  • Actuallly...Arthur From biggest loser would eat two pizzas every night...he pretty much gained his weight from the horrible diet of pizzas. But I get your point. But a banana every morning is NOT detrimental to weight loss...
  • In the winter, I eat oatmeal EVERY DAY! I try to watch it so I don't get the kinds with aspartame in it so recently I started getting Oat Fit from Target, the maple and brown sugar kind. No added sugar and only 100 calories anddd it has flax in it! (gets ya regular! LOL) I just put in skim milk and nuke it in the microwave…
  • I am in the same boat (and height!) as you! We have very similar body structures only I completely lost my breasts and you seem to have luckily kept yours! You look fabulous! But, I feel you on "being at the weight where others start saying oops i need to lose some weight!"....I feel like NOW is the hard part because it is…
  • WTG! You look fabulous!!!
  • 1) Are you losing weight or maintaining? - I am trying to lose the last 18 pounds or so. 2) What and how do you weight lift? how many reps, how long in terms of time, what muscles do you work? I lift heavy. When I started out I started with 5lbs then raised it to 8lbs and now I realize I get more bang for my buck (really…
  • How exciting! I remember when I first saw that 1 in front on the scale, I damn near cried! Congratulations! I can't wait to hear all about how far you got by your wedding!
  • Im having the same problem, I hit 156 and all of a sudden the weight loss stalled. Must be something about those 150's! But keep at it! With that said, HOLY HOTNESS! You are beautiful and you look extremely healthy and such an inspiration!
  • LOL @ the OP! So true!! So my boyfriend is 6'5 and is trying to GAIN weight to gain muscle (and he totally copied off of me yesterday by joining MFP) anywayyyy he bought the white chocolate magnum bars on Sunday while we were grocery shopping. For the first two months of my weight loss he was very supportive and didnt'…
  • Not trying to bash anyone or criticize. Just give my opinion.... and it's this. I dont' think she was trying to bash or give non-constructive opinion. Her intent was well placed. Low carb diets have been PROVEN to not be sustainable. I've seen many friends go on, and lose it only to gain it back in the upcoming…
  • You probably did lose a LOT of water weight. That is normal and usually happens when you begin a new work out/eating regimen. I lost 7 pounds my first week and also had someone point it out to me lol, those negative people! Then I went online and did a lot of research. While I haven't lost 7lbs in a week since that very…
  • Another lady asked about those vitapaks from GNC the other day and this is what I responded with: As for GNC's Women's Ultra Mega Active...LOVE IT!! I know you spent a good amount of money on it so you don't want to hear that you were scammed, although everyone reacts differently to diff vitamins, I find these to be the…
  • I'm making something similar for dinner tomorrow! Extremely yummy!!!
  • Still don't understand those "Numbers" you were referring to but I'm going to let it go. Seriously? I've never been one of those people to go back and forth on a MB, esp this one. You can have your beliefs but I'm not going to cater to your demands all because you enjoy going back and forth...you have GOT to be young to…
  • If it will make you happy.... http://blogs.menshealth.com/meet-the-trainer/research-proves-you-can-gain-muscle-and-lose-fat-at-the-same-time/2011/01/03/ This lists 2 different studies of particular interest. and another: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,164412,00.html It's not impossible. And that is all I was saying.…
  • There are plenty articles and studies done on it. Just because, you didnt'? Doesn't mean others can't...even if it is just in the beginning. It is HARD, I'm not saying it's not. Any program is hard. You should try googling it, research it a bit...if you disagree, that's on you. Not me. Either way, I don't care. I wish you…
  • I believe that's basically what I said... 0.5-1 lb a month. Which in essence is about 12 pounds in a year. And like I said, that's WITH a LOT of strength training. So not sure what numbers you're referring to there....unless you read wrong? As for the rest of your statement, I also stated AT THE BEGINNING. So yes, it is…
  • This statement is not true. You can lose fat AND gain muscle. IF you are just beginning to lift for the first time...so at the BEGINNING of your new weight loss program/strength training, which is what happened to me. Yes of course it isn't going to be anything crazy like 3lbs in a month...at most a woman who regularly…
  • weight lifting helps. How could it hinder? It helps to shred fat. Ultimately, your goal should be to give your metabolism a kick (which weight training does) AND get rid of fat, not necessarily always about a number. However when it comes to eating calories, are you also eating your exercise calories? If you do a search on…
  • First, congrats on buying vitamins. I'm a firm believer in vitapaks! As for GNC's Women's Ultra Mega...LOVE IT!! I know you spent a good amount of money on it so you don't want to hear that you were scammed, although everyone reacts differently to diff vitamins, I find these to be the BEST vitapaks I have tried yet and I…
  • AMAZING! I am over here smiling SO big! You are around the same height as me and it is SO great to see a woman set a goal as lofty as yours and SEE IT THROUGH no matter how long it took, it's all about the health and you my friend, ARE THERE!! Congratulations and you are ROCKIN that bikini!
  • I DEFINITELY see the difference and it is awesome. WTG!
  • Wowzers! Seriously amazing! Way to get fit!
  • Don't even get me started on this! I gain anywhere from 2lbs to 6!!!! And once it is gone, I go back to normal and 2-4 days later I usually get a 2lb woosh downward! It is frustrating!!
  • Every day is one day closer to your goal. You have done so much already and quickly! Keep at it lady! You are sooo gonna reach it!!
  • Thanks so much everyone!!! Now if ONLY these last 20 would come off!!! I'm definitely going to be pushing myself harder than ever and so glad to have MFP to help me get there! First of all, congrats on your progress so far! Love that we are the same height =) As for your questions, yes, I work out, A LOT. When I first…
  • Looking GREAT!!!
  • He's treating you better because he's getting all of the benefits of a relationship without having to commit at all, in fact, he can tell you any and everything about his "other" life and you listen and deal with it.
  • Just as an aside, Rock Tape works WONDERS on shin splints!! It helped me push through them and still do boot camp =) Even tho they hurt like a MOTHER when the rock tape wasn't on! I ordered mine on amazon because believe it or not, even in NYC it's hard to find!
  • This is one of THE BEST stories I've read man. Keep it up! You have come oh so far and it's so great to know you are continuing on this journey!
