Morning of day 2. I am remembering one of the aspect I least liked from my first W30, I think about food ALL the time. What I am going to eat for the next meal, how to make it balanced, looking up recipes, pre-cooking stuff, prepping nut milks and ghee, what I cant have, etc and so on. It is really tiring! I hoped that…

Hello!!! Started my 2nd Whole30 today. My first one was back in June of last year. I am excited to be doing it again and am looking forward to to the changes of this upcoming month. Feel free to send me a friend request if you like. And feel free to ask any questions or reach out if you need any support!

Why are you cutting fat? Should be cutting grains and adding fat!!!!

The ingredients in the noodles listed are not compliant. you can however have zucchini noodles or rather, spiralized vegetables. Here is a great description from whole9life forums as to where the line gets crossed when it comes to "paleofying" foods. "If you love macaroni and cheese and you get a spiralizer and make…

It depends. I have some tea recipes that I entered, my morning bulletproof tea gets logged because it contains ingredients that have calories and fat. The herbals I drink iced throughout the day get logged under water.

I find that my weight loss slows when I have a too many high carb days, such as the grains, legumes etc. The problem is your body can't burn off enough of both fat and sugar (carbs) so if you are doing high fat you want to have lower carbs. It's been an interesting process seeing how my body is adapting to a high fat diet.…

I would throw it in a pan with some stock, pref bone broth, and use it normally after abut 30 min to reconstitute. It will adsorb the broth and become palatable again :)

I was just having a conversation with the hubs about how to incorporate more traditionally prepared foods in our diet and not spending all my time in the kitchen. I mean, in addition to my ferments, booch, and WK, I would love to start making sourdough on a weekly basis as well as keeping soaked and sprouted things going.…

Just made Stupid Easy Paleo's Pan-fried Lemon Chicken, OMG sooo good and so easy! Great weeknight protein when you just can't wanna be creative with a chicken breast. http://stupideasypaleo.com/2013/07/10/easy-pan-fried-lemon-chicken/ Served it with spaghetti squash cacio e pepe and sauteed kale. Happiness on a plate :)

I don't drink coffee but I love my tea. In the AM I will have BPT with assam or irish breakfast but in the afternoon I will have it with a tisane such as tulsi tea or even chamomile for a before bed drink. Tea takes bulletproofing really well!

One of my faves because it's easy and the components can be made a head of time then pulled together and finished in the AM. Combine ground pork with either brussels or butternut, apple slices, paprika, cinnamon, and brown everything in butter. If I am feeling really hungry I'll throw a fried egg on top. Keeps me full for…

I went ahead and created a group for the Jan W30. Feel free to join up. I'll try to get some good info posted over there in the next few days. We can all do this together and make it our most successful Whole30 yet! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/18029-whole30-january-2014

Holy basil is also known as Tulsi. I don't know about it flattening your stomach but there are so many other things it is great for! Why is Tulsi Tea So Good For You? (wildflowerapothecary.com) Tulsi is a powerful adaptogen. In other words it helps the body to resist stress. Those suffering with stress related conditions…

We need a group creator to jump in here and make a recipe topic sticky, puhleeeeze!!!! Anyway, I made a delicious stuffed pork tenderloin tonight and I thought I would share. First I made a mushroom duxelle, mushroom diced, celery diced, shallots or garlic diced. Saute in butter until liquids are released and the mushrooms…

I too have had similar effects. My body changed dramatically when i first went primal, well i started out Whole30 then went to paleo, and am now primal with a bit of WAPF thrown in (less and less as time goes). I was amazed at the changes in my body, like everything was changing places. But I wasn't losing weight. No…

A huge drop in weight like that was probably water weight. As your body adjusts to the new way of eating it will balance out and you will likely begin to lose weight at a more balanced and steady pace. 10 lbs in a week is an awful lot. I wouldn't worry and keep on truckin. Things will even out :)

Good call, thanks for the advice!

Thank you for that, I have no idea where my body would enter ketosis and I am not that serious about getting there. I do know that I feel better, less heavy and sluggish, when I stay around 50 gms. On heavy workout days though I do feel the need for more. I was interested in people's thoughts on how the whole thing works…

I do a lot of my shopping at local farms and farmer's markets but with winter here that is not always an option. I spend most of my money on meat and dairy then head to veg and fruit. A sampling of my weekly trip, arranged in the order of the aisles of the store (yes, I am nuts like that): Cabbage Kale Jicama Spaghetti…

I am by no means an expert and I in fact rely on my buddies here to help me along but what I have learned is the range to set my macros in for my body to run most efficiently. I currently have them set a bit higher in carbs than I aim for but it's not a bad place to start (correct me folks if I am wrong). Carbs-20%…

Thanks for sharing. I don't typically get sick but have a friend who spends most of the winter battling colds and flu. She won't listen to me that her diet has a lot to do with it but that is neither here nor there. I am making her a healing basket for her birthday which is comprised of all sorts of homemade immune…

Thanks guys, I am slowly trying to figure this thing out. I read this yesterday: From: The Ketogenic Diet by Lyle McDonald The major goal with pre-workout carbs is not necessarily to improve performance, although that is a nice benefit. Primarily, the goal is to provide enough carbohydrate to promote post-workout glycogen…

Water Kefir and Kombucha are great subs and are full of probiotics. It can get pricey if you are buying them but makng them at home is really easy. You can find WK grains and Kombucha SCOBYs on Amazon. Seltzer water is really a great sub too!

Depending on what type of food profile you follow,www. gnowfglins.com and www.holisticsquid.com offer free sample meal plans, you have to sign up and pay for more though. www.onceamonthmeals.com offers meal plans of all sorts for free with links to recipes, I personally love this site. You do have to sign up and pay for…

I have mild icthyosis and since going primal/paleo 6 months ago I have seen relief that I have not seen ever in my life. I do not suffer from celiac's but do feel that gluten and other grains cause inflammation in the gut which leads to inflammation manifestation in other parts of the body. You may not have to cut out all…

I love step. If you have a Wii there is a game "My Fitness Coach" that utilizes the step. I use my step for hiit workouts, without a dvd as well as for crossfit style box jumps etc. Gonna have to see if I can find my old Reebok workouts, you've inspired me!!

I was so ready to be pissed off before watching it, then died laughing when I did. "Was the butter GRASS-FED?!?!" HAHAHAHA!!!

I had no idea what this was so i checked it out and apparently signed up with this code. So thanks :)

Triple chocolate cake with cannolis. And beer, definitely beer.

I would like to first say, I love these questions. This has become such a part of my daily life that I just do instead of thinking about why. This is stretching my brain a bit and I've been able to go back to some things that I learned long ago and have simply become habit for me. I will answer everything to the best of my…
