  • That's a helluva story! Love it :flowerforyou: 1. How long after meeting your SO did you knew he/she was the one? I think my heart knew right away, but it took my head a while to catch up. 2. How long did it take to declare it to him/her? It's been so long now I cannot even remember 3. How did you know (describe the…
  • Also check out websites for your local grocery stores. We have Smith's here, and they offer electronic and printable coupons on their websites. The coupons offered will often coincide with the items currently on sale for the week...BONUS!! I often save $30 or more with coupons at the grocery store.

  • Does it involve amputation??
  • From your previous post, it sounds like you have only been logging for 2 weeks now. And you've lost 7 pounds in those 2 weeks. Considering those facts, you are not on a plateau. When you have a month or more of working your program with no loss, THAT's a plateau. Just keep on the program, and you'll get there. :)
  • I think if you find some quality shoes that really fit, wearing high heels does not have to hurt. Even when I was close to 200 pounds, I never had a problem. It also probably takes some practice to be comfortable in them. You definitely have to alter your walk when you wear heels...can't clomp around like you would in…

  • You don't really say what you're doing with your diet, only the workouts. If you're still eating at a calorie deficit, you should be fine. Sometimes, your body just doesn't work within your schedule. It's only been 2 weeks. Give it time...you'll get there! :)

  • OP - That's awesome that you have inspired your coworkers towards more healthy habits! :) I work for a company that was founded on healthy lifestyles and positive changes for life, so most of my coworkers are pretty healthy. I have noticed that most people who start here overweight usually see some change within the first…
  • I've been asked a few times over the years, but the worst was when my grandma asked & when I said no she responded "Just fat, huh?" That was kinda the last straw in our relationship, and we rarely spoke after that incident. I slipped up and asked someone a while back. When she said no I was absolutely mortified. It was a…
  • After I was diagnosed with Graves' Disease, I went in for my first appointment with the endocrinologist. He asked how I knew something was wrong, and I told him I lost 25 pounds without even trying. His response "That was probably good for you." Honestly, I was incensed at the time. But after some real soul-searching I…
  • That's great info to have! I absolutely love my Misto. I think I use a lot less oil when I mist it on rather than measuring it into the pan, because it disburses so much better. Ive been just guestimating about 1/4 tablespoon per use, but I'll have to start counting. ;)
  • HATE chickpeas...but I love, love, Hummus! I don't think it tastes anything like cream cheese, tho... :noway:
  • I'm 44 years old (45 in Dec) and have lost right at 50 pounds total. It has taken me over 4 years to lose all the weight, but I have a thyroid condition that hampered my weight loss to an extent. Also, I fell off the wagon many times and jumped off with both feet more than once! LOL I have never netted less than 1450 cals…
  • Not a fan of cow's milk, although I do enjoy all other types of dairy. I like the almond milk on my cereal, and it's about 1/3 calories of the skim milk I was using. WIN!!!
  • I think we're having grilled pork steaks, pine nut cous-cous and corn on the cob...with a glass of wine, or course. :drinker:
  • I once worked with a woman who pronounced Envelope (paper kind) as N-vel-up.
  • Wine & quiet dinner at home with hubby tonight. Hiking and a visit to the wine store tomorrow. Can't wait! They have 2 tastings going on tomorrow...and I need to restock! :)
  • Used to use Cardio Trainer, and it is a great app. You must have a Polar Bluetooth HRM for it to track your heart rate. But the other features are really great. If you do have Polar Bluetooth HRM, I would recommend using SportsTracker, instead. It gives you the same info as Cardio Trainer but also uses your actual heart…
  • But MFP is set up so it really is that simple. You put in your stats and your goals, and MFP gives you a baseline calorie goal per day. You log your food, and calories available go down. You log your exercise, and calories available go up. The calculator tells you exactly what to do, and it works for pretty much everyone.…
  • My hubby took this pic of me while we were hiking in Zion NP. I'm sitting at the Upper Emerald Pool at the top of that trail. It was quite a serene spot, and seeing this pic really takes me back there. I swiped a copy off his FB.

  • In America... ALWAYS overdress for the interview. Especially in this economy, you cannot take any chances. My son just received his first job offer. He graduated from college in May with a BS in Engineering and had to submit over 600 applications before receiving this offer. He probably only had 15 interviews out of those…
  • ^^This! Well said, Lora. If you've been doing this for a while and this is the first week you've gone without any loss, you've been really lucky. But also keep in mind that as you lose you need to recalculate your calorie goals in MFP. Especially with a loss of almost 20 pounds, it's probably time to lower those…
  • You didn't really say where you have your current settings in MFP. I would mention a couple of things. First of all, when you only have a little weight to lose it's going to come off MUCH slower. It's very hard to consistently lose 1 or 2 pounds per week when you only have 10 pounds to lose. I would recommend setting your…
  • Hiking!! I absolutely love it! I live in Las Vegas, and we are surrounded by beautiful mountains. My hubby and I try to get out every weekend for a nice long hike. I love seeing the plants and wildlife. I've had a couple of close encounters with Desert Bighorn Sheep in the mountains around LV. Hiking is challenging,…
  • I live in Las Vegas, work in purchasing for a FABULOUS day spa on the strip. I'm 44 and officially became an empty-nester last week. My son got his first job and moved to Rockford, IL...signed his first lease on Saturday. So now it's just my hubby and I with our fur-babies. I'm sure it's pretty boring to you, but I love my…
  • Regardless of whether you were exercising or not, if you are staying within your calorie goal (and your diary says that you are) you should be losing weight after 2 full months. I would ask how accurately you are measuring your food and whether you diary reflects EVERYthing that you are eating. My advice would be to…
  • ^^This!! I had my underarms done, and they are smooth and pretty. No more bumps or rash...beautiful! I'm so happy with those results I am going to have my entire body done: legs, bikini, face, tummy...the works!
  • I work inside one of the resort in Las Vegas, and it is like running a gauntlet to get in and out of here every day. Mornings are not so bad, because most of the tourists are in their rooms sleeping it off. But in the afternoons, I have to dodge in and out of the people who walk around like turkeys in the rain. They don't…
  • How are you determining how many calories to log for your exercise? I see you log 455 cals for 35 minutes of circuit training. Is from number from a HRM? Frankly, it sounds really high. And are you sure you are running a 10 min mile? That's a pretty fast pace. I would guess that you are over-estimating your calories…
