  • It won't let me delete, but I can't seem to upload the pic.
  • My tricks are 1) like you, bringing and eating a big salad and 2) nothing touches my lips that isn't worth it. And, oh, there will be things that are worth it. But don't eat a stupid Oreo cookie, just because it's there, you know? Do eat a reasonable, small portion of your aunt's lemon pie! Enjoy yourself, and don't worry…
  • Good for you! I wear bathing suits all the time. I'm big, but I just don't let it bother me.
  • I posted on our other board, but she sounds like no doctor that I've heard of. As far as docs know, missing periods isn't a big deal. (That's not to say that the root cause of missing isn't. High estrogen or testosterone or other hormones can have real affects.) I haven't had a period since 2007, but my PCOS is mostly…
  • Weight loss surgery certainly works for some people, but only if they can control eating and exercise. It was dangerous of her to recommend it without at least working with you first. Have you tried metformin for PCOS? I am on it and it alone resulted in a 20 pound weight loss. Also, you are going to have to cut carbs and…
  • I love me some rice and gravy, but rice is so high in calories, so I've been roasting veggies with roast beef (I know...blasphemy!) and eating just a little rice and gravy. I eat jambalaya at events or my mom's house, but I don't cook it. And we always do gumbo in the winter, so that's coming soon! But, yes, many of my…
  • I am from the Baton Rouge area.
  • I agree. Don't *try* to reach it. Honestly, it doesn't matter what I eat, without meds mine is bad. My dad (who eats really well and is in great shape) is the same way. Exercise is shown to help most people, though, so don't neglect exercise even if it isn't really helping you with weight loss.
  • I do a ton of jalapeno poppers, too. And I am definitely a tomato person. But my favorite food is chocolate, no doubt.
  • Coffee Salsa Peanut Butter and Company Dark Chocolate Dreams Baked Potato Oranges Strawberries Watermelon
  • Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I am melting. I just try to workout indoors or right after a thunderstorm. And I bring water (in an UGLY fanny pack :embarassed: ). I just note the normal calories.
  • This is actually really encouraging. My all time highest weight was right at 200 pounds, so I'm pretty happy at 194 after just about 6 weeks work, but it does seem really slow. I just wanted to make sure that people are actually losing!
  • We have an honor code? :noway:
  • I have a huge, disproportionate tummy ever since my kids were born. I hope exercise and calorie counting helps. I really would like to wear pants that aren't three sizes bigger purely because of my stomach. But I just keep reminding myself that this is what I got because of my kids. It's a scar of love.
  • I always try to have a veggie (carrot sticks or a romaine or spinach or cucumber salad with vinegar, unless I have leftover veggies to heat up from the night before), fruit (watermelon, berries, banana), and protein (usually leftovers from dinner or a frozen single serving of some crockpot food I made this month, like…
  • 1,200 is very drastic if you are just starting. Also, your diary shows a lot of food that isn't really satisfying. You must feel starving! No wonder you are going over. Why not set your goal at 1,400, plus whatever you earn with exercise, and use fruits and veggies and lean proteins to get that extra 200 - 400 a day? Once…
  • Some people just have different goals (or they suck, maybe  ). There are groups you can join to get support from other people with big goals. :flowerforyou: Try the 50 or More To Loose group. A nice group of people.
  • Bad days happen. Respond with dedication and strength. Forgive yourself and you will work through this!
  • I use a Neutrogena sheer foundation. Because it is sheer, it matches my skin tone while still smoothing out the appearance of my skin.
  • I eat about 200 calories or less for breakfast (usually coffee with a splash of cream and some toast with jam). I HATE eating breakfast, but I'm on meds that require it. Otherwise, I wouldn't.
  • Why only 1,200 calories? Are you a tiny person? How much are you losing per week? If you aren't tiny, you can go up a bit with little risk. Just keep tracking to make sure you keep losing. Also, try noting the times and feelings of hunger on your food log, along with when you last ate and what you last ate. I noticed that…
  • A skinny half coffee/half hot chocolate (made with Splenda, cocoa powder, skim milk, a dash of vanilla, a dash of salt) Whipped Jello sugar-free chocolate puddings A square of dark chocolate Strawberries or bananas or oranges drizzled in chocolate sauce
  • Maybe not a rest day, exactly, but change up your workout. Try 30 DS every other day and do something less taxing in between, until you work up to it. It's better than stopping altogether, you know?
  • I only log massive stuff, like an hour of scrubbing floors and tubs, or moving around lots of heavy furniture. I figure if I only do it about once a month or less, I can count it, especially if it leaves me too sore to exercise. Otherwise, I consider it normal movement.
  • I eat whatever I want and just count the calories. I don't eat foods that are simply filling anymore, much, like straight up bread, but mostly because I didn't love them anyway. I just ate them mindlessly. But I do love brownies, so I have a brownie. One. And whenever possible, I clean eat,. just because fruits and veggies…
  • Splenda - unlimited 20 calories worth of fat free half/half (2 TBSP) cocoa powder cinnamon nutmeg
  • I am plus size and I do yoga and pilates about once or twice a week. You won't be able to get into every single position, but don't let that worry you. Strive for good form and improvement. It will make you less likely to get injured, it will make you more toned, and I is a good low impact way to exercise.
  • True. My sister is a RD and director of nutrition services at her hospital. And skinny and a bad eater and annoying. Lol. The point is, find someone who is educated and who meshes well with YOU!
  • I eat my exercise calories. If I don't, I don't exercise. And my heart doctor and my internist both say that even if I don't lose a single pound, I HAVE to exercise. So I do. I set my calories at 1,800 and usually end up exercising and eating another 200. Under my TDEE and over my BMR, whether I eat 1,800 or 2,000.
  • On one hand, I have a spoonful of chocolate peanut butter almost daily, eat syrup with my waffles, and have butter on my toast. On the other, I feel more full when I eat *real food*, so I stir-fried veggies and ate fresh berries at lunch. For me, the combination works best. I plan out my suppers, since that is my biggest…
