I don't care what number they assign to a specific size. Do I wear a "4" or a "100" (Korean sizes run 77, 88, etc)? I don't care. I just want them to be CONSISTENT!!

Me. My carb intake has decreased significantly, but I'm not doing low carb by any stretch of imagination. I'm simply eating less carbs because 1) I'm eating less of everything except protein, 2) I eat at least 100g protein per day, and 3) I have to accomplish the first two while staying at a caloric deficit.

That's how I think of mine too! I'm pretty sure that when I have the toned body of an Amazonian warrior (without the missing boob), they WILL look more like battle scars than anything else.

Beng an unattractive teenager can prevent you from having sex that you'd regret later. Personally, I was smart and prudent for my age, and I PROBABLY would not have had such regrettable sex even if I had been the hottest girl in town. But I was still a teenager... and "probably" does not cut it when you're at that age.…

Lack of sleep will do that to me without failure.

While I agree that severe undereating is unhealthy and is not the right way to lose weight... I WISH I could lose weight by sticking to 1600-1800 net! Sadly (oh so sadly) my maintenance calories are less than 1550, thanks to my short stature. This is the first time in my life I wished I was taller. Everyone is…

Meats. Beef steak has lots of calories but no carbs. Any kind of oil...

You know, after I started counting calories... I don't. Back in summer, I was craving a vanilla shake on the boardwalk, so I got myself a small cup. I enjoyed the first sip immensely. But when I was about halfway done, I realized my taste buds weren't tasting the shake at ALL anymore. All I could feel in my mouth was…

I never want to give up. Never! But there are some moments where I think, "just this one ____ ...."

2lbs per week is not for everyone. Generally the closer you are to your goal weight, the harder it is to lose. What happens when you're constantly undereating is that your metabolism slows down. How much it slows down varies from person to person, and depends on how much you're undereating, how healthy your food choices…

Occasionally I come across pictures that have been either squished horizontally or stretched vertically to make the person seem taller/ thinner. I don't see it often here (only saw it ONCE on MFP, and I think the poster just wanted to make sure it fit within the forum width); it's a bit more common on other sites, however.…

The calorie guide link does not let you specify your activity level. It would give the same number for a person with a desk job and a person with a hard labor job, as long as their age, height, sex and weight are the same. I'd try MFP's recommendation, and make adjustments as needed.

I'll give this a try!

You're not gonna gain muscle that fast. Females can gain roughly half a pound of muscle per month IF they're training specifically to gain muscle. Muscles do retain extra water (in addition to glycogen) when you're working out, though. So yeah, mystery weight gains are usually water weight, and/or the weight of the food in…

Thanks! It was definitely a funny moment, brought a smile to my face :)

That is pretty darn big if you ask me! Great job! :flowerforyou:

Exercise may very well be the key to fixing your low energy! But as others have said, yes, you can lose weight without exercise.

If the nutritional info is for RAW (usually the case), I weigh it before cooking.

I love freshly baked bread too, BIG TIME. I don't deny myself anything; if the food I want has a lot of calories, I try to exercise more to earn the calories, and control my portion. I also make sure to eat nutrition-dense food on the same day so I get enough protein and whatnot. I've eaten cheesecakes, french fries,…

I record every day on my calendar... all the little fluctuations, gains and losses. But my "official" weigh in day on MFP is Monday, so I put down whatever I see on that day. I do have the personal policy of not logging any gains on MFP, but I don't remember if I've ever had to resort to that policy.

I've got none... No hips, no butt. Anyone wanna trade half of their hip size with half of mine?

My subconscious does not associate tofu with "highly processed" because when I was little, I grew up seeing people making their own tofu and selling them at the local markets. That's about as processed as homemade cheese made straight out of milk. How processed do you consider cheese to be? Consciously, though, I realize…

I don't keep track of calories for weight lifting since, as you said, I don't have a way of measuring that accurately. Just for cardio.

Thank you for all the advices! I'm taking notes and am feeling motivated

Bump.

That had been my plan until now. Now I'm just too hungry

I doubt it.

Some species of salmon are oilier than others. King salmon is super oily.

Eat more protein and fiber, and exercise so you can eat more! Burn 400 calories = you can eat 400 more calories. (The only problem is that MFP's calorie burn estimates are often way off, which is why a lot of people use heart rate monitors to estimate calorie burn)
