I attempted to try NROLFW but it seemed too complicated and too many exercises for a beginner. I wanted something simple so I could get form down. I picked Stronglifts because it was simple but gave enough volume for me to work on form. Yes, it starts off slow but if you have very little experience with these lifts then it…

Greek yogurt (fat free), string cheese, deli meat, protein shakes, protein bars, protein powder

Good for you! What goal did you set for MFP? With only 5lbs to lose, a modest goal of 0.5lbs will be better for you in the long term.
-
Welcome back. 6 pounds isn't that big of a gain and you'll be able to drop that weight in no time. I do agree with cwlsr. Try to pinpoint what made you quit last time and what steps you can take to improve your chances of staying around this time around.

It is definitely worth a try. I tried the C25K app and hated it at first (ended up running/jogging too fast during those intervals) but eventually I grew to semi-enjoy it. I am not always in the mood for running and I'm very temperamental about it but one of my best accomplishments was completing a 5k and being able to…

What types of exercises? Bodybuilding.com has a list of strength related exercises including a description and pictures/videos. http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/list/index/selected/a

Clinical depression is not a choice.

Did you make sure to buy another small item too to bump the total over $50? Two quest bars are $49.98 so you need to buy something to bump it over $50. I bought dry yeast like the OP for $0.35 and everything worked fine.
-
You don't need a code. Click on the banner, select items that equal over $50 then check out. Then they will automatically take $25 off.

Can anyone look at their protein powders and suggest a good brand? I'd like to get more protein powder but they don't have the brands I'm used to.
-
I went to the site directly: https://www.swansonvitamins.com/ on Chrome and it worked fine. I only got it once because the two flavors I like are backordered. Thank you very much. I love stocking up on my quest bars.

I never understood the idea of trying to lose weight to prove something to an ex or get back at them. If that is your only motive then its most likely not to last. I am not friends with any of my exs. A few of them we simply just didn't get along romantically and ended it but still hung out with our group of friends.…

Destiny is a daily evening activity at our house. My BF is obsessed with it. I'd play with him too but they decided that local multiplayer wasn't a good idea. *grumble*
-
I love anime and occasional gaming. My bf is more into gaming than I am but I have been really into Diablo 3 right now. I'm actually watching One Piece right now. I recently started cosplaying but haven't crafted much of my own stuff yet. One day. I'm rambling... add me if you'd like.

It looks a bit high to me. I recommend doing a google search for TDEE and put your stats into about 5-6 then take the average. Thats what I did.

If you aren't losing weight yet MFP is saying you are then either 1. you have a medical condition 2. you aren't burning as many calories as MFP thinks you are 3. you aren't tracking accurately and are eating more than you are telling MFP. Either way... why do you care? Obviously you don't want to lose or gain weight so why…

I recommend Stronglifts 5x5. Good solid program with not too many exercises to learn and a good solid base.

If you only broke up with because he didn't say he loved you after two months.. then thats a problem. Different people take different lengths of time to say it. I don't think my boyfriend and I said it until around 4 months. I usually dont think being friends with an ex is a good idea. If its making you uncomfortable then…

The protein goal that MFP sets is usually really low. You should aim to go over it.

Alcohol does not affect weight loss. I believe you are probably underestimating how many calories you are consuming. Are you measuring your wine/alcohol correctly? Are you weighing your solid foods on a food scale?
-
I log raw unless the packaging says to weigh it cooked. Just pick a method and stick with it. Consistency is key.
-
Welcome! First things first, if you are not used to exercise your body is probably retaining water. Keep up your routine and give it a few weeks. Are you eating back your exercise calories? That is the difference between what MFP tells you and the TDEE method. 1. MFP: Sets your goal calories using just the activity level…

I haven't had the surgery but I've had three family members that have. My grandma, uncle and mom all had the surgery and they all gained the weight back plus more. In my experience, the doctors don't teach you how to change your lifestyle for weight loss. They just give you a goal and a deadline and think that if you can…

When I went there I would do 15-20 minutes on weight machines then 30 minutes on the elliptical. Weight loss is due to calorie deficit and you don't need to do exercise to lose weight. Just pick a program that you can stick with and you will see results.
-
It means that your goal was to lose one pound (3,500 calories deficit) however you ate 440 calories less than you burned instead of 3,500. You went over your goal by 3,060 calories.
-
I would only weigh myself in the mornings but it was every day and it was controlling my life. I'd be happy if I lost weight and my day would be ruined if I gained or stayed the same. I got rid of my scale until I no longer cared about the number on the scale. It look about a month. I focused on my health, my fitness, etc.…

Doubt it, more like 250 or under. Hard to say though. You aren't going to get the results you want from just doing cardio. You need to add resistance training to your workouts. If not, you'll just be a slightly smaller version of yourself. Lifting heavy using a barbell program is the fastest and my personal favorite way to…

Calories in < Calories out = weight loss. Exercise helps with health, strength training helps keep your existing muscle. Exercise allows you to eat more calories. The first time I tried to lose weight (in 2010 I believe) I did not do any exercise at all. I ate 1200 (500 less than my TDEE since I was completely inactive)…
