  • One thing I recently did that turns my tuna tasty (and I like to keep things simple.. =P) is the following: 1 can tuna (I use white albacore 10oz) 2 tbsp salsa (I use Arriba! fire roasted salsa) 1/4 cup shelled pistachios ends up being about 75 calories per serving for a 10oz can (1/4 cup serving)
  • lol, guess I'll just bake my own then so I know what's truly in my cookies.... seriously, thanks for pointing it out. I didn't really research too deeply on them just that it sounded like a viable alternative (last summer). After doing more looking around online after reading your response, it does seem like it has caused…
  • I've given up on Chips Ahoy cookies.... I've replaced them with WhoNu? cookies... ;) I used to eat an entire container of Chips Ahoy cookies and have enough milk to go down with them when they were in the house. I still have my cookies and milk, but only as a treat sometimes (one serving). =) I've cut back on many other…
  • definitely gotta try this! thanks!
  • I eat mine back focusing on protein and potassium after a good workout... typically. It just works for me when staying "around" the number they give for net calories consumed. (Taking into account caloric intake for the day and any activity outside of the "norm".. aka exercise, cleaning house, etc.) I'm 4 lbs from my goal…
  • I would recommend having a sleep study done (as others have recommended)... it's worth it to make sure you're actually resting while you're asleep. I would definitely start there. I had the same type of issues throughout my 20's and finally went to a sleep doctor at 30. I have sleep apnea as well and have been using a cpap…
  • lol, I wasn't saying she did. That was more to the point of "eat whatever I want". Sorry for not spelling it out.
  • I've been battling a low HDL for almost three years (22, never able to get it above 30), my LDL was originally around 205 and it seemed to have come down fairly quickly to around 110 due to the medication my doctor prescribed. I've been on Simcor and I think that "helped" the LDL, but recently I hit my 30lb lost mark and…
  • 1200 calories of brownies sure does sound tasty, but yeah... you need to still be sensible about what your body needs. I track potassium a good bit along with some other things. I still generally just eat what I prefer along those lines and everything just kinda falls into place and my weight loss keeps moving right along.
  • I needed to lose about 40 lbs and I have already lost 30 of them since June (4 months) simply by only watching my caloric intake every day with the site. I still drink my beer. I still eat what I like, but watch portions instead. I stopped exercising and will pick that back up pretty hard once I lose 10 more pounds to…
  • It's amazing what you realize when you start tracking things. lol
  • I don't think I would do as well if I stopped using MFP. For me it's just like any other tool to make things more manageable. I intend on using it for as long as I can and it's a part of my daily routine. =)
  • I had to stop exercising because I stopped losing weight. That was 12 lbs ago (early August). I haven't exercised since, but I maintain healthy eating habits. My plan is to get to my "ideal" weight and then go into workout/maintenance mode. I believe exercise is crucial to being healthy as well as a healthy diet, but for…
  • The only advice I would give is to try to divert focus to other activities... any hobbies? Personally, I'm a musician and I pick up the guitar to take my mind off things... I go out... meet with some friends, have a beer. Just live. I know it's not as easy as that sometimes, but it sounds like you're doing awesome with…
