  • Massage, mani/pedi, new purse or shoes or jewlery (those sizes don't change!). Spend a little money on yourself and avoid food as a reward. When I hit my goal I'm getting a 1.5 hour massage. Can't wait.
  • Welcome! I'm orignally from Sheffield so I know the area well. You're off to a great start keep it up!
  • Me either! It's my first one. Thanks! :)
  • Welcome! I'm also in the Cbus area!
  • This is one of the most inspiring stories I've read on MFP. Thank you for sharing and continuing to motivate those around you. Congrats on all your hard work!
  • Feel free to check out my diary. Some of my favorites are greek yogurt, chicken, tuna, EGGS (like lots and lots of eggs), peanut butter, almonds, etc. I have to supplement because my daily calorie goal ranges from 1300-1600/day and it's very hard to hit at least 100 g of protein with that little amount of calories through…
  • Beause I can't get over 100 g in protein with 1400-1600 calories a day to play with.... too short and small. I'm a big fan of Optimum Nutrition. So many flavors to choose from and lots of protein.
  • It's not my favorite thing in the world to eat, but if I'm going to eat a protein bar or a protein shake as a supplement it's by far the best I've ever tasted. That said I do sometimes have to force myself to eat it, but I usually have to with anything made of whey protein... it’s just got that funky whey taste to it.
  • Yep! Grew up in Sheffield Lake, my bother went to AHS before Avon exploded. Glad the snow ended up being a nonevent. Let's cross our fingers that's the last of it!
  • Yes. Love that place. Their wedge salad with steak (while not very healthy... lots of blue cheese and bacon) is one of the best things I've ever eaten. As for healthy, Northstar Cafe is by far my favorite. My favorite not healthy place is Starliner Diner in Hilliard. Best diner in town hands down. Their Cuban French Toast…
  • Never knew there was a group just for Ohioans. Glad I found it! Y'all ready for some more snow?! I for one miss my days of living in the South this time of year. Little about me... Grew up in a burb 20 mins west of Cleveland, went to college at Toledo, spent many years in Tennessee, and have been back in the Columbus area…
  • Good advice already said about upping your calories. You should also try upping your protein intake to 1 gram per pound of LBM (lean body mass) at a minimum. You can change the MFP setting yourself to better set your macro goals. Protein will keep you fuller longer and helps reduce the amount of LBM you lose when you lose…
  • I would venture to guess it would be nearly impossible or extremely difficult to get enough protein only eating 400-800 calories a day unless you're only eating protein powder, which would be unsustainable. Its easier to just eat more and make sure you're hitting your macros eating real food and only substituting with…
  • I wear my socks, but yes. Going shoeless in the office is awesome. I put them on to use the restroom, go to the breakroom, etc, but in my little space no shoes is the way to go.
  • Outdoors, hands down. I actually run faster and farther when I run outside. The breeze, the scenery, the aloneness. I get bored on a mill with the same view, the overwhelming heat, and sheer amount of people. I'll take just me and the pavement any day.
  • Please do not listen to this. You need to eat at least your BMR as it's the amount of food you need to just function on a daily basis. When losing weight you will lose LBM, but eating at least your BMR, hitting your macros, and lifting a few times a week will help limit this and that's a very good thing.
  • Nope. Kale is bitter.

  • Seriousy?! Some of us only can lose 1 - 2 lbs a month if we're lucky!
  • Like everyone else has said one day will NOT derail you. You couldn't even eat enough calories to gain a pound. (Beware that if you go out you might be ingesting a lot of salt and the scale will be high for a day or two). If you're really worried, avoid drinks like margaritas and heavily mixed drinks as they carry quite…
  • You know what you need to do. I have a friend who wanted children, her boyfriend was a HARD no on the subject. She got pregnant by accident, they got married out of obligation, and now they're divorced over it.... is that really what you want?
  • It wasn't until I quit BC that I had issues. I was on Yasmin for nearly 10 years and quit about 8 months ago. Ever since I’ve been holding onto roughly 5 lbs of water weight that just will not shed. At this point it’s been so long I’m over it, but the weight gain wasn’t/isn’t the worst part of quitting BC. I hate that I…
  • 20F or less won't happen for me (with or without wind chill). It was a brisk -2 this morning here (normally we average 37F in central Ohio this time of year). Needless to say I saw no one out for a morning jog and my neighborhood is jogging obsessed.
  • I will not run on cement. So.... if the sidewalk is cement then the road it is. If it's a nice asphalt sidewalk then I'll do the sidewalk. I always run with a RoadID however just in case I were to ever be hit by a car. EDIT: I should add my road running is all neighborhood streets. I would never run on a major road with…
  • Yay. Baseball cap on my head and a sweat band on my wrist or biceps. I sweat like a beast. The buffs look cool though... might give those a shot.
  • In. Not because I want to gain muscle while training for a half, but I don't want to lose it either.
  • Try almond milk. It only adds 20 calories tops if you go unsweetened. My personal favorite recipe is 1/4 cup steel cut oats, 1/2 cup almond milk, tablespoon honey and Greek yogurt, and 1/4 cup of frozen berries.
  • Unless you're weighing all of your food with a scale, I bet you're eating more than you think you are. Nothing else could explain this. FYI, you can also eat up to 2100 calories and lose 1.5 lbs per week at your height and weight.
