I wouldn't consider myself a runner yet, but I did start C25K recently with a friend and I've been surprised at how much I'm enjoying it! I generally hate cardio and love heavy lifting, but there's something calming and almost meditative about running that I'm enjoying. I love to lift but I don't get in that same head…

Hi! I haven't been active on the MFP forums in general lately, but I'm trying to get back to posting. I'm a convert as well (this Easter vigil with be 7 years!) My husband and I converted together from atheism, it was a great experience and how awesome that you and your fiance can go through this together!

My favorite is mashed with goat cheese and some cinnamon and a little butter.

I don't know what an "official" definition is, but I think of heavy lifting as anything outside of "Barbie weights" with an intention to progressively be increasing your weight.

They're both good. I prefer kale because I don't like the taste of spinach.

Don't forget that it takes an excess of around 3500 calories to put on ONE pound of fat. So if you see the scale going up in a short amount of time, it's extremely unlikely you're putting on actual fat. Your weight can fluctuate up and down several pounds in a single day. I can put on 5+ pounds overnight just from too much…

I keep forgetting, too! :) Keep up the good work!

A good quality protein powder is your best friend! I use Vital Whey (natural vanilla) and Shakeology (chocolate). PB2 and liquid egg whites are good, too (added to a daily shake). Normally I do Shakeology after a lifting session and Vital Whey after cardio or on rest days. I don't eat much meat, either (former vegetarian!)…

I recently started up again. I'll be on #3 of workout B tomorrow :)

I started NROLFW back up, previously I only got through stage 2 and fell out of it for a number of reasons. I'm committed to getting through the full program this time! I'll be ready for workout #3 of workout B tomorrow. I already feel stronger and am progressing, I love that. I've lost over 60 pounds since I started…

I've lost 60 pounds so far, but I'd like to lose another 35. That would put me at 145, which is the middle of the healthy weight range for my height and frame. I'm not too hung up on a number, though. My main goal is to be fit and have a lot of lean muscle, which may put me at a higher weight. But probably around a size 6…

They're even better then next day! Here's another veggie meal we love. Don't skimp on the oregano, it's a lot but it's perfect! I also do this to use up fresh veggies at the end of the week. http://www.cozycountryliving.com/loaded-vegetable-soup/

We eat a lot of meatless meals in general, so on Lent I just make sure to do Fridays (and usually Wednesdays). One of our favorites is coconut curried red lentils (even dh and my 13yo, who don't like lentils, love it). 1 cup red lentils (rinsed well) 1 can coconut milk 1-2 cups vegetable broth 1 tbsp curry powder 1 tsp…

Well I've lost 60 pounds in the last 3 years, eating 1800-2200 calories a day and exercising 3-6x a week. And the upside is that since I'm not starving myself and overexercising, I don't balloon up if I enjoy the holidays or need to take time off of exercise.
-
Well, I still have a ways to go, but I've lost close to 60 pounds so far.

I'm doing them regularly and love them! They're tough but it's great.

I'm going through RI30 again, love it. I like it more than 30DS. I feel like RI30 focuses more on strength training/muscle building while 30DS feels like it's more emphasis on the cardio. Generally if it's been more than a couple weeks of not doing it, I go back to week 1 until I feel ready to move on.

I don't really like the dichotomy of "good" and "bad" foods, so it follows that I don't care for the phrase "cheat day." I generally eat a certain way because it makes my body feel good. But if I want something, I have it. Normally I try to make sure it fits into my daily calories/macro goals, but if occasionally it…

There are a lot of similarities, I think, but they aren't quite the same.

I was wondering along the same lines. When I figured my calories most recently, I put lightly active because I've only been working out 2 or 3 times a week. But my fitbit is showing an average daily burn of 2362 over the last month. Although I haven't been working out as much in the past, I'm on my feet a lot (gardening,…

Great job!

I've lost 53 pounds over the last 15 months, and the most of that time I've been eating more. It did take awhile (maybe a couple of months?) to start seeing real results.
-
<53 pounds lost in a little over a year. Hell yeah it works.
-
This is true. I create my own exercises and set it at 1 calorie for 1 minute, and then just stick with my FitBit adjustment.
-
Oh, how I wish you could spot reduce! I carry most of my weight in my abdomen, and it sucks. Sadly, like the others said, there's nothing you can do to reduce stomach fat specifically, just keep losing body fat in general.

I use steel cut oats. I soak them over night in water with a little bit of kefir, and eat them with butter, salt, and real maple syrup.

This is good information. I'm sure most people know these pictures are photoshopped, but they don't realize how extensively. And, even if you know, when your environment is saturated with this junk, it's hard to keep it from sinking in to you and making you feel like this is an attainable look, and you're doing something…
