Love the Big Bang Theory reference above...I'm definitely more of a Leonard than a Sheldon! ;) I've always been a big geek!

Wow, reading this post made me realize that it's hard for me to target one part of my body that I dislike most! I guess I'm overall pretty satisfied with my body overall...which feels nice to say! I guess if I had to choose one area that I'd like to improve, it would be my tummy...I still have some jiggle there that needs…

I'm almost to goal...about 5 lbs away, and they are going to come off VERY slowly...so I feel I can respond to this. I didn't have terribly much to lose...only about 24 lbs total. Before I started this journey, I was really discouraged and depressed about the way that I looked. I was always very slender growing up, and it…

Wow!!! You are making me want to strength train!!! Your results are impressive, and your before pic looks a LOT like my body right now. It's amazing to think what I could look like in a month if I follow your plan! What type of plan did you use?

Your story is absolutely inspiring. I don't think I could have crossed that bridge, it looks SO SCARY! But you did it! You an AMAZING! Thanks for sharing!

I try to take a rest day between official c25k workouts. On my off days I just do some walking, without any jogging...gives my legs a rest! I've heard too much about injuries from pushing too hard, and that's the LAST thing I want...so I think I've been scared into submission!! LOL

I agree with LorinaLynn - I am anywhere from 4 to 8, depending on brand! Some of the 8's are barely zippable, where some of the 4's have a bit of wiggle room. It's crazy. FYI, my waist is about 28" and hips are about 37"!

I wish I had the confidence to wear something like this. I think I'd be too self conscious of flashing someone and probably wouldn't be comfortable in it...

It's a very cool program, I definitely recommend it. I am starting week 5 on Monday (after a rest day tomorrow) and am making progress every week. It really does work!

Hey there! I always HATED running. My endurance only let me go for 30 seconds before feeling like I might die! LOL But I've always been curious about running and admired the people I see running on the treadmill or out in the neighborhood. Through a bout of confidence and curiosity, I decided to try C25K to see if I could…

I love this picture. It's so nice to see that it's not easy for celebrities either. You can tell she worked out to the max, and yet she still looks glowing and beautiful. And I would bet good money that she works out this hard 6 days a week to keep that body!

I do believe that certain physical limitations can hinder someone from being a runner. I thought I was one those people who just wasn't able to run. I always hated doing the mile run on the school track when I was young. I can remember walking most of it, because after a minute of running I would feel like I was going to…

I finished Week 4 Day 2 today! It was surprisingly tolerable. I even did all intervals at 5 minutes instead of alternating the 3 minutes. I had to run the third interval entirely uphill, and it was TORTURE...my jog slowed down a ton, but I kept moving and didn't start walking! Getting nervous for week 5 though...*eek!*

You can totally do this, girl! I am in week 4, just completed day 2 today. It'll seem SO hard at first, but it really does get easier! Friend me, we can support each other!

Thanks everyone for the awesome responses! I will try that breathing pattern that you guys mentioned. Honestly, this week was my first time getting the side stitch since starting C25K 4 weeks ago...and I appreciate all of the feedback! You guys ROCK!

That is AWESOME. I'm really proud of you. I hope to be able to walk/run a 5K sometime later this spring or summer....and eventually I would LOVE to be able to run the whole thing. Baby steps, though! I am on week 4 of couch 2 5K so I am extremely excited for you!
-
Congrats! You wear 188lbs VERY well!! Wow! Would never have guessed that weight for you!
-
This is very true! Thanks for posting!

I weigh everyday. I try not to let fluctuations get to me. Getting on the scale each morning helps me stay consistent!

Hey there! I'm 5 '2 3/4" (I round up to 5'3" hehe) SW: 144 CW: 127 GW: 120-125 range Currently I'm doing the Couch 2 5K program, in week 4! Trying to become a runner, haha. Other things I do include the treadmill and eliptical, and sometimes a strength training class here and there! I occasionally pop in Jillian Michael's…

I believe polars have been proven to be quite accurate. If you just want something basic, I like my FT4. It shows me my HR zone and where I should be; it shows me calories burned; and it shows me a max HR, average HR, and time spent in the happy zone! It also stores data from my workouts, and is easy to use. Love it!

I don't, but I should ;) Especially if I'm the one doing all the work!

The original event was held last year in Maryland, about 30 minutes from where I live! It's only this year that it's gone nationwide. It looks SO COOL. I would love to sign up, but I'm afraid the obstacles would do me in so I'm hesitating. The MD run is not until late October, but it's $77 to sign up and I would HATE to…

Ginger Burnt Oak Wow, mine is lame... :)

Like someone above said, you have to ignore those negative inner voices. They will derail you...or a least try. Most times we are our own worst critic. Please don't give up, you've apparently come pretty far already...and who knows what another 2 weeks of hard work will bring! You are amazing, keep up the good work!

That is amazing, congrats! I am currently on Week 3, Day 3 (set to do it tomorrow, that is) and I'm so nervous about upcoming Week 5. Eek! I hope to someday be able to run a 5K the entire way. It's on my goal-list. For now, I do walking/running intervals and that's good enough for me. As long as I'm getting my fitness on,…

If I have access to it, I check everything before it goes into my mouth! Part of this lifestyle change is learning what the nutritional value of food really is, and learning what a portion size is! Once you've mastered that, the rest is just common sense and math! PS: If I want greasy pizza, I just log another 30 minutes…

Ugh! I have this problem as well! I have found that if I stand closer to the edge of the scale, I get a lower weight...haha. Today, my scale said anywhere from 124.6 (which I KNOW is not true) up to 125.8. What the heck!? Grr... Anyways, I use a digital scale...I don't care what other scales say, I just go by the one…
