  • I eat some version of the same thing everyday. A large breakfast has been a game changer for me. I now skip lunch which historically was a meal where I would overeat and or eat unhealthy foods. Today: 3 Large Eggs fried in bacon fat; 3 strips of bacon. 1/2L of water. - that's actually the lightest breakfast I eat. On other…
  • B = three eggs fried in bacon grease; three strips of bacon; 1/2 litre of water L = skip it D = 3 chicken thighs with skin cooked in gravy with green beans as a side S = 2 German Weiners; 1/2 cup blackberries; 1 square 85% dark Choc; 1 can club soda with Stevia sweetner
  • Way to go! You're talking the talk, and walking the walk!
  • LOL! I've been entertaining people for many years. I'm a pro.
  • My new go to place is 5 guys. Order double bacon cheeseburger no bun with mustard on the side. Bottle of water. Free peanuts in the shell as a side. Your screen name makes me think you might be from ontario so you prob have a swiss chalet near you. I get the double leg dinner with gravy on the side. I just eat the chicken…
  • @motown13 thats incredible! @bisky you must be very happy! This past weekend I went snowmobiling for the first time. It was a lot of fun and I wouldn't have done it before dropping 55lbs. I borrowed the snowsuit and it fit just fine but only because I'm now smaller.

  • Thanks. Lately I've been experimenting with a couple of carby foods. Well, actually only really one. A few times I have had a single, whole-wheat tortilla shell when my wife makes fajitas. I used to eat three or more. They don't really have a lot of carbs and I would still be well under 50g for the day (my general goal…
  • B = 3 large omega-3 eggs scrambled with 1tbsp HWC and fried in ~1tbsp bacon fat from 3 strips of bacon; 1tbsp peanut butter L = don't eat it anymore D = 15oz grilled Sirloin steak topped with approx 2 tsp of butter S = 1/2 cup blackberries; 1 can of club soda with a small amount of Stevia sweetner; 1 may also have one or…
  • @wabmester I would be interested to know what foods you allow in that 100G carb allowance. Alternatively, are there certain foods that you restrict, or won't allow within that daily budget?
  • Today: Breakfast: ham and eggs fried in butter with aged cheddar cheese Supper: Sirloin steak topped with butter Snacks didn't have much fat: berries, one square 85% dark chocolate; shrimp with cocktail sauce; small amount of peanuts As is often the case, I'm over on protein, short on fat, and close on carbs I often make…
  • [Late Edit] in my reply I said it "could hurt" to decrease from 50-100 down to 20. I meant to say it "couldn't" hurt. Meaning, it would seem reasonable to me to start out at 50-100 and see how that goes for a while. You can always go down further after a while. I just went VLC right from the start because I was feeling…
  • Wow! I'm glad I've never posted anything in the main forums. I'll just hide here, thank you very much.
  • I think the "sweet spot" for weight loss is a combination of both LC and eating at a caloric deficit. Your OP asks for advice on how to rapidly lose weight. While this is definitely very different for everyone and every body type, what has worked for me is 20g or less per day AND a significant caloric deficit. Some days I…
  • Welcome. I recommend watching the six part YouTube videos made by Dr. Jason Fung called the Etiology of Obesity. He does a very good job of explaining how this WOE works to help burn fat. I too found it hard to change my mindset after so many years of being told that dietary fat was the devil, but I can tell you that I…
  • Welcome aboard the keto train! Next stop skinnyville, population? YOU! A few quick tips that I have learned: - you won't be hungry...ever - you won't crave sweets after a couple weeks - you don't have to eat at specific times of the day. I only eat twice a day. - you can fast if you want - going very low carb can…
  • It plain sucks that the people who should want to support you the most are not. Sorry for that. As for me, I just avoid arguing with anyone about my diet. If they want to rationally discuss what I'm doing I will but as soon as it gets into an argument I back off. I just don't need the agro.
  • Gotta say, some of these pics are pretty hubba hubba! Everyone is looking great.
  • I am sure that some of us on this Forum have enjoyed the pleasure of having to ask for a seat belt extender on a plane. I've had to do that once or twice and let me tell you THAT is a very low point in one's life. There have been other embarrassing moments along my journey, but that is right up there with the worst. On one…
  • Not sure if this will work. You can see that the neck on my dress shirt is getting too large. I hate spending money on dress shirts.
  • Very interesting chart. Thanks OP for posting. I'm starting to wonder if I started out too low. I have no health issues and am just looking to lose weight. Ok, it's a LOT of weight and is in and of itself a health issue but no diabetes or anything like that. For the first four months I've been trying to stay at or below…
  • I eat a 1/2 cup of blackberries almost every day. They are my go to evening snack. I generally have a square of 85% dark chocolate and a club soda along with the blackberries. On a net carb basis they fit into my macros. I also eat raspberries from time to time. Recently I had about 1/3 of a tart apple. What a treat!
  • Here's a big thumbs up to not hating ourselves any longer!
  • That is SO awesome! Good for you!
  • ...and this ^^^
  • I LOVE this ^^^
  • What a great and inspirational post, @motown13 - I love it! I'm planning to up my own activity as the weather improves. I used to do a lot of walking and can't wait to start again (was up to 12km at a time). I also would like to take up Kayak/fishing this spring/summer and you story is spurring me on to have the confidence…
  • I just realized that I no longer get out of breath when I go up the stairs at my office, and the other day my wife commented that I am walking more quickly/easily. When I think about it it makes sense as I've lost over 50lbs. If you handed me a 50LB bag of cement and said carry it up the stairs I'd drop it on your toe and…
  • @mandycat223 that is a great story! Good for you making that donation.
