  • Greek yogurt, cheese, protein bars, protein shakes, chicken, turkey, beef, meat, etc. In the beginning I had to plan out what food I need to hit my protein goal then once that was hit, pick the rest of the food for the day. Now its second nature to me and I do a good job of picking high protein foods out of habit.
  • i suggest reading these two topics: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/819055-setting-your-calorie-and-macro-targets With 15 pounds, it's safer and better in the long run to stick with 0.5lbs-1.0lbs/week
  • Just watched a video by Rippetoe training some folks on how to do the press and wow did I learn a lot. Thanks for this question, it led me to hopefully a stronger OHP
  • I'm currently at 40-45minutes. I do 3 sessions of Stronglifts 5x5 a week. I take shorter breaks on my first exercise (Squats) and longer breaks on my second and third exercise (OHP takes the longest breaks cause they are hardest for me) because I'm more tired at that time.
  • Your TDEE calculates your exercise calories in with the total number so you would eat 10% minus your TDEE (or whatever percentage you decide). You wouldn't add extra calories. If I have a bad week or am sick, I will recalculate my tdee using sedentary/light active and eat that for the week. Usually my exercise stays the…
  • HRM are only meant for steady cardio so they cant estimate heavy lifting calories burned. You are better off using a TDEE calculator and going off that vs what your HRM says as it can be inaccurate if you don't use it with the correct exercise. You may burn less calories doing heavy lifting than cardio but your body will…
  • day 1: Raspberry talenti gelato with lemon pudding cake, ice cream waffle taco day 2: soft chew caramels, chocolate eggo waffle with biscoff cookie spread. day 3: Bryers chocolate oreo ice cream with chunks of dark chocolate w/ sea salt spread on top.
  • Interesting. I've never had a good Quest bar from GNC but it could just be my area. They are way overpriced compared to the Vitamin Shoppe and Nutrishops that are in my area. I've never gone into a GNC with more than 2 shoppers but the other stores always have a lot of foot traffic. i can understand the texture. My…
  • Just a side note about Quest bars; the freshness dramatically affects the flavor. If you are buying them somewhere that sells them for $3/bar then they probably don't sell out often and don't restock them often so they can get stale. Cinnamon Roll was my favorite flavor if I bought them directly from the Quest website but…
  • Weighing is so much easier than using measuring cups in my opinion. Saves on dishes too. It's just a habit of mine now. I'd probably bring my scale with me when eating out if I wasn't afraid of damaging my scale during the transportation. I may buy a smaller portable scale just for that purpose. I weigh out my fast food…
  • Yesterday I had lemon puddling cake with Talenti raspberry gelato followed by a chocolate chip eggo waffle with chocolate ice cream inside.. my own take on the waffle taco.
  • Twix Ice Cream bars are my favorite ice cream of all time. I get so excited when I find one since my local grocery stores dont stock them and I have to go out of my way to find one.
  • I think the important debate here is how do you measure your peanut butter? Bread/spoon on scale, tare then put peanut butter on until you get your weight or Put jar on scale, tare then scoop out peanut butter until negative weight is how much you want. I never thought about putting the jar of peanut butter on the scale…
  • ^^This Also, in your profile picture you don't look bigger, fluffier, larger, bulky, etc. compared to your man. You guys look like you fit well together in my opinion. My boyfriend is the same height as me and I don't think it makes me look any bigger in comparison.
  • I do agree it can strain the relationship a bit as there have been times where I'm trying to explain something and I use phrasing that he doesn't understand and can't relate to or he just doesn't get it and it gets heated for a minute. But we get over it quickly and by the next set we are good. I worried a bit that his ego…
  • I started heavy lifting on my own and got comfortable with it. My boyfriend expressed interest in wanting to do some form of exercise and after not liking a DVD program he tried, he tried weight lifting with me. I taught him the lifts and he seems to like it. He's only been going with me for awhile but I enjoy myself a lot…
  • Pendlay Row is a stricter version of the Barbell Row where your upper body stays completely parallel.
  • They are remodeling shortly and are getting new equipment. The staff doesn't know what they are getting yet but they said that many people mention that they need more bars and power racks so we will still.
  • Question for all you lifting folks. My gym only has one power cage, two flat bench press and one include bench press. There are no extra Olympic bars for ground work. My Workout B consists of squats, OHP and deadlifts. I need the power cage for squats and OHP but I could use the bar from the power cage or one of the…
  • OHP in the power cage is acceptable use as well as squats. Honestly our gym only has one power cage and no extra olympic bars so many people use the power cage for squats, OHP, rows, deadlifts and a few other exercises.
  • 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe in Volcano Red. My baby.
  • I lift following the Stronglifts program three days a week.
  • Bland and unmemorable? Wow, aren't you a bag of sunshine.
  • I suggest lifting heavy with compound movements such as squats and deadlifts. Starting Strength or Stronglifts are good beginner programs to follow and they get results.
  • It really depends on your preference. Fitbit One: Clips onto your clothes, is not waterproof, shows stairs climbed. Good if you can remember to put it on your clothes, don't like things on your wrist, don't want it on your wrist, like being able to click and see your stats. Fibit Flex: Wrist worn, is waterproof and you…

  • My boyfriend hits on me all the time. But seriously, nope. I'm usually either with my boyfriend or with a guy family member though and rarely out by myself or with other ladies. On the rare occasion I've been hit on in the past it blew right over my head and I had to be told I was being hit on afterwards by a friend.
  • you could try other protein powders and make shakes or just mix with water, you may find one you like. Quest bars, greek yogurt, cheese, beef jerky are some good protein snack ideas. You could also add grilled chicken to your salads. You can have a bigger breakfast in the morning and eat eggs, sausage or bacon in the…
  • I usually have 800-100 calories left for the afternoon but I like to have dessert every night and that's usually around 300 cals.
