That's nothing to brag about - being 900 calories under your goal means you are losing muscle along with fat. That's anything but smart.

I noticed a line around the block at the drug store this morning. Must have been all the people lined up for these magic pills. Of course they do lighten your wallet. Quite looking for the magic elixir. The way to lose weight is eat right, have a calorie deficiet and exercise.

Mirrors don't lie, you brain does. Most people do not see themselves as others do. The best way to get an accurate view is to take a picture.

I see a lot of people making comments on this who haven't watched the programs and haven't a clue what they are talking about. After I watched it, I am saddened by what the USDA has allowed to be done to our food supply. Manufacturers spent billions to get just the right combination of sugar, fat, and salt to keep us…

I did indeed make myself fat. Information on nutrition has been around longer than manufactured food but people ignore it. What makes me angry is when is see elementary school children who are so obese. Now they can say their parents made them fat - and keep them that way by not providing proper food. Every time I see a…

Your surgery was 2 months ago. If that swelling is from surgery, you need to return to your doctor ASAP. I'd say the increased inches are due to the increase in weight.

Another bunch of uninformed people commenting on low carb way of life. You body needs absolutely no carbs. There is no RDA for carbs. There are no conditions associated with low carb but there are numerous for low protein. If you follow it properly, it is completely sustainable. The body burns glucose for fuel. Fat is…

You should follow the routine, njot mess around with it or you won't get the correct results. You may actually feel better after eliminatin all those foods because they gradually affected you and you didn't notice the change cuilding up.

Pop tarts or cereal - neither! Red meat has iron. That fortified stuff may or may not be used by your body. Processed food is no place to get good nutrition.

For me it makes a huge difference. I aim for 50 net carbs (total carbs minus fiber) a day and at least 100 grams of protein. I am hypothyroid so expect weight loss to be slow. Since May 7, I'm down 27 pounds. I'm never hungry. My doctor gave me these numbers. Carbs cause water retention. For every gram of carbs, 4 grams of…

You have to weigh on a solid floor, not carpet. Can't you take your scale to another room, weigh and then put it away? It's a waste of time to try to weigh on carpet.

You can add a lot of protein with protein shakes and they won't fill you too much. I have one every morning for breakfast. Get the powder and mix it with 8 ounces of water or milk, add some fruit if you want a smoothie. Get the good stuff for muscle building.

You also need to do strength training. You can't judge how vigorous your exercise is because you are sweaty and tired when done. You need to measure your heart rate and be in the fat burning zone. You can actually exercise too hard and not get the benefit. Take pictures. You can often notice your body change in a picture…

The only accurate way is to be weighed under water. If you are relying on what a scale says, it is never accurate.

You need strength training to lose fat and gain muscle. If you didn't do strength training while losing, you have lost muscle along with fat. You don't need to lose weight, you need to tone up.

Milk, fruits and vegetables all contrain sugar naturally. Read labels. That's how you know if its added sugar.

That could be adequate for her since she is eating healthy foods. You need to eat 100 calories per day less starting at age 40 because your metabolism slows down. You take another 100 off every 10 years so she would now be needing 400 calories a day less than when she was younger. If her activity is sedentary, it could be…

Weight gain isn't a side effect of Celexa. That doesn't mean it doesn't occur with a few people, but it would be rare. I've been on it for 6 years and have no problem losing. I can only blame gains of overeating.

Are you sure its hunger? The onion could be giving your heartburn.

Carrots and root vegetables are vegtables. They are classified as starchy vegetables. 3 ounces of carrots is 35 calories, not 35 carbs. It's more like 8. Check the database and get the facts.

Its already on the label. All GMO foods have a bar code that starts with 8. The only way to avoid them is to go organic. No GMOs are allowed in any food labeled organic.

Always order from the simple and fit side of the menu. The taliapa is a great choice. I ask for a double order of broccoli and no potatoes. There was probably full fat salad dressing, the chicken was marinated in oil and who knows what else, full fat cheese, nuts, fruits? The calories can mount up quickly on salads. You…

You need to add strength training 2 times a week to keep the lean body mass you have otherwise you will lose it along with the fat.

Whey protein has about 130-140 calories for 25 grams. That is anything but a lot of calories. A serving of meat has more than that for the same grams.
-
Guys, it makes no sense to say that you gain weight if you eat too few calories (also you can google it and find it is a myth) because if that were the case, people couldn't become anorexic or starve to death.
-
I see a ton of cardio but no strength training, amiciconte.

Muscle and fat weigh the same. 16 ounces of either = 1 pound. Muscle is less dense than fat so you get the toned smaller body than someone who does do weights. If you are doing weights while losing weight, you are losing muscle along with fat. That is undesireable because you will be able to eat less in maintenance since…

It has been proven that drinking water does nothing to satisfy hunger. It could be a placebo effect. Liquids leave your stomach very fast..

I'd love to be your friend. I'm 71. I started medically supervised low carb diet of 1,000 calories, no more than 50 grams of net carbs, at least 100 grams of protein May 7 and am having fantastic results. I also believe in the value of exercise. I go to the Y about 12 hours a week doing strength training, water aerobics,…

I see a lot more than 20 carbs and you said you are in the second week. I also see too much cheese and not enough vegetables. Vegetables are where you get fiber.
