Welcome! I felt pretty much alone in this too until I found help here.

Not really. I've had blueberries but I eat a variety of veggies so don't miss it much.

I'm finished having kids but my last one was 5 years ago. I developed postpartum preeclampsia and ended up in the hospital for a week after baby was born with very high blood pressure. I wish they had suggested a low carb diet at that point. I had to stay on BP meds for a year after that. If I had known diet may have…

New found energy! Also the size 10 jeans i bought because my 12s are getting loose. :)

155 goal, currently in size 12s but starting to fit into 10s again. When I was 155 before, I was still in a size 10. It takes a lot of weight loss for me to move down in sizes.

I didn't like Folgers much when I tried it previously with sweetened creamers, but I can drink almost any coffee with HWC added. That stuff is my favorite. Gosh I'm so glad not to be afraid of fat now!!! :) I'm on my last few months of having kids at home. My older two are in school and my youngest will start kindergarten…

One more thing. I don't have to leave the house for work because I'm a stay at home mom. Years of being in the same routine of being starving right when I wake up are playing into this. I'm not used to the lack of hunger I've had since I started this. So that's a good thing, I guess!

I am using up an extra can of Folgers coffee that I don't usually drink. I usually buy coffee beans to grind at home, but the Folgers was left at my house by my mother in law. I guess I never really thought that could be it! Today I'm trying just having coffee and then waiting for breakfast till I get hungry. I don't know…

I wondered about that. I've seen people say they fast at certain times. I am the type that gets HANGRY all of the sudden when I don't eat, so I don't like the idea of skipping meals. Maybe I should just wait a little longer between coffee and breakfast though. Thanks for your insight!

I sent you a friend request @KnitOrMiss. Don't feel you have to analyze my diary but it's open to my friends if you want to check it. I'm obviously still struggling with needing sweet things now and then, so you will see some sweet sugar bombs. :)

Oh no, I had no idea. I chew gum quite a bit because my breath is gross. I guess I will start counting it though.

Haha! Yep I might have a problem with peanut butter... Thanks everyone. I will check out almond butter and be more careful with weighing it. However, I really use a teaspoon and don't fill it overly full. And straight out the jar for a little tummy filler sometimes. I can live without chocolate, but not peanut butter!!!

I like my carbs to come in around 28-35 a day. I am a rebel and cannot just stick with an even 30. :)

Starbucks coffee tastes burned and sometimes bitter to me, but please do not tell anyone I said that because I live in Seattle. :) I prefer Gevalia.

Oh my goodness, someone else who has had costochondritis! I thought I was having a heart attack when I had it. I still have sore chest muscles when I open a jar of pickles. ' I like to do FitnessBlender on YouTube, but some of their weight lifting portions are hard on the upper body for me, even if I'm doing it with light…

Love this group too! Was a little intimidated at first by the amount of KNOWLEDGE but then I realized how great that is. Love it!

This has been my plan all along. I just hit my 21st day yesterday and I don't feel as anxious to up my carbs now. I don't restrict myself to 20 per day though, I aim for 30 and sometimes go over into the 40s. So this type of level has been working for me the last few weeks. I think it's always good not to go too severe at…

That's great!

@KnitOrMiss Thank you for your explanation. I'm still learning and this is really helpful. Yes, I do remember sleepiness after eating, especially lunch and dinner. I don't have it as much but do still occassionally. But it's hard to tell what's sleep deprivation and what's related to nutrition. I don't sleep well at night…

Curiosity here...what do you mean by you had an insulin reaction? I'm curious. For me I have been trying different artificial sweeteners and finding the more I have, the more I want to have. Is this what you mean? Cravings? Thanks!

Great! I found the first two weeks super encouraging too. I imagine it will slow down as I go, but that's okay. Looking for long term change not quick results. I too have borderline HBP, so I don't add salts; it's so hard to do after being told over and over to cut salt!

Don't worry, op, you are not the only one who is prediabetic and watching carbs, even in fruits. I follow my doctor's recommendation too and hope for much better bloodwork when I go back in August. And BTW, I am not obese but I am overweight by about 25 pounds. I don't want to have full blown diabetes like my grandmother…

Great news and such an encouragement. I have to wait 5 more months to see my doctor and get my blood work done again. Thanks for sharing!

This is the only one I have made so far, but if you want to try the cauliflower trust type here is one recipe. I have done it the way it's listed with the same toppings and also with more meat type toppings. Just have to be sure you bake the crust for long enough before the toppings or it gets soggy. Tastes great though.…

Sounds familiar. I ate some pickles and those symptoms were much less noticeable but it did still feel like the flu for a couple of days. Hang in there.

Sounds familiar, same thing I heard from my doctor two weeks ago and he was less concerned about the bad cholesterol than about the prediabetes, as those numbers will come down together with weight loss from low carb. We didn't however discuss the high fat side of it. Following for more info.

Thanks...I added all of you who offered. I appreciate it!

I'm not sure how correct my thinking is, but some days I eat more calories and some days less. If I'm not really hungry, I'm not worried about it being less. I do worry about too many days being more though. I have mine set at 1400 (pretty close to what the calculators told me) and often eat less. However, I do not work…

I will add you. I'm pretty new to this way of doing things, so I'm still really learning.

I would go with the first one. Carbs at 6 seems a bit extreme especially if you are starting out. I started at a limit of 50g and went down to 30g with no problem. I might go lower, but I'm wanting to see how my body reacts to different things. Friend me if you would like. I have similar stats as you except I'm 43 not 28.…
