  • Thank you. I'm doomed. I don't really do any exercise. I recently started doing more walking but that may not last (never has in the past). Over the years I've tried going to the gym, but I hate it and never manage to continue for more than a few months.
  • I haven't read this article but the idea that I've lost muscle as well as fat is something that I find quite upsetting. I've been losing and gaining weight my whole life. No one ever told me that I might also be losing muscle. I've never been an athletic person so I'm sure I don't have any extra muscle to lose. I might…
  • Congratulations @Sunny_Bunny_ ! You've been a huge help to me in my own journey during the past six months. Your success is a true inspiration and gives me hope that I might also succeed. Thank you.
  • Simple solution. Don't eat. Skip breakfast and eat a large lunch and dinner. The fast will help kick start your keto.
  • Hilare!! Not sure how scientific this is but I love the concept and the graphic.
  • Thanks for the replies!
  • As I started out I just focused on keeping my carb grams below 20 and as I went along and learned I looked for opportunities to increase my fat content. I never pay much attention to protein - it is often over. But always keeping my cal count in deficit. My reason for Ketosis is strictly weight loss. I don't have any other…
  • I had was in a waiting room the other day and just sat right down between two ppl without worrying that I might not fit. Normally that would have a been a situation that causes me a lot of anxiety. I don't think skinny people would understand that panicky feeling fat ppl get when they walk into a waiting room and realize…

  • I would plan on eating a huge meal prior to heading to the festival and then just fast until afterwards. 10 hours isn't a long fast and when you get home you will be tired and ready for a nice end of day meal. Mostly just have fun.
  • Thank you. I may check that out.

  • Congrats!! Go for the clothes! You will get lots of compliments as ppl will now be better able to see your progress. It will add extra motivation to get to your next milestone.
  • When I started LCHF I religiously counted everything. Now, six months later, I have a good understanding of what I'm eating and don't really need to count. I often still do as it's not particularly difficult b/c I eat mostly the same things. However, I think I may need to get back to counting as when I do not I find there…
  • @Deena_Bean I hear you w/r/t coming home from work and needing to eat something. As part of my weight loss journey I stopped eating lunch, so when I get home I am usually feeling pretty hungry. I make a point of having something available that I can access almost immediately. My main go-to, after work "snack" are cooked,…
  • As usual, I agree with @wabmester ... I cannot view your food log so not sure what makes up those 100g of carbs. If some is coming from refined foods (i.e. sugar, grains, etc.) you might simply try replacing with with plant based/natural ones. That way you would still have the same caloric intake but by eliminating any…
  • I had literally no idea what I was doing. I hadn't even heard of Ketosis. I had just hit rock bottom and knew I needed to get control of my eating so I just stopped eating carbs one day. I have a friend who lost a lot of weight reducing carbs and I wanted to try. I can't remember all the detail but I do recall getting very…
  • Frozen ready to eat shrimp. I eat them several times per week as an appetizer to take the edge off my hunger before supper.
  • Most evenings I have one square of 85% dark chocolate with about 1/2 cup of blackberries. It takes awhile to get used to the dark chocolate but it is satisfying. Also, for me it's virtually impossible for me to over indulge in dark choc due to the bitterness. It doesn't trigger other cravings.
  • You probably won't ever be in Ketosis eating as you describe, but if you are getting the results you want then it doesn't really matter. I think most people eat varying levels of carbs on a day in day out basis.
  • I put 1 tbsp of Pb on my scrambled eggs. Increases fat. Adds flavour.
  • Thanks for all the encouragement! I feel very positive about the future.
  • Sometimes it's easier to just say you've decided to eliminate processed foods and focus on "real food" . That covers a lot of sins and generally gets a positive reaction from most.
  • Hey @tishball if I can do this you can too! I've fallen off the wagon so many times I can't even count that high.

  • Welcome. There is def a steep learning curve but you can do it. I jumped in to this WOE without evening knowing what it was at the start. I just heard that cutting carbs was a good way to lose weight. So, one day I just decided to simply stop eating all carbs. The weight immediately started to drop off and then I began…
  • Thanks for the advice @baconslave . I'm going to get some of those gel drops...he says squinting at his computer screen because his eyes are so dry. Luckily, I have not had anything like what you describe at night time. I seem fine when I'm sleeping. I mostly notice the dry eyes in the evening at the end of the day.
  • Thank you very much! I will start this evening with two capsules before bed.
  • @Sunny_Bunny_ I would be grateful for some specific advice. I have had some serious constipation issues since going LCHF. I got some magnesium supplements. They are "Swiss" brand and 250mg capsules. Citrate, oxide is what they say. Any thoughts on when and how much to take? Is this the "right" kind of magnesium? Thanks in…
  • @baconslave I have been off and on experiencing dry eyes. I don't know why but it has me a bit worried. Doesn't sound anywhere near your issue but it is annoying. I will be checking back on this thread. I don't want mess with my vision but also need to be careful I don't sabotage my weight loss. I have been experimenting…
  • I jumped right in with both feet and went 20g or less from the get go. I'm in this to lose weight and it has changed my life I'm rarely hungry unless I allow myself to become so for intermittent fasting. Even then I don't feel hungry. I never would have thought you could lose weight by eating three eggs scrambled with…
