Thank you everyone. Special thank you to my momma. Being able to share my success with my family and help inspire them to get fit has been such an amazing experience.

I'm not one to preach what I believe in or pressure others to follow my plan. However, if you are curious what I've done as far as eating and exercise this past year, here you have it. I focused on staying under my calories as the primary goal for the majority of my year. The last few months I've focused on protein first,…

Looks like you already decided on fitbit but here's my input. I started with Fitbit Ultra. Really liked it but it didn't have bluetooth. Switched to bodymedia but despite claims at being more accurate, it overstated my calorie burn (I ate what I burned for 6 weeks and gained weight) and the bulkiness annoyed me. I got…

Welcome to mfp. Unfortunately I don't eat Indian food so I won't be much help.

Added both of you :)

Added both of you :)

Thank you very much :flowerforyou: Added :) Hello! Added. Thank you! :) I'm still a noob when it comes to real strength training. I was messing around with bodyweight and machine "weight training" for about 6 months but did not see any progress. I started Stronglifts about 2 months ago and I'm still seeing gains from it.…

I spent $70 on my last pair and they didn't last as long as I would have liked. I'm going to spend $100+ on my next pair.

Vanity. I've gained confidence and self esteem by losing weight and gaining strength which was an added bonus that I wasn't sure I would ever get.

I love my fitbit. I've had both the Ultra and the wristband. They even themselves out and really I haven't noticed any additional tracking with the wristband. Not sure what other people are talking about. I've opened the Fitbit app while at work and typed, talked (I move my arms when i talk at times) and worked for over 4…

I am on week 4 of Stronglifts5x5 and that's the only thing I do at the gym. I've lost 30lbs since January but I'm on maintenance now. While losing weight I tried workout DvDs and running but by July I stopped cardio and focused mainly on weight lifting.. I walk about 10k steps a day on my breaks/lunch at work and that's it…

I eat 2100 calories a day in average. I'm 5'7

And that is why I make my own Nutella. http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/01/09/better-than-nutella/

5-10 minutes for me to get ready for work. 10-15 minutes to get ready if I'm going out and want to dress up special.

Thanks for posting this thread. It's nice to see the range of women that fit into the body fat range I'm hoping to achieve. My body fat hand monitor says I'm 26% body fat and I'm 5'7 150lbs but I need to get it checked via calipers or a water test for a more accurate check.

The pumpkin candy corn and the pumpkin shaped Reese's. There is something about the pumpkin shaped candies that makes me go crazy, probably because they are denser/bigger.

I recently started heavy lifting but I had done lifting throughout my weight loss journey. I'm working the Stronglifts 5x5 program now. I would love additional support and anyone is free to add me :)

I just recently started using Almond milk in my protein shakes. I normally just use water though. My favorite is Pro 7 Cookies and Cream. Its a mixture of proteins and tastes delicious and the protein to cal ratio is great (153 cals for 34 protein) I also like Optimum Nutrition Whey (I tried double chocolate) and EAS…

I need to print this out and hand it to all the foolish women at my work that are this 'soup diet' or that 'no carbs diet'. I've tried restricting myself in the past, it's torture. I rather focus on overall cals and macros and enjoy my ice cream. Great post, as usual.

Once again, thank you. I'll take a look at those both now.

Thank you both. I started reading the Stronglifts 5x5 so I'll finish that and see if there is a trainer I can use to train me in proper form.

I make my own: http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/01/09/better-than-nutella/ I usually spread it on waffles/bagels and pile on banana slices for breakfast.

I agree. I really liked You Are Your Own Gym (you can buy the app with workout programs/videos for about $3) but it I did have to start altering the workouts after about 6 weeks. They ask you to use your door for a lot of arm workouts and it turns out that a cheap apartment door will break if you put any pressure on it. I…

FitBit One has been voted by numerous sources as the best activity tracker out on the market. Hands down. I have the FitBit Ultra (and BodyMedia Link) and I absolutely love my FitBit. It's extremely accurate, syncs with MFP and gives plenty of useful data.
