Hi guys, I'm at summer school and so it will be hard for me to log and weigh in for the next two or so weeks. But I will still be active in the challenge. I will try my best to weigh in today though. Good luck! DWF

Hey everyone. I'm down to 161.2lbs this week! I'm so happy :-) Just noticed that I have to lose about 1lb a week to reach my goal of 152lbs by the end of this challenge! I really hope that life doesn't get in the way! And I've been to Zumba this week so I hope that has an effect on next week's weigh-in! (as I weigh-in on…

I understand where you are coming from, but some people can live sustainably like this. I feel like I can do this for life. 100g carbs is plenty for a day (for me) =) I also have nutritional reasons why I have decided to cut down carbohydrates, but it is definitely not for everyone. Perhaps you should then eat at…

I agree, though last week, I averaged 75g carbs a day and lost 6.1lbs. (going from 167.3lbs to 161.2lbs) I would suggest cutting down to 100g to start with and see from there.

Ditto! It's difficult being a student, and even more difficult during the holidays. I've been travelling to and fro from university, to home, to summer schools, to visit friends...it's all a bit hectic. :-)

I weigh myself once a week on Mondays. Though when I start strength training in September, I think I'm going to weigh either fortnightly or monthly and maybe focus more on body fat percentage and measurements. I'm going to be away from July 31st-August 16th at a 2 week summer school and straight after that to my friend's…

Lovelyfacex3, you can change your limits by going to MY HOME, then GOALS, then CUSTOM and CHANGE GOALS. Then you can pick your macros. Awesome! I did too :-)

I went tonight and burned 719 cals according to my HRM. I am 5ft 4.9in and weigh 161.2lbs. I think an HRM is the way to go :) I have a Polar FT4, well worth it!

Hi everyone, I'm 20 years old and have just finished my 2nd year of university here in the UK. My weight has slowly but surely crept up on me over the past three or four years. This is my sixth week on MFP (I've used the site under a different username in the past though but didn't stick with it) and my second week with…

Sugar is sugar is sugar. All sugar is sugar. An easy way I have cut down on my sugar intake is by limiting my carbs to a maximum of 100g a day. I have done this for the past week and the maximum sugar I have hit is 30g without trying. Most low-fat foods have tons of sugar in to make up for the taste. So beware of those.…

Hi! I'm not doing the Atkins diet, but on Monday I set my macros for fat, protein and carbs at 40/30/30 respectively. I am limiting myself to an absolute maximum of 100g of carbs a day, except for going out/special occasions etc. I realised that whenever I ate carbohydrates, I was constantly hungry and thought it odd that…

Thank you for this thread. Today marks my 6th week on MFP. It also marks my best loss to date (6.1lbs) after ONE week following a high fat, moderate protein, moderate carb diet. (40/30/30 respectively) I limited my carbs so I have no more than 100g a day, averaging about 75g a day this week and really cut back on sugar.…

Name: DoctorWhoFan Goal weight on July 30: 159lbs 07/01: 164 07/04: 164 07/11: 163.5 07/18: 167.3 (did not update last week, sorry!) 07/25: 161.2 07/30: I put on 3.8lbs in the previous week, but I lost 6.1lbs this week, so I'm really pleased! Well done to everyone!

I'm in! Start weight: 167.3 Goal weight: 157 I may not have internet access or access to a scale from July 31st to August 16th. Can I just weigh in as soon as possible after that? I already have a goal set for 5th September (as you can see in my signature) so this challenge is perfect for me :)

I scramble two whole eggs in about 5g of pure butter. Delish!

I log everything, even low calorie drinks. Remember that there is sugar in skimmed milk, so there are still calories.
-
Personally, I like to eat fewer calories during the day and eat more for dinner. Just my preference, I don't do it for any particular reason.

If you aren't low carbohydrate too, then quinoa is a grain that is relatively high in protein (for a grain) Check out the nutritional information for 1/2 a cup here: http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Quinoa-Nutrition-Facts.jpg

I had a really bad week and so am up to 167.3. But I am firmly back on track and ready to lose them, taking a new approach. We shall see how it goes! Well done to those who have weighed in already and good luck!

You can change the limit to suit you if you go to MY HOME, then GOALS. But yeah, fruit is always going to push up the sugar.

Bump.

I'm not sure where you are from, but here in the UK we have Nakd bars which are low calories natural bars made from fruits and nuts. The cocoa orange one is divine and about 130cal per bar and really healthy! Or Fibre plus bars are 111 calories and deliver a great chocolate fix. But sometimes, I just allocate some calories…

Hi there. I'm from the UK, feel free to add me everyone :)

I'm 20 :)

Hi there, I know that Yo sushi serves Mochi, you can compare their nutritional values. http://www.yosushi.com/static/downloads/4237YO!SushiNutritionalBooklet291110.pdf Just Ctrl+F and you should find their different types. It will most likely be closer in nutritional value to the plain Mochi.

My mother wondered why I just burst out laughing. To stay on topic, I can't believe she didn't let you buy your pizzas! Enjoy your honey!

Just echoing the other posters with the suggestion of eggs. I usually beat two or three for an omelette or on occasion have it scrambled with some lean unsmoked bacon. Hard boiled is great too, fills me up, but I'm not keen on the taste/texture :)

HAHA, apparently, I've just given birth: 7.5 pounds = an average newborn.

Oh no sorry, I forgot to send you a PM. I just posted it on the thread on Monday! Sorry, I am part of two challenges and I get them mixed up! Totally my fault! I'll PM you now! Sorry again!
