take the calories burned information with a grain of salt.…
  • I got a VS sports bra when they were having their semi-annual sale. I bought it in my size and it fit nicely the first time or two but now I feel like it has stretched out a bit. The one I have has no way of adjusting so it feels a bit big and doesn't support like I would like. I may take another look at their sports bras…
  • My goal for March is to get back into Stronglifts 3x/week. I moved two months ago and went through some personal struggles and stopped lifting. I got a new gym membership today and did my first lifting routine in over two months. It felt great. I started at basically the beginning weights to see how I feel. Squats: 55lbs…
  • I'm eagerly awaiting the Amiigo as well and honestly I'd suggest waiting until its ready for the public market before buying a tracker. I love my Fitbit Flex. It doesn't do stairs but its waterproof and stays with me no matter what I'm doing. I used to leave my Fitbit One all the time because I'd forget to attach it to my…
