If you can (easier said than done) find a running buddy. Or take your dog if its at least a medium sized dog. Wear bright colors or reflectors are even better and buy yourself runners pepper spray. It fastens on to your hand so you don't have to fumble for it if you need it but stays out of your way for the running. Good…

I actually like the ones that have succeeded in the journey more. I think they have more tips to offer. I don't want to read a blog to commiserate...I have that with my girlfriends, I like reading blogs (and I READ TONS) that give me inspiration, clues, hints, ideas. my favorite blog right now is Meals and Miles. She takes…

Your car has officially caught a case of glerpes. It is impossible to eradicate.

hmm.....not sure...I'm a bit OCD so I don't have tons of clutter....I have a file crate with a bunch of files, a parasol (paper chinese parasol) and my cell charger.

I am all about my pear shape. Love my hips.....makes me feel sexy and womanly...does it make shopping a bit more difficult..sometimes, but I've learned what seems to work best for my body! :) Plus I like pears....bosc, bartlett, d'anjou.

I use a roller, but its not foam......www.thestick.com i have found for me personally the best way to unwind my muscles is bikram yoga. The heat and the postures really help.

I have pretty eclectic tastes so I do listen to Wanda Jackson, Devil Doll, but can go from that to Big Mama Thornton, Howlin' Wolf, to 2 Live Crew, Celia Cruz, so.....truly I haven't met a genre that I don't listen to in the right setting..though not a HUGE fan of thrashy death metal.

Nope! I drink straight cuban espresso. I do try to "detox" from it every now and then in that I build up a high resistance to it so every now and then I'll go a few days without having any.

I FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY! When I first did the 45lb plates (total 135 still by no means a heavy weight) I felt as if I had conquered a new land and staked it out as mine alone. LOVE LOVE LOVE Deadlifts and Stronglifts

You got some great advice here from some some really smart, fit, and healthy people. The few things I'll contribute is to reiterate eating high quality fats that are higher in calories. I have not met a nut or nut butter that I didn't like and those lil' suckers pack a punch on the calorie content. The next thing is…

i don't log miscellaneous exercise nor do I rely on mfp to tell me what to eat. When I was relying on mfp I would log every single thing I did including walking the dog because I was ravenous, but after bumping up my calories using the calculations at fat2fitradio.com I keep my non exercise days around 1700-1900 and my…

one of the best responses I've ever seen on the forums. I'm not going to try and follow that up with any other advice if you want a little bit of sarcastic humor I suggest reading Shut up and Run's blog on the nine stages of injury. Its hilarious because its true. Its super hard to be sidelined by injuries. Best wishes.

Its the best addiction I've ever had. Congrats and look forward to hearing about your triumphs!!!!!

I'm a really big proponent of the fat2fitradio.com calculators and use those as my guidelines. Basically the philosophy is slow weight loss is better weight loss in the long term because it ensures that you will lose more fat versus muscle and they generally advise eating at the weight you want to be so that you don't have…

first of all........good for you for doing both so well! You look AMAZING! I do both. I am training for a half so I run 4 times a week and do stronglifts 3 times per week. I run and do weights on m,w,f so that when I have my "rest" day or yoga day I can recover fully. I don't lose scale weight as fast as I would like, but…
