Is this a U.S. thing? I cannot possibly imagine a scenario in which an employer here in Canada could ask such questions. What is the point to the questions? If you answered "Hell Yeah, Party on Dude!" to all of those questions could they fire you, or something?

For breakfast I usually have three scrambled Omega-3 eggs. I scramble them with about 1.5 TBSP of heavy whipping cream (I no longer measure b/c I'm lazy) which is a nice easy way to add fat to breakfast and offsets the high protein content of the eggs. Super filling and rich. I also add plenty of salt to get my sodium in.…

Everyone else has provided great lists. I will just mention a strategy that is working for me. I need to lose at least 100lbs and am almost halfway there since beginning LCHF back in Oct. You could consider skipping lunch totally. This has been a revelation for me. Lunch was often my downfall as sooner or later I would…

I think this is very true. I've noticed the same thin with my bacon and eggs. Because I'm cooking them so often I'm becoming something of an expert. It stand to reason that the more we practice something the better we get. I used to struggle to cook a steak the way I like it best (medium rare) but that was when I only did…

Highly recommend reading the launch pad. Also, go on YouTube and search Dr Jason Fung. He has great videos that you can watch and will explain everything you need to know. He has successfully helped cure people with T1 and T2 diabetes.

If you are going to drink in keto you might want to switch to vodka or just about any hard liquor. A glass of wine has about 3-4g of carbs and if you are trying to stay around 20g per day a few glasses of wine could have an impact. Vodka, has no carbs. However, there are still calories to consider.

Hilarious! I am a guy but I've always worked in offices with a high percentage of women. Ive often been struck by how often people are trying to "be good" and stick to various diets. It's a bit sad, actually. And often it is young women who don't look to me as though they need to lose any weight. I guess the bottom line is…

It is comforting to know that I'm not the only one who feels self-concsious asking for the no-bun option. I'm definitely going to feel more comfortable ordering this way in the future. I will also make a point of frequenting places that do low-carb well.

Nope. I take a one-a-day multi. Not sure if it does anything and take it out of habit. The person below me has seen a significant improvement in the blood work since eating LCHF

I've also started to sometimes hard boil the eggs and mix with a couple tablespoons of full fat mayo (egg salad). That's pretty tasty and goes well with bacon, too.

I think there are many different fasts. Personally, I like the 16/8 model where you fast for 16 hours and eat for 8. That sounds fancy, but all it really means, at least for me, is skipping breakfast a couple times each week. LOL Agree with @dasher602014 highly recommend watching Dr Fung on YT. His videos are great and…

I found that for me the fog was quite manageable and last only a few days. I never took anything for it. Make sure you drink lots of water and try having a couple cups of bouillon to keep up sodium if you don't know what to look for they come in small cubes and you dissolve in boiling water. Drink it like coffee. Cheap and…

@PaleoInScotland I feel similarly. This WOE really does feel different and sustainable.

Don't we all think "this is the one!?" I know I do, even though the history of my entire life has proven otherwise. We have to have hope and be optimistic. However, in Oprah's case I'm pretty sure it's all about the Benjamins. I seriously doubt that someone with her money needs or would ever use WW. She has a private chef,…

I hear that. Had lunch out with my wife and daughter to celebrate our not so little ones 18th. We went to an upscale burger joint. We all had basically the same thing but I skipped the bun and the fries. I found myself looking at the size of these big fluffy white buns they were eating. I was trying to mentally calculate…

Similar issues here but with some discomfort. I'm 3.5 months into keto and find that I will go two or three days with no activity in the bathroom and then a day or two of escalating cramps and very loose stool. I don't like the cramps but I def feel much better afterward. I'm having to time when I weigh myself based on…

I like to keep things simple. Go with 20g of carbs and don't stress about the protein and fat. Always choose the higher fat option for your foods - so, for example when eating chicken avoid the ubiquitous boneless skinless tasteless chicken breast and instead opt for chicken thighs with skin. Not complicated, more tasty…

I would recommend waiting for a few weeks before starting any fasting. Let you body become keto adapted first. After that you may find that fasting is pretty easy on keto because you're never really hungry anyway. An easy way to start is simply going 8/16 meaning you fast for 16 hours out of 24. Basically, don't eat…

I remember doing WW with my Mother and one of her friends. Want to talk about awkward for a 13 or 14 yo boy? I mostly remember that after the meeting we would go to Harvey's for a cheeseburger. LOL For sure the only good thing about WW is the group support. Otherwise it's just an overpriced, complicated CICO plan. I've…

Yup. It seems totally counter-intuitive. It's taken me 3 months to wrap my head around it and I still won't tell most people what the "HF" stands for. Mostly because I'm tired of trying to explain it so I just say I'm Low-Carb. You've done the reading and all the research so all I will say is that I began eating this way…

I'm def a boredom eater. During the work week it's easier to eat well as I'm a distracted by work. The weekends I need to find more non-food activities to stay busy. In the evenings I allow myself to snack but on keto friendly things. I usually have a half cup of blackberries, two small squares of 85 percent dark choco and…

It's all a crock of *kitten* designed to do nothing other than suck money out of desperate people willing to do anything to lose weight. I wish they could all find their way here. I've lost over 45 lbs since mid-October thanks to all the great (free) advice here on this forum.

I don't give worry about that sort of minutia. It will drive u nuts. Eat the best quality food you can afford to and be chill. That's my opinion. Ketosis shouldn't be impacted in any significant way by the feed that the animal ate.

I'm about 3.5 months in and hope to continue forever. I'm eating 20g or less per day but when I get to maintenance I will slowly increase that to somewhere around 50. The extra carbs will come from fruit.

@reblazed I'm old. We don't watch Youtube. LOL! I'd like to say I'm kidding, but mostly I'm not. @Sunny_Bunny_ due to it being "on demand" I literally can't fast forward through ANY of it. Even the parts when the re-hash the same thing they just said 30 seconds earlier. So, yeah, I'm shaking my head and watching the…

WTG! Sounds like an awesome way to celebrate your Birthday and with no negative results. Bravo!

Focus more on what you are eating and less on how much. If you up the fat content you will be more satisfied. There is a six part YT series by Dr. Jason Fung that I highly recommend. It is a lot of information and much of it is quite dry, but he gives some very useful advice on cracking obesity. He de-bunks the whole…

Totally! I couldn't believe it when she said she'd never seen an avocado, and yet Mexican food is her fav. You may recall that she said, "Oh, that must be the green stuff!" I assume she meant Guacamole; and this woman is an EDUCATOR! I grieve for her students...and the future of our society as a whole. I can't believe I've…
