  • Hi kari, I am Kristen and I have lost 30 lbs since being committed to exercise and this site. I still want to get to a size 8 but I have gone from a solid 14 to getting into size 10's. Add me if you want...my friends think I am obsessed so I guess I would be supportive ha ha
  • Agree with the above posts! I used to have cheat days weekly and then I weened myself off as well as diet sodas. I feel bad if I do not go to the gym or eat well. It is a mental state and I am now obsessed. I am seriously annoyed that for the 5 days I have to be an instructor at a camp I cannot go to my gym and I am…
  • Eat your exercise cals too because otherwise you are eating under your cal goal and your body will plateau or gain because your body will go into starvation survival mode.
  • Since I am such a carnivore I cannot go by the above chart ha ha ha. Do that if that helps you again I just make sure that what I eat falls into my daily caloric intake
  • I find that so funny and so many people have said that method works. I have decreased my cals (well the site has) and I upped my activity and push myself harder at the gym and I have lost weight better that way. But I do the zig zag method
  • Our bodies are prone to go into homeostasis with good and I think that applies to exercise. Long story short you gotta keep your body guessing and in shock. So let's say hypothetically if you do cycling everyday your body gets used to that (esp you are working the same muscle group everyday) and it stops working as hard.…

  • HA HA Not I...I cannot say I portion I just calorie count which ultimately makes me portion because while I would like to eat a 16 oz steak when I see the cals I decide not to. If I eat a half a lb of ground beef I make sure it is like 7% fat bc I know that is only 340 cals. I like to eat big for dinner bc I know I will go…
  • Ahhhhhhhhh yeah living in the middle of no where does not help ha ha. Well again try to fit in some fitness and like the last post said maybe up the cals a bit but try to lower your deficit.
  • We do have a gym, however I don't live on campus, I live out of town. I know the gym here doesn't have too much, so I usually rely on the good ol' wii when I get the chance. My schedule was crazy this year. Full classes from 8-5pm then sometimes work at night. [/quote] I bet...I understand you on the schedule..just fit in…
  • Yeah when I plateaued I looked at other things to try. The zig zag works for me and it may or may not work for you. I also gym it everyday burning at least 800 cals or more (bc I like to eat ha ha) and calorie counting with no carbs or little carbs at night. I also gave up diet sodas and make sure I get my 8 cups of water.…
  • Oh I had so much more time in college ha ha ha! Does your college have a gym? Even if it is working on the cardio machines any activity is good and oddly enough it makes me feel better. Some days I leave work (school teacher :S ) with splitting headaches and I make myself go and I feel better after. Even if it means you…
  • I have those days too. I do not know your personal life situation (i.e. if you have kids) but if I know I am going to have late nights I do early morning exercises (like 5:45 a spin classes) or I do those on days I know I will not workout after work. It is not fun to wake up that early but at least i know my workout is…
  • Depends on how huge the deficit/ Remember that if you eat way too few cals then your body will go into "starvation mode" and it will tell itself to not burn any fat or lose weight then you will plateau. Try to eat close to your net cals for the day mostly
  • Sorry if I misposted but that is what I meant. I have low days, equal days and high days and it works for me but bodies are different and we respond to diff things differently.
  • I agree with the last post...1200 is low. I am set at 1250 and I could go crazy on that so I work out hard to get exercise cals to consume. I think the zig zagging would work if you are exercising and eating those too. Make sure you are not having a deficit daily because your body will go into starvation mode. Also, try…
  • Add me if you want I am addicted ha ha. Lost 30 lbs so far since Jan...even tomorrow will be at the gym in the morning
  • You are doing amazing and keep it up!!
  • I eat my exercise cals but I zig zag so tonight I will do 200 less and tomorrow I will eat all my cals (net and exercise) and Tuesday I will go a little over and repeat. Tricks the metabolism. Since I like to eat I work out a ton at the gym too if that helps
  • Give yourself a treat meal once a week. I fight my cal cravings with skinny cow or fruits or jello pudding sugar free. Personally, I do try to work out to make up for it and I portion size it and I count it in my cals. So have your DQ cake...one day will not kill you but I would work out so it will not be too bad.
  • Try the zig zag calorie method. I do that it is where one day you count two hundred cals less than your goal, one day exact amount and one day 200 over. It tricks your metabolism...also make sure you are doing different workouts each day. See if that helps!
  • Awesome progress! That is an amazing job and you look great! I am a little jealous ha ha ha jk
  • You look fantastic! Keep it up!
  • Thanks for the responses everyone but I am more so talking about while doing aerobic classes...not the machines because I know those are off ha ha ha
  • Thanks ladies sooooooooooo much!
  • Could be bloating? Also, you gotta switch up the exercise and not do the same thing every day. Also, look into zig zag calorie counting..I use that.

  • Ultimately it is still calories and it is about the dressing and what is in the salad. I love to use salad as a tool to fill me up for lunch for dinner because 2 cups is like 15 cals.
  • OH that is an amazing feat and you look awesome! Keep it up!!! Things like this let me know I can definitely keep it going and maintain when I get to that point.
  • I love CHI. The journey will be hard but you can do it. Sometimes having a goal in mind helps you achieve it. I said I wanted to be a size 8 and wear a bikini and cute shorts so that was my motivation. It is starting to happen and now I am more motivated and determined than ever. Use that goal to look amazing in your…

  • Jenny, I started off the year 30 lbs heavier. I can do it and as you can see I still have some more lbs to lose but I am so determined. It will be hard at first but it is a mind change. I tell anyone if I can do it you can and I was a yo-yo dieter for a long time. I finally snapped and changed my bad habits. When you are…
