i have also faces this problem and i did weights to help build my upper body when the tendon in my foot snapped this helped me a lot because i improved at my volleyball games, and i got nice toned arms, but only do this if your doctor says you can and it will not harm anything else.

when i don't feel motivated i will make a playlist of super up beat tones and only listen to them when i run. this way if i hear the song on the radio, on t.v. or at a dance it makes me fill like i want to run. and i also think of the new clothes ill get when i get to my goal weight.:happy:
