Congrats!!!! That first time running 5K is just such an amazing feeling.

I started working on my Olympic lifting specifically.

I don't think you can reset your account (at least not that I've found) but you can re-run any missions you want. Or, you could create a new account and start fresh with it?

When I had my gallbladder out, I was on weight restrictions for 3 weeks, and no "heavy lifting" for another 3 after that, per my surgeon. I developed complications anyway, and after 7 weeks, I was back to doing stuff, but there were still a lot of ab stuff that bothered me, so I just did less for a while.

I've been all about The Prodigy lately for running.

it's been a while since I ran this one, so I had to go look it up. This was the run where my headphones kept dropping out at the beginning of my run. What a perfect mission for that, 'eh? This has been one of my favorite missions, too. I wish I'd run it in the dark, but it was full daylight. I think that would have made it…

I have had horrible shin splints most of my life. Things have gotten a lot better for me, although if I do too much, I do get them now and again. But here are the things that helped me get over it. First, balanced leg muscles. I had too much calf and not enough shin. The whole spelling the alphabet with the toes and…

There is so much you can do at home with no equipment to exercise. My personal favorite "I can't get to the gym" routine is the Deck of Cards workout. All you need is a little room and a deck of cards, preferably with the jokers. Pick 4 different body weight exercises - situps, pushups, lunges, squats for example Assign…

I'm a good beer drinker like the OP. I log those 20oz mugs of beer that I get. I try to log it right when I order it so I can see what that beer is "costing" me. Some times, I go over on calories and I don't worry about. Sometimes, I don't drink the whole mug. Sometimes I don't have that third beer I really want. Sometimes…

Awesome job! You had some huge progress in just a month. I hope you plan to keep at it.

I have never been a runner. I hate running. I'm slow. I'm SLOWER than slow. I do CrossFit and it's a huge weakness of mine. So I downloaded Zombies, Run! on my phone. I have enjoyed the story and that makes running better. They now have a 5K trainer app, which I think I'm going to try next. (I just want to find out how the…

What is the best thing I ever have done for myself? Breast Reduction Surgery. I say that without any hesitation, even having had a somewhat complicated healing process because I'm allergic to dissolvable stitches. I won't say the process was easy, because it wasn't. I have never had more pain in my life. But it was soooo…

Best of luck to you!

I love this app. I normally hate running, but I thought I'd try this. Now, I actually want to go running to find out what happens next. The zombie chases add excitement and force me to speed up for a minute. I have it on android, and there is a windows phone version, too (although they're no longer updating the windows…

I have had terrible shin splints my whole life. Even as a kid, running just kinda hurt. I have high arches but I severely overpronate, in part due to weight. Things that have finally helped: * Strengthening my legs overall. I do a lot of leg exercises never focusing on just one muscle in my legs, but overall muscle…

I'm 37, work full time M-F I do CrossFit 3-4x a week I run one day a week (very slowly. I can walk faster.) right now I'm doing Olympic weightlifting 1 day every 2 weeks. I'd like it to be more than that, but there is just no time that fits into my schedule when I can lift because of when open gym is.

I would think you could start increasing weight slowly over time, making sure your form still stays correct, but that way you're constantly moving up. This is what I do, anyway. I love Olympic lifting.

I've had good luck with Lee. http://www.lee.com/LEE_STORE_US/en_US/home.html They come in a variety of sizes, lengths and styles, and I've found the quality to be decent. Petites are actually a good length for me (5'2") being neither too long nor too short.

I had been told several years ago that I had gallstones and I should have my gallbladder removed. I had never had any symptoms, so I didn't think much of it. That was until April 23 of this year. About midnight, I started to have this weird pain in my right upper abdomen. It went from being a weird pain to me thinking…

It does help to have a good box with good trainers. I know my box doesn't have an on-ramp class, but they do make sure to make sure we all know what the moves are before we start a WOD and they pay close attention to what we're doing. They know us and what our abilities are. They correct us when we're doing things wrong.…

We did something similar. Ours was 1 turkish get up (each side) 2 wall climbs 3 dumbbell snatch (each side) 4 overhead weighted situp (so held in the air the whole time, not ground to ground) 5 squats 6 1 arm DB thrusters (each side) 7 pushups 8 one arm DB swing (each side) 9 v-up 10 burpees 11 lunges 12 500m row (just one…

Squats, situps, pushups, jumping jacks, burpees, anything bodyweight works great. Also, in the realm of your plank, add side planks, boat holds, wall sits, other static holds. These are great for strengthening your body. try doing any of these Tabata style where you push for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds for 4 minutes…

I have had great luck with KT Tape. I have had horrible shin splints for years. I could barely run, and often ended up in pain. A friend recommended I try KT Tape. After using it for about a month, my shin splints are mostly gone. I can run short distances without the tape (although for doing agility work or any long…

Something else to try is kenesio tape.

I fell off the wagon, too. I'd been stuck at a plateau for a few months, and even had gained back some but mostly up and down in the same 5 lbs range. Then life got really crazy for several months. (Seriously, if I never see the inside of a hospital again, it still won't be soon enough.) I stopped logging, I didn't care as…

The Olympic lifting class was cancelled, and open gym is not at a very convenient time for me. Otherwise, I love my box.

TV show or comic book? Because my answer would be different.
