Love my coffee in the am, throw in 1/2 a protein shake and I have a yummy latte. Premier Protein drinks, from Sam's 30 gr of protein per box, so I get 15 easy, quick, and relatively cheap and 80 calories. You could also use it on cereal.

Glad to have you on board. As others said. it's never too late to want a better life. As a fellow 'person of age' I understand a few of the issues and challenges. Just getting out of bed is a cardio workout some days!!

I had to go back and forth several times to figure out which guy you were. Wonderful change.

Amazing, wisdom and voices of sanity...listen to them, they DO know. So much wonderful thoughtful advice. We all have those days, just keep on coming back, logging, and moving. You CAN do this.

Um...yup....or bag the offensive items and give to someone who would like, food pantry, skinny undernourished co-worker. Someone might as well enjoy. Eventually Mom will get the hint, maybe even before you find that place of your own.

The only other bit of advice I have been given is look primarily at 'intentional' exercise, the extras you do as a workout. The regular stuff, stairs, daily chores, work are theoretically figured in your 'lifestyle'. So *sigh* I don't count the cooking and cleaning, lawn mowing anymore....(um, let's make that snow…

Mornings I'm hungry but don't want to eat so, my breakfast in the am is decaf coffees with protein shake as the 'creamer'. I get my 15 gr of protein that I need without being to full for a morning workout (Zumba) and am ready for something more substantial later, sometimes lunch. My current protein of choice is Premier…

I'm 60...There are pictures..not before and after just pics....this time around I'v lost 16 lbs in about 3.5 months. Apparently for me, the key has been adding exercise. Calories alone just didn't work. Feel free to friend/message. ( I am working with a physician/hospital supervised program, so no fly-by night ,29.95, eat…

It gets easier as you do it. So much IS a guess. Once you get a start on some of the things you eat on a regular basis that makes it easier as well. From what I've seen this is one of the BEST and EASIEST places to track calories and nutrition.

Finally wore my HRM to class and I burned 672 cal in an hour...which is wonderful as Zumba is so much fun. Look (if you have choices) for an instructor who wants her group to have fun, if you don't see smiles, laughter, and lots of baby giraffes in the back row then might not be the best. After 3 months I still end up…

My 'expert' in the weight loss program I'm in ( through our local hospital) strongly suggests 30 minutes of cardio MOST days of the week, (5 or 6). Means finding your target heart rate and being IN that zone for those 30 minutes. It's working for me. Treadmill etc didn't do it, ZUmba does, 60 minutes of dancing makes me…

Squirrel! As a special education teacher I saw a lot of ADD/ADHD diagnosis/misdiagnosis, worked with students with it, became relatively educated about it in the 80's. The lightbulb became even brighter when my son was diagnosed in 3rd grade and meds helped him become a successful student. As my life became more…

Wonderful work. Keep it up....:flowerforyou:

OMG...YES!!! Made mine with a small redskin and used a potato peeler as I did not have a mandolin, worked wonderfully. MAking my own will a) burn off calories 'peeling' them....b) limit the amount I'm willing to fix and eat. Win-Win

Cathy 7794...I do know where Kalkaska is, but thinking boring isn't all that bad. Deer season should perk things up a bit. Congratulations on a wonderful weight loss! :glasses:

Grew up in Jackson, college at GVSC , then moved to Pierport where I had summered forever. Love that I live where most folk only get to vacation. IMHO Michigan is one of the most beautiful places ever.

MAybe next year...Traverse City has one as well. Perhaps this will be a goal, not necessarily to run it but to even walk it would be awesome.

Thank you! You started pretty close to where I did in size and shape, great inspiration for me to think I could come close to where you are today. I'm still at the beginning of my journey but will keep the images of your before and after pictures in the back of my mind as a goal.
