I have a Garmin VivoFit with the HRM strap (optional). I got it because I do water aerobics and water zumba and it is the only one I could find reasonably priced ($129) that was water resistant. I wear it 24/7. It also gives me a fitness goal every day based on past performance and if I haven't moved enough in an hour, a…

You can't even be sure if you add it all yourself. Food manufacturers tinker with their "recipes" all the time.

ACSIS Rythmn Gel 2 are made for Zumba. I got them on Amazon for less than $45. They are perfect!

100 grams is not too much. I aim for 135 grams every day. It takes a lot more before you have to worry about health problems.
-
Look for the USDA one or the generic one. It's generally in 100 gram units. There can be a big difference in actual weight and what fits in a measuring cup.

The Flex is useless for water aerobics or water zumba. BodyMedia doesn't work for it either. That's why I bought the VivoFit. I see that it is being used by Biggest Loser this season. They previously used BodyMedia. I love my purple VivoFit.

Holding on to a shopping cart, stroller or something of that nature will affect the step count on the BodyMedia, according to their tech support, and I'm sure it applies to all these devices regardless of brands. The calorie burn is correct, however.

What's the point of exercise? How about strong bones, keeping muscle mass and burning fat, feeling great, to name a few.
-
There's 3 servings in the bag so 1o5 is no where near the actually count which would be close to 450.

I do Atkins and if you do it properly, eventually no food is off limits, contrary to those who think low carb is high protein. It's actually high fat, medium protein and low complex carbs - tons of veggies). You can get all the inio for free if you go to atkins.com and click on the learning atkins tab. People who push…

The body has no need for any carbs. If you don't eat enough protein and fat you will die.

My doctor told me not to eat back exercise calories. 1200 is the lowest amount of calories you should eat because that is what is required for good nutrition. You would just lose weight faster.

You should be having some protein within an hour of working out. I always have a protein shake. No hunger when I do.
-
Machines also calculate more calories than actually burned. A HRM or BodyMedia is more accurate.

Eating too little will stall your weight loss and so will eating some foods. I didn't lose until I got rid of all processed foods. I've changed to low carb and feel the best I have in years. Eating less than 1200 calories means you are probably not giving your body all the nutrients it needs. Eating smaller portions may…

Any of them work well - they lighten your wallet. They can be dangerous. Why would you want to use this stuff?

This is not the place to ask this question. You need to ask your surgeon.

I have been on steroids for respiratory problems all my life. Weight loss was almost non-existant until my doctor told me to go low carb - no more than 50 grams of net carbs and at least 100 grams of protein with the rest of my calories from healthy fats. The weight came off and now it stays off as long as I follow his…

If you want to be successful at weight loss, you have to be willing to do what is necessary and that is eating a varied, healthy diet. I cannot believe you have tried every fruit and vegetable and every way of preparing them. With the way you eat, running isn't going to do a thing. Being a picky eater is a way to get…

Special K protein shakes are a joke. We're talking about 20 or more grams of protein per shake. I love Premier Protein or Pure Protein in Chocolate or Vanilla.

I'm about 50 miles from Richmond in Yorktown, VA.

This works perfectly for me with FireFox. I never have a problem and have used it for a year and a half. Sounds like something in your computer settings.

Eat carbs - gain fat. Eat protein and fat - gain muscle. I eat over 100 grams of protein a day and have never been healthier. I'm 72 years old. The body has no requirement for carbs of any kind. If you don't eat sufficient fat and prote8in, you will die. Thank you, I'll eat plenty of protein.

I had this surgery back in 1977 (I'm 72 years old) when it was just starting. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. There is a wonderful group over on 3 Fat Chicks in the Weight Loss Surgery section (www.3fatchicks.com) and a tone of information ab9out what to expect, how they have done, etc. I lost 214 pounds…

I like the ATKINS shakes, too.

Get rid of them as soon as possible. Keeping them tells your brain you know you won't be successful in the long run. If you have clothes suitable for work, I took mine to a women's shelter. These ladies don't have clothes to apply for jobs and interviewing. They were very grateful. Other stuff I took to the Disabled…

It's mostly water weight and it will come off in a few days but up your water intake until it does. I do low carb - Atkins - and if you follow the plan correctly, you work your way up the carb ladder and the occasional simple carb works in very nicely. The real problem with cheat days or meals is that they can awaken carb…

Low carb is 100 net carbs or less per day.

You should be eating back at least half your exercise calories. Try to stay away from processed foods. Protein and fat keep you feeling full longest. I'm sure others have better answers that are more specific.
