I get by with 4 db bars and a bit over 100 lbs in plates. You can do alot with just db's and a bench. You may want to look into P90X or the Chalean Extreme dvds.

Ibuprofen before bed, Ibuprofen upon waking. you're asking your body to do something really hard. it will adjust in time. keep pushing play!!

I think most of the points have been covered.... #1. A Beachbody coach is a salesperson trying to 'build a business'. #2. The workouts are not bad at all. #3. It's the nutrition that brings the results not the specific workout. Just realize that you'll hear the line 'My results when I started ???? supplement. It's…

It's all about the deficit, eat less and do more. Now planks are my favorite ab exercise along w/ weighted crunches.

I have no experience with 10 min trainer, but I do Fast&Furious as my warmup on cardio days. If you can do F&F AND make it through the buspee pushup jacks without a break I'd bet that you're already beyond 10 min trainer. I'd give the full insanity workout a spin.

Just stay the course and shoot for it. Keep looking in the mirror and make an intelligent decision about resetting your goal as you get closer. Progress pics will help you view yourself objectively. Nothing wrong with 130 as a goal, just be smart about actually going to 130 :)

Frankly I like the 18% tip thing for large parties. My average tip is more than 18%, so if they add it to the check then I pay what they asked and NOT what my usual amount :) Waiters/waitresses have a lousy job as it is. Now the guys in the BUSINESS OF GOD. That's where the real free money is !!!

I'm with feather if this. IMO It's just another fabled shortcut that people try in place of discipline and work.

I think of all the overweight people who act like I'm crazy working out 5 days/week and logging my food. By the time I get though my warmup, I'm ready to hit it hard :) That's why they call it WORKING-out. It's not easy.
-
I held out and married waay up :) Guess I'm a dill-hole.

Depends. Open diary and post your workout EVERYDAY a workout is due. If you tell me you're doing 5 days/week don't skip two of them. I depend on getting hassled by my friends on travel weeks (when I want to skip one). If you follow YOUR plan, then you're good with me. If you cry and talk about how hard it is, then you're…

It's gonna be fun to watch subway claim that 'footlong' is a brand name _not_ a unit of measure. Look everyone who goes to subway gets ripped off, I'm glad someone is finally taking them to task. BTW I also enjoyed the 'taco filling' thing with taco bell last year :)

He won't publish or iterate through his recipe at all. This isn't about an apology. It's about protecting/repairing the revenue stream for LiveStrong. I know I've stopped supporting them. It's not an apology, he's just trying to restore the cash flow for his charity.... It's about $$$$.

Squats or not. I think the take way here here is that: No man or women just work up one day and said "Aw crap I got too big". It takes years of hard work and a nutrition plan (surplus). Just squat !! Throw in a dead lift or 2 :) Remember if you train for PERFORMANCE, the appearance will take care of itself.

If you snack every night just build it into you daily calorie budget. Have a glass of water with the snack and you should be set. PS. It's okay to snack after 6 PM as long as it's not 3-4 scoops of ice cream with toppings :)

If a new year resolutionists is working out next to me I yell at them to "Get out of my garage".

IIFYM Last night (Mom's bday dinner) @ Longhorn I had ... 2 pc bread & butter 8 oz Rancher Sirloin (comes w/ 2 pieces bacon and 1 egg!!) 1/2 order of fries green beans. skipped the dinner salad for the green beans.

Meal timing is pretty mush a discredited approach. 5-6 meals/day does help keep you from feeling hungry when running a deficit IMO. Eat when you're hungry as your schedule allows.
-
This one^^^ Eat the one that fits with your planned daily intake. You do have a plan right? For me it's instant oatmeal (original flavor).

Former Cav Scout here. If this is really used by military types it's being used by the 'big' guys who are close to being overweight by military standards. Enjoy cycling your crash diet, it may work for a while.

BMI is only useful for population studies. It's not a measure of heath.

Good points on running shoes not being the best equipment. Mod the move. Use both feet as suggested or do another jump that you can handle. Remember plyo training in general isn't about hitting x number of reps. It's about getting good explosive reps. It's okay to slow down. P90X is still challenging after day 90 :)

Mine is open and I had a cheeseburger last night when I took my bro out to dinner. No reason to cheat when it's open. Frankly it sounds like you haven't found the right friends on MFP.

The the whole obesity 'thing' has skewed our perception of what exactly FAT looks like. I suspect there's a happy medium between where you are right now and the asian norm. I take crap every week for bring skinny and my BF is about 15%.

It's his issue not yours. Stop trying to fix it. Just support him on his journey in his time.

I compete. My team has one many BBQ contest (amateur division). Went Pro last year and then didn't have enough time to seriously compete. Hitting it again this year starting in late Feb. Yes I do a killer brisket for Christmas eve.
