There is no magic hour. Eat when your body needs fuel! I eat early. I eat late. I usually eat a light meal around 10 or even 11 p.m. I eat something every 2 hours or so that I'm awake. If I don't eat before bed I usually wake up hungry an hour or so later or, worse, lay awake trying to sleep. Its not worth it...when I'm…

Aw, thanks. Any time. This whole site is filled with amazing, open hearted people. Thanks Jackeh for this thread.

My dad got carded at 55:laugh: I think the store clerk didn't look up before he asked because my although my father looks good, he had grey hair. But the clerk held firm and demanded to see his ID. I wish I'd witnessed that.

Congratulations This post - along with already knowing I needed to - got me to the gym this morning. I was delayed at home with the kids and when I got to my office by a coworker just back from a trip to Japan and China...so I got started late but I still went. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical and felt marvelous. My bike…

Oh, Tam! OF course. She and her family are on my list.

((hugs)) prayers on their way for all involved.

For 2400 calories I would eat 6 - 8 (probably 8) meals of about 300 calories each. I tend to eat small meals and snacks all day long from 6 a.m. until 10 or 11 p.m. Look at total calories and also keeping the foods balanced, not too much of any type of food. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains, high quality meats, these…

I LOVE exercise, but it is my biggest challenge. In fact, since tracking my food for a month and a half I'm dead on without trying. I'm balanced, eating enough, not too much, blah blah blah. It's all about how my exercise decreased from 5 - 7 miles of running and weight lifting daily to a mere 1/2 hour bike commute since…

Please donate and donate often. My son had six units when he was three days old during his heart repairs. You never know whose life you will save.

Aww, poor guy.

I just bought him a middle of the road (no pun intended) pair with a decent amount of cushioning. I bought it on sale for about $45. He is still a bit shy about wearing them...but when he bike commutes he does wear them gratefully.
-
Congratulations. Best wishes to you and your family.

Okay, I have to ask, but I don't want to know the answer... this is a private matter between you and him... did he also buy cycling shorts? does he know how to wear them? When my dh biked with me a few time his backside hurt so I bought him cycling shorts with lots of padding. And then the debate began (okay all you gutter…

Its like this, if you look at empty railroad tracks you don't know which direction the train is running.

Woot, Shorerider! I knew I liked you!

I remember my mom turning thirty and freaking out. I got there (a few years ago) and could not figure out why she had felt that way. Come on, now, fifty is the new thirty. You've got 20 more years before the "new thirty". Really. :flowerforyou: Seriously, I personally know some knock-out drop dead gorgeous…

You can also microwave it or bake it...I've done both and they both work well.

edit: It looks like this topic has gone off in a number of directions while I was typing an answer to one of the questions asked... We are friends here. There are plenty of issues to be concerned about, so I'll remove my long post and get back to work. :flowerforyou:

LOL, um...well it is probably the same...chemical names are pretty universal. I've skimmed over journal articles in German (and I don't know German) and found the information I've needed because it is so similar. I might be able to give it to you with an Irish or English accent (DH is Irish) but I have rarely heard a…

My home town has around 375 people. You have to cross a cattle guard to get in and out of the town...which is otherwise surrounded by fence. I believe this is the only town in the USA to be completely fenced in. Butte Falls, Oregon. When I was born, my great grandfather was a pastor there, one grandfather owned the general…

I thought I was a picky eater...turns out I just didn't like my mom's cooking. I *am* picky in that I like high quality food well prepared. I am *picky* in that I have food allergies and can be hard to feed (no wheat, dairy, eggs, garlic, almonds, or green beans...I know, weird combo...) My DH and DD will eat…

http://obamasresume.org/ Here is the link to the US Senate Legislation and Records http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/legislative/a_three_sections_with_teasers/votes.htm There is lots of information out there, it just takes hours and hours and hours to get past all the inaccuracies and misinformation. I try to go to the…

Princess I'm doing a LOT of research. I go through all their voting records - not what they say they will do. I've noticed a lot of misinformation out there. I'm doing a spreadsheet and comparing. I am also comparing when they change their stance on an issue, and why. I also have a column on how well I understand the issue…
