I'm running my second half marathon this fall- Disneyland Half Marathon, Sept 4th! Also contemplating some other half marathons, namely the Napa Valley Wine Country Half in October and the Inaugural Tinkerbell Half Marathon in January (I'm a disney nut). :)

I'd LOVE to join this challenge if I still can! I'm running my second half marathon on 9/04, so this will be great motivation to get out and do my training! :) SW: 214 CW: 209 GW: 189 (with all the running I'm going a bit lofty and shooting for 2 lbs/week and the elusive sub-190!) NSV: Finish my half marathon with a better…

Sashimi! It's just the plain fish, so it's going to give you nutrition without unnecessary calories. Avoid ones with sauces or lots of avocado/dairy, as those add up quickly. Use wasabi or pickled ginger to add flavor and limit calories. I would be wary of an earlier suggestion to go for the miso soup. If you're trying to…

I feel for you! I'm in the Central Valley of California, so while it's hot, I'm fortunate enough to have very low humidity. I lived in the Midwest for a couple years and couldn't stand the humidity! My first half marathon was in high humidity/heat conditions...I trained for months but the weather got to me so much that I…

I finished L1D2 this afternoon. Weird turn of events meant I did that last half of the last circuit after a 10 minute break. Not stressing about it though. My abs already feel better on the crunches and, ironically, my calves are killing me. No idea how that works since I run, but whatever!

932 sounds WAY too high. For the average 150 pound person I've never seen a calorie estimate for activity above 800 an hour. That includes running a 10 min mile and swimming laps. The 533 sounds a bit high, but with age, weight, and height it could be somewhat close. I'd suggest looking at a lot of different calorie…

I usually go for a light, but high protein snack. Everything from string cheese, hardboiled egg with some tomato slices, apple with peanut butter, smoothie, and yes, after longer runs, a chocolate milk tastes pretty darn good. Just make sure the calorie content of your snack isn't going to ruin the progress you made with…

Got in Day 1! I'm pushing myself, but trying not to over exert - I'm training for a half marathon and still need my legs to get me through running about 15 miles a week (plus walking the dog a few days of the week)! Anyone else HATE those sideways lunges at the end? They feel so awkward!

Just keep pushing. I think for some it may take longer than 30 days to finish- the main point it challenging your body a little bit each day, every day. For me, I'm in Level 1. I'll see how I feel on Day 10, but if I need extra time, I might just do Level 1 for 15 days and Level 2 for 15 and skip Level 3. I really do…

I really want a nice pair of dark skinny jeans and some mid-calf brown leather boots! I have larger calves in general, so until I loose the weight I can't find any that fit properly!

I love larabars! I wouldn't worry too much about the sugar/fat content if you're building it into your daily calorie count. The sugars are from the dates and the fat from nuts, so they're not quite as offensive as the added white sugar that can be found in some other bars. (I'm a big fan of the very short ingredient list!)…

I was going to use it just a couple days a week with running, but this is the motivation I need to do it for 30 days straight! I'm in!

Try making a frittata ahead of time. It's egg based, but you can load it up with LOTS of veggies for a filling meal with a bit more flavor. http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/florentine-frittata-10000000226424/ I made this one out of one of my Cooking Light cookbooks and LOVED it. It's a pretty hefty serving for 265 calories-…

Weight loss is calories in, calories out. Your body won't necessarily target what you just ate when you exercise or target just fat. When you exercise, your body will go for simple sugars first- they're the most efficient fuel for your body to use. Those simple sugars, or glycogen, are typically stored in your body and…

I track my calories, so if I still have some left and I'm hungry I eat a snack, regardless of the time. I do make an effort to drink some water and wait 20 min. If I'm still hungry then I know it's true hunger and not thirst, so I fix a light but wholesome snack. I usually stick to fruit, small amount of peanut butter, a…

I just tried spaghetti squash last week and picked up two more this week it's THAT good! I tried poking it with a knife and microwaving the whole squash 10 min the first time around. I let it sit for 5 and then cut it in half. This obviously made it easy to cut, but a bit harder to separate out the seeds. I also tried just…

I also do this with kale. My tips for making kale chips: - separate out the leaf from the thick stalks to eliminate the bitter tasta - Make sure you spread them out into only one layer and stir them up (gently!) after 10 minutes or so to make sure they're crispy - over times will differ, so check often after the first…

Thanks so much everybody! I really look forward to getting to know you and getting/giving encouragement! :)
