Wishing everyone on this team a great day!! Good luck with your goals for today!!

Thank you!! I used to swim competitively but it’s been years. My Daughter recent joined a team and it has inspired me to get back in the pool. I don’t want to join a team but it’s such a great workout and non impact. Don’t worry about being efficient, if anything I would suggest focusing on your stroke technique. The…

It’s a cardio machine that’s kind of a mix between a stair machine and an elliptical. It gives me a great workout and I really like having it.

Friday Check In Calories - Under for the day Exercise - 90 Minutes Strength, Indoor Stepper, and Bowflex Max Water - I don’t track water, I drink to stay hydrated. Saturday Plan We are checking out a new family fitness center. I am looking to start swimming again, if we like it we will get a membership. They have lots of…

I can see where you are coming from, and I agree with you. I go to the gym to work out, not be Social and 99% of the time I have my earbuds in with music blaring so its unlikely I would hear anyone trying to talk to me anyways. I also agree that we should all be decent humans and be polite, smile, and politely acknowledge…

I feel like PF gets a bad name unfairly sometimes. I am not a member and never have been, but I know many people who are. Being a “cardio bunny” is not a bad thing, some people much prefer cardio and it’s what they like so it’s what they do. Being intimidated about going to a gym as a very really anxiety some people have.…

I have been doing 14:10 and I like it. I may adjust to 16:8 at some point, but so far I found that it is a little much for me, and I overeating when it was finally time to eat again. 14:10 also works well with my work schedule. I get to work at 10 and I eat my breakfast. I have a long commute so I usually get home between…

I’m in, I’ve done it once before and was all in. However this round I am not going to cut out legumes and peanuts. I don’t have any sensitivity to them, and they offer some great nutritional value. However I am doing no grains, dairy, or added sugar for January. I don’t think whole 30 magical in the sense that it will make…

Hi there, first you should know that to lose weight you don’t have to exercise at all. You have to eat fewer calories then you burn. Your body burns calories all day to function. If you have not already enter your info into MFP and follow the calories it tells you to eat. Use a good scale to weigh your food so you can log…

I think resolutioners get a bad name. The fact is that they have great intentions and in their own minds are committed. However, we all know how hard this really is. I can’t count the number of times I started and ended up quitting. I also don’t know what ended up being the difference when I finally did stick with it and…

I agree with not going to a public gym if you have a contagious illness with symptoms. I think that’s common courtesy. I tell my employees all the time to stay home if you are sick, rest and focus on getting better. However, I always work out when I have a cold or flu. For me it always helps me feel much better. I listen…

In that case you know you are not gaining. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy. I would encourage you to analyze what is making your feel like this. For me, I know I always “feel” like I’m gaining when I am not as active as usual. Exercise reduces stress and boosts my mood, and when I miss a workout I feel sluggish. This…

I can’t remember where I read this, it was a few years back, so I can’t be sure if the source, but I do remember reading that Ibuprofen can cause some water retention as well. That may be a factor for you as well.

It’s not for me, I’ve tried it multiple times, in varied recipes and I just don’t like the flavor. I wish I could, i love rice and eat it regularly. It would be a great way to save some calories if I could like it. Alas I just don’t. I’m not low carb so I just eat the regular stuff and count the calories.

You might be my spirit animal 😂

As a few others have said if you are selecting walk or run on the watch you have to be at a certain pace for it to count. All the other workouts available I have had count the minutes without issue. I sometimes take an active rest day I wich I just got for a long walk at a more leisurely pace. That is the only time I don’t…

I’ve logged in years past and it’s always about the same for me on holidays a total of 4000-5000 calories for the day. I track monthly at this point so even with tbat I’m still at a deficit for the month. I do a quick add of 5000 now and don’t worry about it. Instead for me I make it a goal to go right back to normal the…

My suggestion would be to set it to Active, yes he might eat a little more on less active days but he will have a bigger deficit on his highly active days. Weight loss is about consuming less calories then you burn over time. One day to the next is not a huge factor it’s about consistency over time. Pick a setting stick to…

I think it’s unreasonable to ask anyone else to eat the way you do. I am 100% responsible for what goes into my mouth. If you live in a home with others you have to respect that they will not be on the same path you are. I would also never throw away someone else’s food unless it had spoiled. I would be livid if my…

I tried it to see if it offered anything more then MFP. I think it would be great for someone just starting who does not yet know a lot about nutrition. I like that it has a no good as bad approach it’s all about eating the right amounts. They also take you step by step into changing your behaviors. However even with the…

Well maybe it’s because I don’t have negative calorie adjustment turned on. When it syncs it only gives me credit for the active calories burned during my workouts. I just checked today. My calorie adjustment exactly matches my workout active calorie amount. I’m just saying mine matches and syncs fine everyday. I have my…
-
I direct sync and have never had a problem with it adding the right amount. It always just syncs my active calories from workouts, nothing else. It calculates the same as if I manually added my workouts and I have lost and gained at the rate I would expect to. To OP if you are planning to eat back exercise calories use the…

Yes, from what I have read its very common for women to feel more hungry especially during the day or two prior to your period. Think about crazy PMS cravings for chocolate or whatever lol. I have seen some women say they switch to maintenance for a few days to help combat that. It may slow progress slightly, but it helps…

Peanut Butter! Yummm!

I have no idea if there is any science behind this but I have always heard that what you eat this week shows up on the scale next week.

I use the indoor walk setting on my Apple Watch and it calculates as about 60 calories every 20ish minutes. I’m 5’5” and I currently weigh about 175. 357 does seem high, but it also depends on your current weight and height

Hello, I know it can be very frustrating not losing a the pace you want or expect. Here are a couple of the things that came to mind for me. Weight loss is all about calories in vs calories out. Are you using the MFP NEAT method, in which you add exercise calories back, or do you use TDEE and calculate you deficit based on…

If you have the calories left and you really want them, I’d eat them. If doesn’t matter that it’s late.

We might be Soul Mates lol 😄

All the foods!! just within my calorie goals. I have tried all the various restriction diets such as low carb, vegetarian, whole 30 etc. I wanted to try different methods identify what would in fact be sustainable for me. What I found is that no restrictions on what I eat, and just focusing on how much of it I eat has been…
