  • Good job losing those 37lbs!
  • Welcome to MFP! There are plenty of good resources here and some useful information around the forums. If you would like to add me then feel free. I have found it helpful to see my friends and their progress to help keep me motivated. Edit: It appears that you have been here for a while. You can reach your goals. I would…
  • Welcome to MFP! I think you are on the right track with thinking about this as a lifestyle change and not a diet. Add things to your routine slowly and you will usually do better at sticking to them.
  • Welcome to MFP! Good job losing the weight and staying on top of it. It is easy to say "oh it's only 5 lbs" and then before you know it you are in a big hole.

  • Good job! Keep it up and you will be at your goal in no time.
  • Sorry I'm just checking in to see what people can't stand. I always find it fascinating because I have never tried anything that made me gag.
  • Welcome to MFP, Casey. Good luck reaching your goals.
  • Sorry to hear your bad experience. Mine has been completely opposite. Anyway, welcome to MFP. Good luck reaching your goals.
  • LOL! My mom pulls out the occasional y'all. She is from New Jersey and has lived in Maryland for the last 35 years. She just secretly wants to be a southern belle. Anyway, welcome to MFP, Danielle! The site is pretty good with plenty of nice people.
  • Is your mini-challenge supposed to be aimed at bodyweight squats or under weight? I usually squat under weight on the barbell when I am at the gym but there is no way I could do that 200 times in a week.
  • Welcome to MFP.
  • Welcome to MFP and congrats. I haven't done 30DS myself but I might in the near future. It's always a good feeling when people notice a change, isn't it? Scales can be way to finicky based on a couple different factors. Also remember that muscle is more dense than fat so if you put on muscle you will look skinnier but…
  • Sounds like it could be fun. I will play along. Firstly let me say hi. My name is Greg. 9/19 SW- 370. GW by Halloween- 355. What I'm planning to do to lose the weight? - Start going back to the gym. What will my reward be when I reach my goal on Halloween?- A small indulgence in halloween candy. What will I do differently…
  • The head of our HR department sends those out everyday. I know how you feel, like setting this world on fire sometimes.
  • One site that I have come across in the past seems to have a lot of great info regarding fasts. www.fasting.ws
  • There is a lot of controversy with timing of protein after workouts. What is not controversial is that protein will help muscles rebuild and recover. That is generally why it is recommended to be consumed after lifting weights. If you want to have a protein shake or bar after you work out then go for it but just be mindful…
  • Generally I would tend to stick more to reaching your calories and worry less about going over the protein, carbs and fat numbers. How many pounds lost per week have you set your MFP goal to? How many calories are you under your daily goal? You don't really want to be eating less than 1200 calories a day. There are…
  • This is how I roll. Compression shorts are a man's friend. Very nice to have a pair to wear under running shorts for exercises like the leg press. I am not opposed to just spandex but I know that some people are. I have received a few comments from passing motorists while riding my bike wearing spandex bib shorts.
  • You wear glasses. I failed...thought I quoted Izabele
  • Speaking of World War Z...they are making it into a movie that is supposed to be coming out in December of 2012. I can't wait! So far my Zombie Apocalypse survival kit is a little lacking. I have been meaning to gradually add some stuff.
  • I know that feeling all too well. From my friend this morning..."First thought when I walk into the bathroom and see no one in there: CRUSHING TIME"
  • Sweet Jeebus! I need to look into those. 18g of protein in one bagel is obnoxious and awesome!
  • My goal weight is 190 and I chose it because I can't remember what it was like to be under 200lbs. According to the BMI it is above the healthy weight for me but based on my calculations with a body fat caliper it will put me under 15% body fat. I have always taken the BMI with a grain of salt.
  • High protein, moderate fat, low carbs and lots of water is generally a good way to satisfy your appetite when you are adding a workout routine. Let me explain myself with the fat. I know that some people are scared of it, but it is actually good for us. Foods like fatty fish (salmon, etc.), almonds, peanut butter(I prefer…
  • Hi Teresa, There is a whole section for recipes and food related threads that you may want to check out. I have found this site to be very helpful and hopefully you will to. Good luck reaching your goals before your vacation.
  • Congrats on joining. Hopefully it is the first step to your journey of reaching your goals. Feel free to add me if you would like. That goes for anybody that could use another motivational friend.
  • Hi there! Welcome to MFP.
  • I second this. After some experience you will easily be able to do about 15 miles in an hour depending on location. If you want to continue to run then you might want to try switching what kind of running you are doing. Instead of a slow steady run, try going to a high school track and running some sprints. Maybe try…
  • Some more info would be helpful but it sounds like your weren't properly fueled or maybe hydrated before your workout. Do you normally eat before a workout? Some fruit a couple hours before your workout and then maybe some juice diluted with water to sip on during your workout might help you go stronger.
