Thats what I've been doing lately because its getting crazy heated up in there...and if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen...plus I tend to overeat if I stay in the kitchen. So its Friday Lets have some fun. What song makes you think Yay!!!!!!!! Its the weekend time to have fun! I'm loving some old skool and I…

Mile Marker 24 only 2.2 miles to go.
So I'm volunteering for a local marathon this weekend. Officially I'm called a "course marshal" I believe that is a fancy term for a person that is in between the aid stations to make sure noone has died or is in the process of dying. I'm also at about mile 24 which is where I'm sure most people wish they were dead because…

::RUNNERS:: Need Advice for Half Marathon
This past weekend was the worst training run I've had thus far. It was supposed to be my 12 miles. I did complete it, but we had a family emergency the night before, didn't sleep well, was congested from allergies/cold, it was muggy/hot. Since I was congested I wasn't breathing correctly and got side stitches that slowed…

Oh and if you have used them can you tell me if you feel it works better than music or you have found that you prefer music. Thank you!!!!!

deload?
I'm going to be wrapping up my 3rd week of stronglifts. I FREAKIN' LOVE LOVE LOVE it! However, I've gone through Mehdi's site and went through the topics here....is there a recommended deload week? If so do you just skip the week of lifting? I'll make this a 2 part question. I am training for a half. I generally run in the…

Why isn't this on the market already? Panic Button/GPS
I've been wondering why there isn't a "panic" button GPS system for runners. I was just reading a favorite blog describing unfortunately yet another female solo runner that was killed recently and in the comments this link pulled up. I'm definitely going to be contributing and "preordering" mine. Go pledge/preorder lets…

Does the driving force have to come from within ?
I'm a strong believer that to truly make a lifestyle change in where you eat better, exercise, and change years of "bad" habits that the driving force has to come from within. However, I was wondering did anyone have a loved one sit them down and let them know they were concerned about what they were doing to themselves?…

I think I need a change...
So I'm still a new(er) runner, and I LOVE IT! I mean truly truly truly love it. There is nothing like the feeling of running and pushing your limitations. I am starting training for my first half on Monday, but I feel lately that there isn't that spark that I had before when it was still brand new. I assumed this was going…

Vegan? Vegetarian? Paleo? High Carb?
Just curious on what food lifestyle choices people on here have and why? What reasons made people choose their specific nutritional plan and why they feel it benefits them. Was the transition hard? How long they've been doing it? And can I peek at your diaries? Just working on getting more ideas and I don't think I ever…

No clue where to put this post at
So several different things but it does have to do with health and fitness. I would love to go back to school and get a degree in nutrition science, but is there really a market for it? Where do I start? Can I do online courses are those really reputable or do I need to go to a traditional university? I'm not a spring…

Unhappy People
I found this clip on youtube from Jack Lalanne and it struck such a prophetic and almost ahead of its time theory. Interesting clip give it a few minutes of your day. I'm also not by any means trying to minimize real psychiatric or physical ailments that impede people's life that may make this concept more difficult, but I…

Half Marathon Training Plans
I've been running since November. I run miminum 3 days a week and average about 10-14 miles per week. I am planning on a half marathon at the Disney Wine & Dine, but haven't found a training program that I love. So I figured I'd ask for suggestions. I would like a longer training program in terms of 16-20 weeks. I would…

Sorry...I know that the boards get inunduated with the same ole same ole, but seriously beyond frustrated. I can't get out of the 170s and if I have to get stuck in a decade I'd rather be in the 50s-60s, both weight wise and time period. Just kidding, but not about the frustrated on the weight loss part. I opened my diary…

Dags! <----btw...its a word used in the south...haha. Or m
Seems like its the same conversation with a different food every week. Why do people feel that they are entitled to judge my lifestyle choices? Frustrating, but I'm sure there is a reason for it. Definitely have to vent so I'm gonna do it here. I try to keep things upbeat and positive. This was todays conversation with the…

Switching diet from protein/meal replacement shake to real f
I'm gonna be making a switch over from protein shakes, (which are SOOOO easy) to Clean Eating by Tosca Reno. Which should also help me with keeping more calories spread out thru the day versus calorie load at night. Not sure why...I'm losing weight at my current plan, but think long term this will be more beneficial. ANY…

Why did I eat that guilt?
Heather Frey with Smashfit just posted this on her facebook page and hit home completely. I had poor planning of my food twice this week and VERY LUCKILY/ or with determination I forced myself to make good food choices knowing what road it would lead down if I didn't, however, I wanted to share this. Its brilliant and so…

Runners what other fitness plans do you do to help your runn
Super novice runner here. I love it! Its exhilarating to push your body more than you thought it could go. I have noticed that my lower body isn't as strong as it should be so I'm cycling and doing strength training to help correct that issue without adding extra impact. Anything else have a favorite addition to their…

Knee Issues
I know this has been addressed on the boards already but my knee pain/condition doesn't seem to be as severe. On week 2 of c25k and LOVE it, but my left knee...Ouchie. Not horrible pain, not swollen just generally uncomfortable. I haven't taken any kind of otc meds and have to be honest, haven't been stretching properly…
