  • I recently asked my doctor this exact question and he said not to add the exercise calories. There is lots of debate on this but I do not add mine and I am fine. I have recently upped my calories from 1200 to 1500 on advice of my doc. Good luck on your journey!
  • Try taking melatonin about an hour before bed. This helps me when I work out late. It is a totally natural ingrediant that your body produces but sometimes it needs a little help especially if you are working out within 3 hours of bedtime. Good luck and happy dreams to you!

  • Believe me I have talked to him and it just makes him mad. I told him everything I said here and he just storms off.
  • Anything you enjoy, Try different things until you find what you like. I use to only do ellipitical but starting using the recumbent bike and love it. So I switch them out. Really anything you like and will keep you going. I also love doing weights, it is fun to see the little bit of muscle under all the fat!

  • When you first work out, you gained weight. Just hang in there, it will drop. Your body may be holding on to fluids from the working out. Just ignore the dang scale it is evilllll. How are your clothes fitting, did you measure yourself? Look at those clues to see if you are gaining muscle, muscle weighs more than fat!

  • Welcome! The first week will be a little tough but once you get into the habit, it just happens! I exercise 5-6 days 60 minutes a day and now it is just a habit that I look forward to. Best of luck and let me know if I can do anything to help.
  • I don't eat my exercise calories, seems like it defeat the purpose of exercising. Calories in/calories out is what it is all about. Today it told me I had 1450 exercise calories - that is crazy more than my 1200 allowed. I would never be able to eat all of them!
  • I work out 6 days a week. It is all about calories in, calories out. Yes if you exercise a lot sometimes you will be building muscle and may have a temporary gain but it will all even out.   • I quit WW after one week on MFP I like it so much better. I don't know why but I just do. I guess I like calorie counting more than points, just makes more sense and easier to track.

  • Great will power! My husband loves to go to Costco for the samples. I am never tempted because I always feel they look at me and think "hey fat chick why are you eating this you do not need any more calories". Guess I should get over that!

  • Definitely not! You should exercise at least 5-6 times a week to lose weight. I exercise 6 days a week for an hour or so every day.

  • My daughter hates water too but she will drink Propel. Try those or put lemon in your water. I love water but it was an acquired taste. I just forced myself and now I love water and drink about 10-15 glasses a day!
