I want to do spanx but the FH is adamantly against it and wants me to wear lingerie. I wish there were sexy shape wear since I'm wearing a very form fitting mermaid style dress. Suggestions?

How's everyone doing with their weight and diet goals? Trying to be more consistent. I feel like my issue is that we're also doing a bunch of DIY stuff for the wedding, so FH always wants to order a pizza or something when we' re spending the evening making center pieces. Ughhh! One bonus though - I got my GFs to join me…

October 18th! 78 days to lose about 8#! Definitely need the support and accountability! Have been trying for the past month on my own and have NOT made progress.

I take the oly class at our gym 3x per week. Consistency with right technique is key. I got very consistent with bad technique over my first 3 yrs of CrossFit. Having a coach that is an Oly specialist basically start me over a yr and a half ago, was key to me being able to get better. My bad form had me just get stuck…

Just had my first Oly meet this past weekend. PRs on both snatch and C&J. Snatch = 44kg, C&J = 57kg :) Super happy but can't wait to hit new PRs

Love this! My fiance has given me a pink demonbell and a bella bar!

I'm in the same boat as far as upper body strength. I tore my rotator cuff May 2011 and have reinjured it twice since then. I just can't seem to get that number up again. Back Squat - 195 Press - 70 Deadlift - 240 Total - 505

I'm in there 3 days on, 1 day off, sometimes taking an extra day off due to work schedule. However, my third day is always an easier day with days 1 & 2 as "destroy your will to live' days.

Also, it's important to remember form before strength before speed. Kipping is speed - to move through pullups faster and more efficiently. They should not replace the basic strength requisites of strict pullups. When I got my CF Gymnastics cert, Coach Tucker wouldn't let anyone try anything (including muscle ups) without…

I USED to be diligent writing in http://procrossfitter.blogspot.com/, but as you can see if you check it out, my work life took over a bit. I blogged about my training, but the articles I cared more about were the ones about my athletes' competitions and accomplishments.

That's what we did. Too much cherry-picking. Now I get to post it the next day (yay coaching 6am!) along with giving shout outs to the top RX man and woman of the day. Now members aim to get to the top.

My boyfriend/coach did it non-paleo for about 3 months and went from 220 to 180, but personally I couldn't do it. Another coach at our gym does it paleo for like 3 weeks at a time (hence INTERMITTANT), and has also had success. For both of them the important thing was to ease into it - pushing back meals about an hr each…

That's awesome that Michelle is your trainer. I met her a few years ago at Sectionals in Huntsville. Have cheered her on at the games twice. Broke my heart that she didn't make it this year. Say hello to her for me! Tell her she needs to make it over to Nashville soon.

whoops - hit post before i was finished. here is the rest of his response: but the biggest problem I see is that instead of *squeezing* the bar off the ground he kind of gives it a yank it's a yanking start. and i think it makes the job of holding the back tight even harder than it should be because he's managing to yank…

showed your video to my lifting coach. his feedback: "there are maybe one or two things going on that might fine-tune his set position. he might not have great voluntary control/awareness of the muscles of his back, or he might have hamstrings that need stretching, or a combination of both those things. either way, he…

Love both my RX rope and my Ultra Speed rope from Again Faster. The Again Faster one is about $20, and the RX one is not adjustable, and is $40. The RX one moves more smoothly for me, and if something happens to it you can replace the cable for $7 rather than buy a whole new rope.

Hey! Let me know how Starting Strength is going. I just got back from my gymnastics cert, and Coach Tucker has recommended me doing some of the stuff from starting strength with my coach here (he used to be with Pendlay and has worked with Rippetoe, so he knows his stuff) to build strength in my shoulders that a torn…

Glad you're going to get back into it! enjoy!

65 reps is awesome! At first when I saw this wod, I thought - "Again?? Seriously? Deja vu and a half." BUT then I thought about how it's a great way to check your progress and it familiarizes people who weren't doing CrossFit Open time last year with the always popular Fran. My coach at CrossFit Tuscaloosa took second last…

I have 2 ropes: An Again Faster Speed Rope that is a little longer for high volume wods where I may need to rely on losing form a bit (arms coming out), and an RX rope that is shorter for me to work on my wrist turnover.

ON our new shirt designs I put in one with the "Go Hard. You'll Pass Out Before you die." and another one with "I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't."

Yup! Stacey's been my coach since December. Love him! He's improved my snatch so much and a lot of my other lifts. He coaches specifically the Oly class MWF and is in charge of our Competition group and the On Ramp Beginners program.

Somehow I missed this - I'm friends with Emily Leighton and Kristen Johnson over there. Have dropped by Kevin Lowe's gym for CF Impulse v. ADD Fit throwdowns when I'm driving between CF Tuscaloosa and CF Music City. Say hey to them for me.

12.3 score: 5 Rounds + 15 Box Jumps + 12 Push Press + 6 T2B. Was on pace to get 7 rounds but did something to my left shoulder (tore rotator cuff last summer) that made my pace come to screeching halt. :( went from breaking the push press into sets of 6 to doing singles. Oh well. Wednesday is another wod :)

Have you been coming in to CFMC?

Plus if you go with performance compression socks like sigvaris (personal fave) or compression sleeves, they help on things like box jumps and double unders where people tend to get shin splints.

Did 12.2 today - hit 60. Couldn't quite get under 100...but since 80 was my 1 rep max back in Dec. and I just missed 100 (like 10 times b/c I had 2+minutes on the clock after 60)...grrrr

WOD 1 went eh...98 burpees. Several no reps. My girl Sarabeth got 121! Crazy right? There's a reason why she's at the top of the SouthEast Region. Hoping to get 60 on this next wod - but I think I have higher expectations than I should since I aimed for 110 on the burpees. ::shrug:: we'll see....
-
I'll plan on seeing you there tomorrow night! Stacey's the best. He's helped my lifts so much, and he's the coach of the competition team. His O-lift classes were actually why I picked CFMC over the other boxes in Nashville.

I have mixed feelings with CrossFit going mainstream. If it increases the sport's exposure - fantastic. And it's proven that this partnership with Reebok and people like Bob Harper tweeting about it has contributed to our growth. My mother is FINALLY FINALLY trying this "workout class" I've been doing since 2008. The…
