  • First off, good for you for starting out on this journey!! it all depends on what you consider "low carb" to mean. For me, I avoid all processed grains and try to get most of my carbs from fruit and veggies. Meat (obviously), nuts, cheese, and low gi fruits and veggies are all a great place to start. As far as recipes go,…
  • I have a roadid shoe pouch. The id part has my name, phone number, and some emergency information engraved on it. And the pouch sits on top of my she laces. I can carry a credit card, some cash, and my house key. I honestly do not notice it on my foot unless I change shoes and have to get the placement right - sometimes it…
  • Personally, I tend to go with low gi fruit and some macadamia nuts, but I also love Elena's Pantry's Breakfast bars. You can try different fruits and nuts and find something that works for you and your family. The Blueberry Honey Coconut Cups from PaleOMG are also pretty great, freezer friendly, and easy to eat on the go.…
  • So start friending people!! If you see someone post in a forum and you think they're funny or you like their photo, send them a message and a friend request. Seeing their status updates and activities on your home page will help keep you (and them) motivated!! Just go for it
  • I'm doing a ketogenic diet, as well. I have my macros set to 10% carbs which usually averages out to less than 50g a day, depending on exercise. I don't count net carbs or pay attention to fiber. While the first week was difficult, due to sugar withdrawl, it has done wonders for my energy, skin, moods, sinuses, and I…
  • I have two recipes that have worked for me: Elena's Pantry Apricot Power bars (SUPER easy and very travel friendly) http://www.elanaspantry.com/gluten-free-apricot-power-bars/ Paleomg's blueberry honey coconut cups http://paleomg.com/blueberry-honey-coconut-cups/ And, I haven't tried them, but here are some grain…
  • Put them in the food processor and blast them for about 10 minutes....Voila: Coconut butter!! It may take a few tablespoons of coconut oil if they're more chalky or gravely. But, yum. Good on everything!!!
  • I'm in a similar situation. honestly, the most important thing I've found is a yoga mat. I wound up with an unexpected rug burn from doing crunches on the carpet. So, no matter which way you go, get a yoga mat!! The only other things I have at home are a few sets of hand weights and some workout dvd's.
  • They're kind of old school, but I loooooove Richard Simmons Sweatin to the Oldies series. I love the music, the dancing, and that he uses real people, not crazy then sports models. The people in the videos are obese people and they're shaking their booties all over the place. And, if they can do it, so can I!!! You can…
  • Me too!! Me too!!! I have about 85lbs left to lose to get to the goal of 103. Feel free to friend me, we all need support on this journey!!
  • VERY cool!! I'm totally happy for you!! And, I am in love with low carb eating. I switched to a paleo/primal mentality a month ago and have had amazing results - the weight falls off, no cravings, and energy for days!! Keep it up!!!
  • Well, they aren't pretty, but I *LOVE* my Enell bras. They're the ones the wear on the Biggest Loser and are an Oprah's Favorite Thing. I am a 42 DDD and my gals don't move a bit when they're holstered in the Enell. But, again, they're soooo NOT pretty.
  • Me toooooo!!! Feel free to add, I log in daily :)
  • I wear Mueller patella bands when I run. The only time I get knee pain is when I forget them! I think Amazon calls them "jumper's knee straps". Good luck!!
  • Hi there! I wear Mueller Patella Bands on both knees. I've worn them while running for the last 2 years and only get knee pain when I forget them. Maybe some sort of stabilizer or knee brace would help you? Or maybe alternate the squat/lunge days with other weight training or cardio? Best of luck!!
  • OOh, I would love some motivational friends!! Add me too, please!!! I'm 34 Married 10 years Diagnosed at 17 1 son born after 3 rounds of IVF (pcos, polyps, & mfi) Stay-at-home Mom in NYC I'm trying to lose about 103 pounds, so LOTS of motivation is needed!! • I agree with the BOB Revolution recommendations. You can usually find some on Craigslist for your budget or less. friend one mine had a Jeep one, though, that a built in speaker so she could play music without headphones. I thought was a pretty cool feature! Good luck!!
  • I eat carbs before a workout, usually some fruit. Then, I have protein (normally my protein heavy lunch) after the workout, to help the muscles recover.
