Hi Southernb3lle, you can feel free to friend me. I'm not technically at maintenance right now. Doctor has given me OK to drop 10 more pounds so I'm working on that now. But I promised her I wouldn't go any lower. I'm 58, male, 5'10" and 180 pounds. I did this once before in 2010 and got to 170 and went into maintenance,…

I just got one last week (Charge HR). It was a reward for doing so well at my last doctor's appointment. I'm not quite at maintenance yet (still have about 12 pounds to go), but it sure has motivated me to do even more than I was doing. Just hit my first 20,000 steps in a day!

Just got my Fitbit Charge HR last week. I'm loving it. //www.fitbit.com/user/3TBSFL

I actually haven't changed my eating habit too much. I usually only weigh in once a week and that will be Sunday this week. I ate at Popeye's last night so I'm drinking lots of water today to flush out some sodium plus really restricting my salt intake today.

I just purchased it on November 7th and the numbers just looked so high. I'm going to give it some time and see how things go. Thanks everyone!

Yep, that's me too! Always in the bathroom. I drink 48 oz. of water daily and 24 oz. of decaf tea. I also drink 20 oz. of Diet Coke (I know, it's not really good for me), and usually 12 oz. of Minute Maid Lite 5. That adds up to 114 oz. a day. I'm operating on one kidney, so I need to keep things flowing.

Another NSV was that I was able to fit into my 32x29 jeans and wear them out.

Got a couple: 1) went to the doctor on Friday. She hadn't seen me in six months. I had lost 46 lbs. She asked me what I was doing and said to just keep doing what your doing. Also my BP went from 139/86 to 122/72. I'm still on BP medicine, but she talked about possibly looking at reducing the dose. Little does she know, I…

@langda, Thank you for your quick reply. I don't want to overeat, because I am trying to get to a healthy BMI. I kind of had to talk the doctor into letting me go to 170. She was a little hesitant, but when I told her I would stop at 170, she looked at her chart and said that would be OK. My next problem will be going into…

Also, I sit at a desk all day, so I'm marked sedentary. Still, I've been able to get over 15,000 steps in 3 of the last 4 days.

I just purchased a FitBit Charge HR. How accurate are these for Cardio? I'm walking anywhere 6 - 8 miles in a little less than 2 hours. So that is pretty fast. Still, I'm getting over 10,000 steps and getting a burn that FitBit shows over 1200 calories. Is that really even close? I'm still in weight loss mode, but I've…

The "at least 1000 calories" is net calories.

The things I probably miss most is peanut butter and macaroni and cheese. I will have them on rare occasions (maybe one of them every 6 weeks or so), but I usually can't justify the calories.

I'm getting pretty close. I've lost over 60 lbs. and I want to lose another 15. I've done this once before (lost 90 lbs. in 10 months), but I got lazy. I could blame it on all kinds of thing, but they would just be excuses. I now know that I will probably have to track for the rest of my life and I'm OK with that. How do I…

@H34v3nlSin, Yeah, but you don't want to find it again (like I did),

I'm at 186 right now and 5'10". I'm able to wear a medium top now and I'm wearing 34 waist jeans. I can get into a 32 waist pair of jeans, but they are just too snug now. By the time I get down to 170 (my UGW), I should be wearing 32 waist jeans.

I went to the doctor's office to get my BP checked. It was 213 over something back in March with no medication. I'm now on medication and back in May it was 139/86. I went in today and it was 124/73 with a pulse rate of 56. I'm so happy and maybe they will get me off the medication (Amlodipine 10 mg daily) soon.

Just as FYI, I go to Subway almost every day and I get either a 6-inch BLT or a 6-Inch Oven Roasted Chicken breast on wheat with lettuce, tomato, onions, green peppers, and black pepper. I also get Utz BBQ chips (regular) and Diet Coke (bottle). I'm on a slightly restricted sodium diet (doctor wants me to keep it under…

I'm in 34 waist jeans. On a whim, I tried on my 32's this weekend and they fit. They are a bit snug and I wouldn't wear them out yet, but they fit.

Just stay with it. You've actually done the hard work already. Now you have to maintain. This is just another task you have to accomplish. And you can do it! I'm one of those who gained all the weight back. I had gone from 250 to 160 in 10 months back in 2010. I looked at the scale this March and I was back at 250. I could…

I really like that. Once I get to my goal weight, I think I'll employ a similar method. Thanks!

I saw a new one today. I saw a motorcycle rider take both hands off his handles pull out his smart phone and start looking at it going 60 MPH!

I work in the IT field. What do you do?

I live in Burke, Virginia (near Springfield, VA) but work at Annapolis Junction, MD.
-
Yeah, I lost 90 pounds in 2010. But the dang pounds found me and I started over again in March. I'm not only going to lose them, I'm going to exterminate them! :)

Way to go!!!!

Feel free to add me too!

How much food you can/should (according to MFP) eat a day. I have a 2 pieces of fruit, a can of vegetables, a Greek yogurt, a Subway sandwich with chips, a boiled egg, 3 oz of nuts/trail mix, a granola bar, and 7 -8 oz. of meat (steak, salmon, chicken, lean pork chops). And to top it off, I still have a few hundred…

Well, to replace just water, I like to drink Minute Maid Lemonade 5. It only has 5 calories for a 12 oz. can.

Unfortunately, I can't deal with the sodium (doctor says I should keep below 2000mg a day). Most all Chinese food is off limits.
