  • I know those first few days were eye-openers for me. I never knew I was taking in so many calories and how many of those calories came from unhealthy snacks. Where in Cali are you? I'm in SoCal.
  • As long as you start moving and you are ready for the journey then let's get it done! I know what it's like to want to start and feel overwhelmed by losing weight, especially when it's more than a couple of pounds, but you can do it. I have been at this for about two months and I'm already down nearly 10 pounds! You can do…

  • I have found that hiking helps with my stamina, especially if I run the trails. It also burns more calories than just running on a treadmill or on the track. I think you're on the right path!
  • We're all in this together so why not help each other along the way? I have been able to lose 8 pounds and I have this site and support to thank for it! Every little, "way to go" and "atta girl" helps so much. So if there is every anything you need. Just ask! ;0)
  • Maybe you will be lucky and find a farmer's market. I don't know if they have them there, but there are so many fresh fruits and veggies there and they are usually locally grown.
  • I only log in cleaning when I help my mom with her cleaning business which includes cleaning a school: a lot of lugging large trash cans, a lot of mopping and a lot of cleaning large mirrored walls. Other than that, I don't log in daily cleaning unless it's really deep cleaning. Today was a good one.
  • Every weekend, my family and I head out to the coutry and go hiking. I don't know if that's an option for you, but you not only get a workout, but you get to get out of the city and spend some time in a natural surrounding.
  • Bunch of SoCalies here. =0) I'm in Victorville. Yup, I'm a dirt squirrel. =0D
  • SoCal here! Where are you?
  • I was struggling for months to get out of the 180s and today I was so pleased to see my scale read 176.4! I have been in the 170s for only about two weeks so I am really happy about this. While I enjoy the 170s, I can't wait until I can say goodbye! I do weigh myself daily just to keep myself on track. Since doing this I…
  • Makes you push, huh? ;0)

  • Very cool. I will have to check this out.
  • I'm training for a 5K obstacle course and I run hills. I'm lucky I live in an area where that is possible. I have P90X and haven't really used it yet. I hope to bust it open in the next few weeks.
  • Tofu chili is good. Crumble firm tofu into a pot with a little bit of oil and some chopped onion. Add a couple of cans of beans, pinto and kidney, add a couple of cans of crushed stewed tomatoes, a can of tomato sauce, a chili seasoning packet and done. If you'd like you can also throw in some diced green peppers. Top with…
  • You get out what you put in. I was on MFP a while ago and lost 14, but then gained it all back. This time around I am really serious about following a healthy meal plan and getting moving. So far, 8 pounds gone! You really get a lot of support here and it's a wonderful site. Good luck and we are here for you.
  • Tofu chili is pretty quick and easy. Take the firm tofu and after draining it crumble it into a pot with a little bit of oil and chopped onion. Add a couple of can of beans, pinto and kidney, a couple of cans of tomato sauce and then a packet of chili seasoning. As much or little as you want. Just watch the sodium in this.…
  • I don't know where you live, but there are several races called the Warrior Dash throughout the country. I hear it's pretty intense. I just signed up for the one here in SoCal. There is a wall climb, a mud crawl and a jump over fire! It's a 3-mile course and should be pretty awesome. That's my challenge for this year.…
  • Anything Rage Against the Machine! That gets my blood going. A lot of Sublime stuff gets me moving like Scarlet Begonias.
  • Challenge accepted!
  • I'm not in the LA area but I live in the High Desert. About once a week, I meet up with my friends for hiking in Big Bear (weather permitting) or at Mormom Rocks near Wrightwood. We have all said we would try rock climbing in Upland at least twice a month.
  • It's called sour grapes. You are a strong woman and you will see this through! You have the support of this online community and I trust countless others.
  • There are those people who don't feel complete until they make you feel miserable. I have known several people like that and this guy sounds just like that sort of person. My ex used to call me fat when I weighed only 128 pounds and I believed him. I reealized what he was doing. He was just insecure about me not being in…
  • I try to load up on fruit and lots of water. I have the exact same problem. Sometimes I give in but I found that if I have some healthy snacks ready to go like bananas, sliced fruits and veggies and lots of water, I can stave off those cravings.
  • My time is limited since I go during my lunch hour and I have a specific goal in mind. I go on the treadmill for at least 20 minutes on varying inclines at about 5-6 mph. Then I do high reps with light weights, usually in a circuit for another 20 to 25 minutes. On the weekends, I try to stay out of the gym by running hills…
  • Hope it isn't too late. Name: Beatriz Starting Weight: 185 Goal Weight: 160 Workouts: Combination of jogging on the tredmill, on mountain trails, circuit training and dancing (Swing and Salsa) I signed up for Warrior Dash here in SoCal and want to be in good neogh shape to finish in about an hour. I've been training for…
  • I thought this was a post about System of a Down. Carry on.
  • I was able to lose but it took a lot of staying in, converting traditional Mexican recipes into healthy ones and actually getting outside even though it was chilly! We have so many things going on even after New Year's that I have to stay vigilant! Good luck to everyone else and let's keep it going!
  • I would love to join in! I love the pin up genre and need an extra kick!
  • How did I forget this one. It's number 1 and number 15 on my playlist. ;0)
