i usually just keep my HRM going while i strength train. however, i never really log my strength training just running and cardio stuff. i usually just use my HRM during strength training as reference to keep my heart rate in my desired range.

Stick to the Fartlek workouts and tailor them to your liking. usually shorter bursts of speed and rest over a longer period of time will build speed. Thats what we used to do in cross country.

my digital scale will do that from time to time as well. i dont weight often but when i do its at the gym. or just walk into a UPS store ask them if you could stand on their scale. im sure theirs are accurate. they have to be its their job
