  • Hi ladies, I'm going to do my best to be accountable and to avoid binging as much as I can. Today the binge has won but tomorrow will be a new day! I have a lot on my plate lately and could really use the support.
  • Unrelated to the actual mileage beforehand, but dress accordingly. Overdressing can really put a damper on your comfort level and time. I just did a 5 K and overheated so much that I had to slow down and walk a bit. That being said, run in clothes that you have run in before.
  • I prefer to run alone, but as MoreBean13 says, safety is also important. That being said, I like the trail too, but I only go there during the weekend afternoons when there are lots of people around. Otherwise, I take the main streets or just hit the treadmill at my university's gym.
  • Hi there, I'm Canadian and a mom to a 5 year old. I run regularly and do Insanity/Asylum 1-2 x a week. Lately I've been having too many temptations from sweets but am committed to starting anew and doing my best! I'll send you a request:)
  • Feel free to add me! I admit that I don't really weigh myself - I should though because I really don't know my progress. I'm similar in the open-mindedness thing, and I like getting new meal and recipe ideas.
  • I met my partner at a mutual friend's wedding. I was actually found him very annoying when we first met, but I did think he was geeky cute. We exchanged numbers that day and started hanging out and studying together at the university library. More than nine years later, we're still crazy about each other and have a…
  • Hi all, I'm in if there's room! I'm aiming for 150 this month. Just did my end of September check in and came in at 123.75 miles. Thanks so much:)

  • Hi, I use this webpage when I'm not sure: http://www.runnersworld.com/cda/whattowear/0,7152,s6-240-325-330-0,00.html You just input the temperature, wind, whether you want to feel warm or cool, and the weather conditions. I like it.
  • As Shaun T. says, dig deeper! Don't give up and don't worry about keeping up with the cast. Form is more important than speed. Trust me, you will get stronger if you keep at it. The FitTests will help you gauge this every so often. Best of luck!
  • Bread is my weakness! I just love it too much!
  • Insanity all the way!
  • Yup! I gain as much as 8 pounds, which shows A LOT on me since I'm only 4'11".
  • Hi everyone, Just doing a mid-month check-in! 9/1 - 6.5 miles 9/2 - 6.25 miles 9/4 - 3.5 miles 9/7 - 12. 25 miles 9/9 - 1.5 miles 9/10 - 6.1 miles 9/12 - 9.2 miles 9/14 - 9.5 miles 9/15 - 4 miles Total so far: 58.8 miles What a crazy month! School started again and I'm still adjusting to my teaching schedule after being…
  • Jari Love's Ripped in 1000 is a great way to do both full body weights and cardio in one workout. You can adjust the weights and number of risers on your step and that way, people of all levels can do it. This is what I used when I started working out after having my baby.
  • Have you changed the amount of weight you're lifting? I've increased the weights and am seeing good results. Another way of varying the Asylum strength workout is to use the bands rather than the weights. I get what you mean in terms of shaking things up. You can always look into incorporating P90X into your rotation for…
  • Insanity and Insanity Asylum - hard, but so worth the effort! You'll need some space though. Cathe's workouts are good too but not as hard. They helped me lose the 60 pounds I put on during my pregnancy. Collagevideo.com (not affiliated) has clips of her videos and many others if you want to take a look and find out what…
  • This is great! I'm in! I have a 5k on the 22nd of this month and a half marathon on October 14th. I'm going for the 100+ mile challenge. So far: 9/1 - 6.5 miles 9/3 - out for a 7 miler soon
  • Late to the game, but I'm in! Height: 4.11 SW: 115 CW: 112 lbs (weighed in August 31st) GW: 100 lbs Just for fun: What is the craziest weight related comment someone has made to you since you started to lose weight? I actually started my weight loss journey after having my daughter. I had put on 60 pounds and my SIL said…
  • Yes, I'm lactose intolerant. But there are so many other options so it's fine. If I drink regular milk, I will have the worst stomach pain and no one will want to be around me or the bathrooms I enter.
  • Hi there, I'm a mom to a five year old girl. While the pregnancy was a rough one since I was sick pretty much until the end, it was well worth it:) I did gain over 60 pounds, which is A LOT on my 4,11 frame. Through really hard work, I did lose it all within 15 months. I exercise whenever I can fit it in, although I prefer…
  • Green smoothie and an english muffin with almond butter. For the green smoothie, I put in one cup of fresh spinach (not the bagged kind), half a banana, 1/3 cup of plain greek yogurt, one celery stalk, a squeeze of lemon, and water. I blend and enjoy it! Other days I'll have a veggie omelette made with one egg, four egg…

  • How long of a workout were you thinking? If you have an hour, you can try Jari Love's DVDs. There's one called Ripped 1000 that alternates weights with short bursts of cardio and it can be modified for any level. Cathe also has really good ones. A similar one like the one I mentioned is Boot Camp - it consists of a warmup,…
  • HI there! I'm Canadian too and am a mommy to a 5 year old. Feel free to add me:)
  • I'm so glad you posted this. I'm in the same boat and am so frustrated! I've only lost 2 pounds in the past two months.
  • I love this story - what a funny love story!
  • Sorry to hear that and yay for the lemon lime workout gear. I agree with the other poster - just start exercising. Your sis has a room, so she can go back there. Just stand your ground and do it - even if she gets mad. Hopefully she'll get the point and go back upstairs. These things should not sabotage your workout plans…
  • Hi everyone, I'm going to start another round of Insanity/Insanity Asylum soon! It would be great to talk to each other about these workouts. Feel free to add me:)
  • Are you sure that you are accurately measuring your food? For instance, the calories in bananas vary widely depending on size and weight. For instance, the banana I had today had over 140 calories. Be especially wary of things like cereal too. A box of cereal can say 1 cup equals 30 grams and 120 calories but then if you…
