It opened in another window - maybe if you have a popup blocker it didn't play for you. Unfortunately I have nowhere near enough expertise to comment but I'm curious to hear what the more knowledgeable people have to say, so BUMP.

Sort of related - I knew I wasn't supposed to be lifting in my running shoes, but I kept forgetting every time I went to the gym. Earlier this week I FINALLY remembered. I did one set of squats with my shoes on, and then "Oh, yeah!" I took them off and did the other four sets in my socks - I was amazed at the difference. I…

Putting plates down is a great idea. The girl in this photo still doesn't have her feet flat though - is that okay, or a no-no?

Question about this - I'm short, and I honestly can't plat my feet flat on the ground when I'm on the bench. It's so uncomfortable that I seriously just pull my feet up and rest them on the bench with me. Is this totally ruining everything?

I would log them as circuit training.

Um...

My second time at spin class ever, we were pushing hard out of the saddle and my knee just buckled and I fell off the bike entirely. Luckily I didn't hurt myself but yes, embarrassing.

My weight has been exactly the same for days and days and days... .2 sounds AMAZING to me. Congrats!!

I don't really have people talking to me about my size. When does this happen to you?
-
Protein, fiber, vegetables. Eggs, yogurt, cheese. (I'm not quite reaching my protein goal, but I'm coming close and I pretty much never eat chicken.) High fiber cereal. If I drink too many of my calories I'm hungry. I have to be careful about protein drinks for that reason. Everyone will tell you 1200 is too low, and it…

It's totally mental. I have a mental block on deadlifts because I hurt myself doing one once. When I hit a certain weight, I'm suddenly terrified and I'm having a tough time getting past that weight. And I also have the same thing with squats - just because failing once wasn't so bad doesn't mean I want to find out what…

How long ago did you lose the weight? How much did you lose?
-
You know, I failed a squat for the first time a month or so ago. It was something that freaked me out, I didn't even know how that would work. But I was in the squat rack, and I had the bars at the appropriate height, and when I couldn't get up, I just let go and... everything was fine. It was such a non-event, I was…

Uh, wow. Okay.

He doesn't. He loves derailing threads, spewing nonsense and then feeling superior when no one understands what he's talking about.

Keep working out. Exercise actually helps the soreness go away. If it's so uncomfortable it's interfering with regular activities, it's totally fine to take some ibuprofen or whatever OTC pain reliever you like. Stick with your workout routine and the soreness will gradually get less and less. You'll reach a point where…

Hugs. I feel you.

You've lost 10 pounds since February 28 - is that correct? I've also lost 10 pounds. I started mid-January. I eat 1300 calories a day, rarely eat back exercise calories. When I do, it's never more than 100-200. Maybe one day a week I eat closer to 14-1600. I hear you. It's slooooow. Don't give up. I'm not going to give up.…

While this is true: I fail to see how it leads to this:

Nothing right now, but I started Wayward Pines on Hulu yesterday. I'm intrigued.

Depends on what you like better. If the difference is between paying to run on a treadmill and running outside, running outside would win every time. But there are things I can only do at the gym that I really love. The best exercise is the one you will actually do.

Yes! I got eliminated at "not your basic white girl." :( Although my teeth aren't all that exciting either.

If we're talking instantly, not after a conversation or getting to know someone, but just based on that very first glimpse? I'm all about that beard, yo.

It's more that my back just genuinely feels weaker than my legs/lower body. But you guys are right - I'm overthinking it and I'll keep doing the program as it is. Although I am going to try to incorporate more yoga and stretching into my regular routine. I think that will help. I also had an amazing massage yesterday! Both…

I'm another 40/30/30 girl. I chose that a few years ago back before I really knew much of anything, because that's the ratio that The Zone diet is based on. Even though I'm not really following that diet, that macro ratio seems to work pretty well for me. Although I still have some tweaking to do to consistently reach my…

I agree with everyone above. I think you're more likely to get the results you want by eating at maintenance and lifting heavy. If that's you in your profile pic, it definitely doesn't look like you need to lose.

If she's like me, she doesn't want recipes. Recipes mean cooking. And ingredients. Uck. I stick to foods I can prepare in less than 10 minutes. No recipes needed. Bacon and eggs. Tuna melt. Can of soup. I have a frozen breakfast burrito every morning - heat it up, eat it in the car on the way to work. Lunch is always…
