Welcome! I'm also 5'1 and started at 160. I'm down to 146 now. I love new friends so feel free to add me!

Eww, I looked it up and it came back with photos! :)

I'm 5'1, 148. I'm fairly active, runner, rider. I usually do at least an hour of activity (mostly riding my bike now, after a running injury I'm trying to heal), about 5-6 days a week. Before my injury, I'd run anywhere from 3-8 miles, was training for a marathon, which is the reason I switched from WW to MFP. I wasn't…

You could be building muscle mass. Muscle is denser than fat and takes up less space, so while you are losing fat, the heavier muscle is keeping the scale from changing.

Nope. I've tried too many to know better :)

I will never give up diet soda. I've lost weight pretty consistently.

Losing weight and toning the middle. You can't spot reduce. Try body wraps.

I'm not 300 pounds. But I've done it and it is really hard on my knees. There are a lot of jumping jacks and squats and lunges and I would imagine that it would be very difficult for a heavier person to do it because of that. I've never made it passed like day 5 because it hurts in a bad way too much.

In all reality, we don't really need "extras" to lose weight. If we ate like we were supposed to and moved like we were supposed to, everything else would fall into place.

My mom is the same way. It can be frustrating but know you are doing this for YOU and that is all that matters! And prove to her that you won't put it all back on. To me, that's the best payback!

I find when I eat my exercise calories, I lose better.

Muscle is more dense than fat, so if you are gaining muscle mass, you will lose inches but gain on the scale. That is why the scale should not be the end all, be all determination of your success. I have lost only 11 pounds but I have gained a lot of muscle mass and have lots several inches all over and dropped two dress…

And what happens when they start to eat normally again? they gain the weight back and more. Been there, done that. I believe the key is to have a healthy relationship to food.

You have some serious issues going on. First off, you are a healthy, normal weight. The fact that you think your fat is a problem. Next, you need to remain consistent with your eating. I don't think you're eating enough. You have a deficit of that many calories, your body will not perform well, nor will you feel well, and…

I like to cruise the health and fitness boards on Pinterest for good healthy recipe and food ideas.

If you are truly hungry, eat. Save up some calories for it, since you know you want to eat then. I eat right before bed and I"m perfectly okay with that. If you are just eating out of habit, find something else to do.

I didn't read all the replies but I'm sure this has been said. GB surgery will not stop your bingeing. You can and will still binge after you've had it. I've known several people who have had it, not changed their eating habits, and gained all their weight back. A nutritionist and/or a counselor sounds like more of what…

Mine is set at 1200. I am working to lose 1.5 pounds a week. I usually earn about 300-500 calories per day with exercise, which I eat. I have found that if I eat those extra calories, I lose faster than when I don't.

I don't think you're eating enough. You are choosing a lot of processed, higher calorie, or higher fat foods which will cause you to be hungrier, and it is harder for your body to process it so you will hold onto it longer. Try to make one or two healthier choices a day. Try making some of your own meals, instead of a…

I'm 5'1 and 159. I really need support and encouragement. This is not the first time I've lost weight but I just can't seem to get started this time.
