Used to be peanut butter for me. Now I love it. I have noooo idea what happened. I hate eggnog. I hope I won't develop a taste for it out of nowhere, the way I did with peanut butter!

Bump up your activity level by one! That's what I did. HRMs aren't good for estimating calorie burn of strength training, BTW. Unfortunate but true :( unless you have a super expensive model that has a strength training mode (I know of at least one model like that). Even then I wouldn't be sure.
-
HRMs are no good for estimating calorie burn for strength training or even HIIT, unfortunately! They're meant to estimate calorie burn for low to medium intensity cardio. Your heart rate and calorie burn have a different relationship during strength training compared to medium intensity cardio. And HIIT is meant to be…

I have minimum daily requirements for protein, fat and fiber. At least 105 (I shoot for 120 and up) grams of protein, and at least 39 grams of fat (I try to make most of that come from healthy sources, like EVOO). Once I have met the requirements, the rest can be anything -- more protein, more fat, or just a whole lot of…

Way too many times :( I totally know what you mean about things happening so quickly. My second malamute was the big meanie. She killed a couple of woodchucks, hurt a goose (but didn't seem to have hurt it seriously), and squashed many many mice. I know she's got more casualties under her belt than I know about because…

I understand eating more satisfying and filling foods. The other day I had a delicious chicken burger with sweet potato fries. But what's wrong with eating a burger AND counting calories? And like someone else has brought up... if you do this, does it mean you must abstain from having an engaging conversation over dinner?…

They're what YOU make them out to be. If you only do, say, the 30 day shred once and never work out again after that, then you've made a fad program out of the 30DS. But if you use that as a starting point of a healthy, active lifestyle, that is all kinds of awesome. Here's the thing. A fad diet is unhealthy -- not just…

1.5 pound per week is actually very fast for someone who only has so little to lose! I think what keeps me going is knowing that I can get there. I do not know when that's going to happen, but I know it's only a matter of time (and hard work). If I were ever to become unsure... sticking to it would become SO much harder.…

After 5 minutes, are you stopping because you are gasping for breath and your legs have turned into jello? Or do you stop before it gets anywhere near that point? If it's the latter, it's not because you are out of shape. You just need to be more determined, and to find a form of exercise that you don't hate so much.
-
I'm down to last 10 (or so) and they are already very stubborn. I know the last 5 is going to be even tougher! It comes down to proving that WE are tougher and more stubborn than our fat.
-
Won't do much good unless you're already pretty lean... Keep losing weight (the healthy way) and your waistline will eventually shrink.
-
More importantly, remember that your worth does not come from your weight or shape. As cliche as it sounds, who you are inside is much more important than what you look like. Plus, you have skills and talents, don't you? Those count too! I'm sure you don't look at OTHER people at your weight (or heavier) and think, "wow,…

If you're out of breath after 10 minutes of walking, YOU'RE DOING GOOD. Being out of breath means you're pushing your limits. That's a great thing. You should not beat yourself up for doing something good! Take a break, and do it again later the day, or even the next day. Keep doing it, and the 10 minutes will turn into…

Just one week, just one pound. Relax; one pound gain probably is NOT from fat. I'd place my bet on water weight fluctuation, or even your bowel contents if you haven't been regular. Are you eating 1300 total, or netting 1300?

I want light up shoes too! My feet are small enough that I might be able to find kids' shoes that fit, but I'd have to look hard.

Your face stores fat the exact same way mine does. Except... my face fat makes me look older, not younger. Wanna trade? I dislike my face fat, but I've come to realize chubby cheeks are better than a chubby chin. I've seen some people who seem to be around the same body fat % as me, yet still have a double chin.

Oh wow. Day 5 level 1, did it in front of a mirror wearing pants and a sports bra... My belly jiggled SO MUCH during jumpy moves, haha! I will vanquish the jiggle... some day, not TOO far in the future...

I think what they mean is, ask this very question to your doctors. Most people here don't know much about your condition, so they won't be much help in figuring out how many calories someone with your condition should consume.

Calorie deficit makes me poop less often, maybe once in 1-2 day(s), and it takes longer to do it too. Calorie surplus makes me poop often, like 2 or even 3 times a day, and it comes out right away. At maintenance, I go about once a day, quick and smooth. I think my intestines and my taste buds are in cahoot.
-
That totally happened to me before I started losing weight. What I saw in the pictures did not match what I saw in the mirror. I used to blame bad angles and weird lighting for how I looked in photos... Now I know better than to rely on my mirror for confirmation. Even now that I'm thinner, my mirror still refuses to be…

Definitely look into other ways of celebrating and consoling. Shopping, reading, getting a massage, dancing... or even a vacation if that's within your schedule/ budget... something you can enjoy and lose yourself in. I don't have this issue, but I know a few who do. Most recently I came to know a 6 year old with this…

Unfortunately, peanut butter HAS protein but is NOT loaded with it. It's much better than regular butter, but could not even dream of holding a candle to true high-protein foods such as Greek yogurt, real protein shake, etc. 200 calories of peanut butter = only 9.5g protein 200 calories of plain Greek yogurt = 35g protein…

Freshly baked soboro bread. It's a semi-sweet loaf of bread with a crumbly crust topping and a moist peanut butter-y section inside. Found in Korean bakeries. They're about the size of a flattened muffin, and 300-350 calories apiece. Problem? If I find freshly baked ones, I can inhale 10 of them in one breath.…

You deserve a reward for the dedication required to meet your milestone. :flowerforyou:

People who haven't been in this situation don't know what it's like. They may not mean harm, but they have no idea how disheartening they can be. Then there's a few who truly are malicious... But when you succeed, you'll show them. Thankfully, I'm surrounded by super supportive people. My whole family is very proud of me.…

Greek yogurt + granola + berries OR nuts! On lifting days, I go for something more carb-heavy, like two whole wheat toasts with 1Tbsp peanut butter and 1tsp honey. Afterwards, I hit the gym ASAP and put my rising blood sugar into good use.
-
If I'm trying to over-guesstimate my eaten calories, I just add more ingredient. For example, does the food look extra greasy? Then I add extra butter instead of just calories.
-
That's the thing though. You identified him because you could tell his form was excellent. You have to know the correct form in order to do that. It's a catch-22, so it goes back to educating oneself in a sea of conflicting information using best judgment.
-
I know you didn't say trainers, but the challenge lies in identifying qualified people. It's too bad that there's no visible halo floating above truly qualified individuals. That'd make it much easier. How do you know when someone is a competitive powerlifter? Do you have to socialize first? If that's the case, I'm in…

Please give me some of your caloric room.
