  • I have the Polar FT4 and LOVE it!! It wasn't all that expensive either Once you get one, you won't regret it :-)
  • Welcome, from a fellow upstate NYer (now in central VA)!!! I hope you find this site as encouraging and inspirational as I have. There really are people here to help you accomplish your goals. You are NOT alone in this!
  • You are going to LOVE it here! This place is truly unique. And the people here are amazing! Welcome! :-)
  • Looking GREAT! I'm so glad to hear that you are over the plateau! Keep going, never give up and you WILL get to where you want to be! :-)
  • I used to think this as well! MFP has change my thoughts on that though.
  • You really do look amazing! And this is such an awesome NSV :) You should be really proud of yourself. My thought on my journey is that as long as I eat right and exercise everything else will come....and I've felt such an improvement in just the last 3 months when I started. Keep at it girl and you will get to where you…
  • Not sure I can do the 1 armed push ups...but I'll do what I can. This is something that I have really been wanted to work on (my arms)! Now that I am back home I should be able to do this! :-)
  • This is awesome! You should be so proud!
  • I try to go walking/jogging in the morning if I can help it, but Monday's Tuesdays and Thursdays I have an 8am class. I have to get up at 5:30am just to be ready by 7 so I can drive to school. I don't think I could get up much earlier on those days! lol
  • My parents live in NY
  • I live in VA and I'm staying with my parents for another month. They have so much crap in the house I'm lucky I can get to my bed lol. Back in VA I was doing Jillian Michaels 30DS (which I finished before I came to NY) and 6week6pack. I LOVED those!!!
  • I think I could do this. But I have a stupid question. What are chair dips?
  • Thanks ladies! I may just go and pick it up tonight! I've heard so much good stuff about the Polar ft4 so I'm going to look for that!
  • I'm kinda glad I saw this today. I was feeling discouraged myself since I haven't lost anything at all this week. I did really well last month, but I haven't lost anything this month. Thank you everyone who posted something. I'm not a quitter by nature but this has been a real struggle for me since my knee surgeries 7…
  • I don't know about anyone else, but I've found that since I've joined MFP and decided to start this journey I've been more observant about this problem. I couldn't really see it before because I didn't want to face the fact that I needed to change. Now I want to run up to them and steal their chips, cookies and greasy…
  • I keep my cals around 1200-1400. Even on days I work out I try to keep things around this amount. There are days I have trouble even eating that so I don't push it. I try to eat a big breakfast-12 grain bread w/ peanut butter, plain greek yogurt with fresh fruit, and egg whites. Seems like a lot for breakfast and sometimes…
  • Awesome job! I finished my 30DS almost a week ago and I lost 25lbs! I even got a few of my friends to try it. So I hope your experience will inspire others to do it as well. Even though you only lost a little weight your results are much higher. I'm sure you gained a lot of muscle during that time. Congrats!
  • Seriously, you have nothing to be ashamed of. The person in the first pic is not the same person in the second one. You should be so proud of yourself. Keep up the great work. God Bless. ~Becki
  • Congrats! I know those NSV are perhaps what keeps you more motivated that the number on the scale. My parents saw me for the first time since Christmas yesterday and the first thing they said was how great I'm looking. I know it's different for your husband to say something than it is for my parents lol but it made me feel…
  • OH there are plenty of stops. It is such a looooong ride anyway...I HATE stopping b/c I have to go to the bathroom. I'd rather just stop to fill up my tank and keep going. I'll have to think about it. I'm evil to travel w/ for this very reason lol
  • You're going to love it here! Lots of support here and lots of people that love each other!
  • Welcome! Glad things are going well for you! Keep it up!!!
  • Thank you for being an inspiration to others on here. I always love looking at peoples success stories. It keeps me motivated to get up off my butt and exercise when I don't want to and keeps me from eating potato chips and cookies. So thank you!
  • Perhaps, but in high school the kids didn't like the fat kids. MFP is a different story :) lol
  • I had a hard time doing the girl pushups and jumping jacks in the beginning. However, I'm 2 days away from completing the 30DS and now can do jumping jacks no problem and the girl pushups are not as difficult. However when you get to level 3 you do "travelling" pushups which are much more difficult. I was able to do them…
  • You are a true hero and inspiration to us here of MFP. Your journey is and has been harder than most of us will ever be able to comprehend. So sorry for your loss. You truly are a remarkable woman to take such a tragedy and turn it into something beautiful God Bless.
  • Keep it up-You'll get where you want to be in no time!
  • Seriously, awesome job. You seem to have made this journey a life changing one. I can only hope that I too will be able to stay on this journey of healthy living. My ultimate goal is to be healthy by the time I'm 30. That's 1 1/2 years away (ummmm YIKES!!!!!). You are an inspiration.
  • Boneless skinless chicken breast almonds cottage cheese greek yogurt oatmeal any fresh veggies-the greener they are the better peanut butter eggs beans turkey bacon cheese thats all i can think of at the moment. But you'll learn to be creative w/ just those things!
  • When I first started this site I was weighing myself every day and was going crazy! I finally started to just weigh myself once a week, It's nice to see the numbers drop by 2-5lbs in one week!. The last time I weighed myself it was almost 2 weeks in between and will be about the same when I'm able to weigh myself again. I…
