  • Thanks for the follow up. I guess alot of the calories is in the sugar component of the veges and fruit.
  • Ive lost about 12 pounds and it has come off my chest area and love handles. My face has trimmed up alot too. It seems there is a bit further to go until I can fit into some of my target shirts !
  • Check out this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/277301-new-to-tofu
  • Thanks for having the courage to share these photos. I understand it must have been difficult for you. However they are a great motivation for others in the MFP community. They show us what can be achieved if we really commit to it. Well done mate - really inspirational stuff !
  • Hi Tofu lovers.... What a great thread. Stir fry with tofu and veggies is definitely a great entry level recipe for new starters. For those wanting to try a few more tofu recipes - Here are a few additional ideas; MISO SOUP Miso soup is a great snack to have between meals. While it is best fresh - the instant Miso soup…
  • I would go back to tracking your calories - just dont get obsessive about it.
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!! What a great milestone for you....
  • This is a great thread - obviously opinions differ on this one. My wife and I make time every 6 months or so to help clean out each others wardrobes - when we do a "Queer eye for the straight guy" on each others clothes.. It is done in a very light hearted way - but the comments can get across none-the-less. And the ugly…
  • Well Im in an interracial marriage as well - with mixed kids - and my wife and I have been living in a different culture from our own for more than 10 years. I totally get what racial stereotyping means and do get affected by it myself. However - i think people have definately over-reacted to this thread. ... like....
  • Theres a tip for you. Just in case you were ever thinking of visiting Australia - maybe think again.... Aussies have a "No worries" lifestyle and the phrase is used alot !
  • Guys "gossip" does exist - but we dont label it as such. We just hang out and catch up. Our "juicy gossip" topics usually consist of the following: - girls - sport - girls - sport - girls - business - girls - travel - girls - etc Because most females find it offensive to listen to guys talking about girls - we just dont do…
  • I cant believe that they had to interview 120,000 people to come up with that list !! What a joke. Harvard PHD research dollars are going to waste !
  • Bro - you are really tempting fate. Commenting on newly purchased clothes is very dangerous. If your wife had just gone out and bought the skirt then she obviously thinks it looks great on her. If you really wanted to let her know i would have tried to tell her in a way that doesnt intimate that it looks bad. Perhaps…
  • I just ... like ... dont like it... like... when people cant talk ...like... without saying like.... like.... Honestly - that really sounds ****.
  • I am in the same situation as you - this is the first diet I have ever done... I have been on MFP for about 3 weeks now and it has been really great for me. Not only have i lost weight - but I have learned alot about the foods I am eating. Getting under my calorie goal everyday has become a fun and exciting thing to do…
  • I travel all the time and my best advice for you would be as follows; MORNING TIME IS YOUR TIME. If you are at conferences or catching up with friends then the time that you have the most control over is in the morning - as you are less likely to be catching up with others at this time. Make sure you use this time wisely.…
  • Porksiapo.... This is a naughty thread to put on a dieting website !! For me - I also love tzatsiki - but it would have to be my own homemade recipe and preferably left overnight in the fridge for the flavours to properly blend. BTW - I've never heard of Ranch sauce before - must be an American thing. Sounds popular…
  • I was about to log the same question on the forum - but did a search first and found this thread. I have just added sugars as one of the aspects that i track in my food diary and found that I am always over my sugar intake. Eating one small apple is 33% of my daily sugar target. Given that - It would seem that something is…
  • Hi to all of the Aussies out there... Im an Aussie guy living in Hong Kong. I have just joined recently and have only come across one Aussie so far - so happy to see this thread !
  • Great story !! Well done...
  • You should be eating back your exercise calories... It is explained here. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo I also do feel really hungry sometime too. I recently started a post about foods that make you feel full and that is located here…
  • Dear Julia, Thanks for your message ... much appreciated. I will add you as a friend. I do just the same as you ! I add foods that are similar to those that I am eating. It is not fantastic though is it - as the nutritional information is incorrect. I have found that you can create your own foods that reflect the calorie…
  • Thanks everyone - very helpful....
  • How about roasted sweet potato - 1 cup is only 180 cals and definitly filling
  • Be REALLY careful of any Chinese dishes that use a sauce - they are typically full of oil and salt. Try any of the clear soups - even a shrimp wonton soup is only about 150 calories. How about a steamed fish ?? Thats pretty hard to refuse....
  • chocky ... chocky ... chocky ..... give me the chocolate now.... !! I had a binge on caramello Koalas (caramel filled chocolate koalas) just today... Had to throw the rest of the packet away !!
  • Hi Ayesha... I am also trying to lose weight by December... It could work nicely if helped each other out along the way. I am an Australian architect and live in Hong Kong. Ciao for now.... Sandy
  • I think the posts above have caught the gist of the low cal drink options: Low cal mixers One good thing to do when you head out is to hit the dance floor. Besides having fun - and giving your soul some tonic - you will burn off enough cals in 10 minutes (66 Cals) to counter the cals of one skinny drink !! So get down !!!
