  • I've done a few! I like the dance moves. It's good to do on a rainy evening to get my steps up.
  • 35 min interval training with weights via YouTube plus 30 min slow run. The penultimate run of couch to 5k!
  • Are you measuring the calorie burn from exercise by a HRM or by what it says on here/the machines? If I run on a treadmill for 40 mins the machine says I've burn around 500 calories but my HRM says 300. Also a spin class can say you burn "up to 800 calories" in a class but again I'm more likely around the 300 mark.…
  • I've just booked a half marathon for September.... My first one! I've done 10ks previously but not for over a year. I've been running 2- 3 times a week for the past few months varying 2- 5 miles so I think I should be ok. Just need to start gradually increasing a long run once a week! Am looking at training plans now.
  • Personally, I just use what fitbit says and I don't log anything else. I either run or lift weights. I also try and walk as much as I can. Its hard to judge the calorie burn from weights so I don't log anything and I've found my HRM tends to match (roughly) what my fitbit says. I'd rather have a conservative estimate on…
  • I have half a carton of soup and a couple of boiled eggs. I vary the soup to keep it interesting.
  • I've had Type 1 for nearly 20 years and this is spot on. We can eat what we want, its better to not have a haribo party though as its hard to balance it out afterwards. I also find coffee really affects me. Having coffee in the morning tends to cause a big spike even if that's the only thing I've consumed. Tea is fine,…
  • I'm the same! Doesn't really matter what I eat during the day but as soon as I get home I'm the Queen of grazing. So I try to leave as many calories as possible for the evening and make sure I have things to have a healthy snack as soon as I get in. Wholemeal toast with cottage cheese and marmite and a mint tea was last…
  • I had a surgery in March which was meant to take two weeks to recover from. Eleven weeks later I was finally healed and able to start doing gentle exercise. I'd like to say I was careful and didn't put on any weight but I put on 6kg. It was a really rubbish time and I couldn't leave the house much for the first month so I…
  • I have a desk job from 8 -5 every day with a 20 min train commute and 15 min walk each side of the train. I get up 15 mins earlier than I need to and walk to the next station. Then I get off the train a stop early. That's 60 mins walk before work. Its a struggle when its cold and wet but you get used to it! I have a radio…
  • A friend of mine lost 10 kg doing it! I couldn't do it though, too restrictive. She has put on 5 kilos since going back to normal eating and is trying to do it again with varying amounts of success.

  • Five minute walk down four flights of stairs. Its in the basement of my office. No excuses sadly!!
  • I can recommend cucumber and lemon water! Leave it in the fridge overnight for a tasty morning drink.
  • I found not going out helped! Good luck in the pub! I did go to a cheese and wine night a few weeks ago and brought my own grape beverage. It was made easier as quite a few others weren't drinking either. Find a nice non-alcoholic drink to have and stick with that.
  • Good work! I did dry January and still haven't had any alcohol. I like feeling fresh in the morning. My diet has improved, no hangover induced fry ups. Not missing it at all! Its nice to have a break but don't think I could do it permanently.
  • Nope! As long as you've linked your fitbit it will add these burnt calories on for you.
  • I'm type 1 diabetic and can confirm that diet drinks so nothing to my blood sugar, so in a non-diabetic I wouldn't have though it would "spike the release of insulin" :)
  • I boil a load of eggs every sunday and keep them in the fridge at work. Try to get at least 2 a day in.
  • I aim for 15,000 a day, usually achieve it on weekdays. If I get 10,000 on the weekends I'm pleased with that. Most I ever got was 47,000 when I was on holiday in Paris and walked all day! Sadly my fondue and crepe consumption cancelled that all out...
  • I'm not sure how accurate it is. Mine sometimes adds over 1,000 calories if I've been really active. Today I'm on 355 already.
  • I am too! Its so annoying... Have a great diet day and then a low out of nowhere....
  • I had the same issue. Contact Polar online and they'll tell you to send it all in and they'll check it all. They sent me a new strap and now it works fine. Annoying though isnt it!
