  • I used my charge HR as well as my polar ft4 with chest strap today to compare the two while I did a cardio dance dvd. The charge HR said I burnt about 23 more calories than the polar hrm. I thought that was pretty close enough.
  • Hello, all. I got my fitbit HR yesterday and am looking for some new friends for challenges! https://www.fitbit.com/user/35JYBL

  • nicehormones@gmail.com. I don't have any friends yet and would love some!
  • The only thing that has helped me is to stay away from watching tv alone as much as I can. I always binge while alone and watching tv so if I avoid that "activity" that i associate with binging, I can avoid the behavior. I still watch tv with my fiancée, but I won't eat like I do in secret with him around. I guess I have a…
  • I never did throw away all of my fat clothes, and I think it was a huge mistake. It made it "okay" for me to let my weight creep up until I no longer had clothes for work and needed to buy new clothes with money I did not have. That's painful, especially when you have a closet full of clothes that are too small. I really…
  • I would highly recommend eating above your BMR to avoid having your body hold onto the body fat. Your BMR is the amount of calories you would consume if you were in a coma. So just living your normal day alone, not even considering exercise, it's not enough calories to fuel you through your day. I would recommend going to…
  • I do plan my weekly dinners and weekend lunches every Sunday before I grocery shop. Honestly it saves me a lot of stress and probably binging by being able to just go home and make something rather than taxing my willpower.
  • I don't know what it is. Some kind of mental block I hit.. Like I let myself fail before I can even try. I also got to the same point, I've been wearing my largest work pants and they are too tight! I refuse to buy a bigger size, so that was kind of my breaking point even though I'd been trying to get myself to get back to…
  • I'm on week 1. I'm very excited and have heard good things. So far, the workouts and the people in the video keep me entertained. I like that they're only about a half hour. It makes it much easier than doing longer programs because I can't come up with a good enough excuse to not work out for only half an hour a day :P…
  • I agree. I think that everyone should exercise for the health benefits regardless of weight goals. I would try eating at maintenance calories for a month (plus a bit more if you do exercise a whole lot), and then try again. Don't let the calorie deficit be too large, though.
  • omg, you are telling me. De-licious! I haven't bought it in years, but when I did have it, I put it on everything!
  • Sounds about right. Just feels like a billion more. I would recommend only doing it 2-3 times a week. I am pretty sure Jillian even recommends about that. Need to give your muscles recovery time because that's where the gold is.
  • I think she does it for two reasons. Obviously, the drama for the show. But I think she also has the mindset that drill sergeants do when trying to get soldiers to their breaking point so that they can build them back up again to be stronger. Like she pushes them to hit rock bottom so that the only way to go is up.
  • I have learned so many valuable things from my friends here on mfp. I think the most valuable one is that I actually do not have to be perfect and that I will always have an opportunity to make better choices and won't throw away all my hard work on one bad choice. Losing the all or nothing mindset is extremely difficult…
  • Ooooh I too love the charm bracelet!! I just got a pandora bracelet for Christmas from my mommy and it has three charms so far... Oh yeah, your question. I think good rewards are things like a mani/pedi, new haircut, a bag or clothing item, new make up.. I think the rewards that make you feel pretty are the best. I also…
  • I really wouldn't worry about it if it's healthy stuff you're going over on. If you were gorging yourself on cheetos and junk all day it would be a different story. I know it's different with everyone, though, but my body does just fine with carbs and I have no trouble losing weight when I eat a lot of them. I don't really…
  • I think if it negatively affects other aspects of your life, you have a problem.
  • Often, I have a few drinks at least once per week. It does not seem to affect my weight loss as long as it fits in with my calories. I know it's not good for me though and makes it harder for the body to absorb nutrients. I should probably stop altogether, but then again, I too really do need the mental break sometimes.
  • I also stand by Lane Bryant's Cacique brand. They keep the girls in place, which is something I did extremely hard to find with most other bras.
  • I get the same way. Endorphins really can only take you so far, though. I've lived mostly my entire life being angry at everything and everyone. I think as you get older, you're perspective of the world just changes. Like if I drop something on the ground in the morning in the kitchen that I have to clean up (I am not a…
  • It's the first place I noticed my fat come off. I think after 25 pounds, you could REALLY tell a difference. The small of my back looks so tiny now, it's weird. You can't do anything to make it come off quicker; it will just happen with overall weight loss.
  • I would recommending eating at maintenance for a month and then trying again. Your body could just be sick and tired of losing weight and is telling you no more. This way, you'll switch it up and it will be used to more steady calories and will shed the weight again.
  • I have been the same way about the 150's for the last six months. It's like the magic number. I could continue losing weight easily, but then I just stop and eat/drink more calories than normal. I don't go too crazy, but I think it's just a personal thing we both have to overcome. I think I am scared of finally seeing…
  • I love cheese. I find a way to fit it into my calories no matter what. As a stupidhead in the past, I would cut cheese out to try and lose weight and only ended up making myself miserable and putting more pounds back. I LOVE Edam cheese. It's kinda pricey, but I think it's a lower calorie alternative to some if I remember…
  • It just sounds kinda icky. I think the sugar free ones are probably loaded with chemicals. I top my pancakes with peanut butter ;)
  • No. Healthy diet and exercise and your body will lose fat from where it wants. You cannot pick spots to lose fat from.
  • I eat pizza all the time. Eating thin crust (which I prefer anyway) will cut a decent amount of calories. I think it's good to add things such as peppers and veggies rather than just doing meat lovers, which is not good quality meat anyway, usually. It's also a good idea to make it yourself at home.
  • I think so. I like greek yogurt anyway for the protein. Also helps balance out the bacteria in your gut, I've read. I've also heard it's a good substitute in recipes such as sour cream and such. Haven't tried it yet, though.
  • Gift certificate for a massage, manicure/pedicure, or hair salon. I LOVE getting these because I don't have money for that kind of stuff, and even if I did I would feel guilty for spending it on these things. But I definitely enjoy them.
