I HAVE experienced that my chronic lower back pain caused by stress has mostly gone and I have lost weight by eating almost exclusively Kapha pacifying food. I totally agree that you have to show yourself compassion, something a Buddhist monk told me last summer when I was telling him about all the things I felt I should…

Thanks both of you!

I am confused about this water thing. I have sipped hot water for years but in my Ayurvedic Nutrition course book the writer recommends that Kapha, who is already prone to water retention, does NOT drink water. I'm cross-referencing it as I know I feel good when I drink warm water, but I also have horrible water retention.…

I'll be returning to my regular yoga class any week now. I do Vinyasa - it's good for Kapha's like me

Yes please! Love the young 'uns on MFP but I'd love to 'talk' to other women my age... Sorely regret having let myself go, and as someone wrote everyone told me it'd be tough after the big 40.

I suffer from this as well especially before TOM. It can get pretty bad and very uncomfortable. I have noticed that a dry sauna helps, you sweat a lot out! Also VERY important, reduce your salt intake. Perversely, in the week before my TOM I crave salt, and if I give in, I retain even more. If I have a take-out meal…

I think you're very courageous to deal with this head-on and for sharing it with everyone. I wish you all the best

Have to agree with this. Best thing I've found is the Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion for everyday use (ie after your morning shower) and before bed (and even better evening shower) rub Glycerine into your heels and put on a pair of socks. It works a treat!
